Trysting Place Pub

My first experience at the Trysting Pub was not too bad. I enjoy their fish fry which was Beer Battered Cod and their delicious golden fries. I went for this social event called the Meet and Greet with my co-​workers and it was fun as always. I wasn’t pleased with the waitress at all. I had to wait for 15 – 20 minutes to pay my bill and 10 minutes for my drink. I can understand that there was a lot of people dining all at once but nevertheless I got a lot of dollar bills back for change which was nice. Overall, I was satisfied with the atmosphere of the restaurant and the presentation of the food. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys drinks and Friday Fish Frys.

Amazing place! Great service. Timely and friendly. Never had any issues here. The pizza is amazing, and the salads and sandwiches are always fresh.

My husband and I were here recently for a retirement party for one of his colleagues. Everything was very nice. The banquet room that the party was held in was spacious, and the staff was very friendly. There also was a full bar available to the partygoers.
They offer several food options for their catering. At this gathering, pizza, chicken wings, sandwiches, salad, and different deserts were served.
I would definitely like to return and have the full dining experience in the restaurant.

I work close to trystin place so and since there are hardly any places around the neighborhood we end up here for after office drinks and many office events.
Good is ok drinks at so so. I like what they did with the extension patio which allows you to sit outside during better weather days

Well then… allow me.
So, Menomonee Falls: a suburb not necessarily replete with independent restaurants and nightlife. It’s certainly changing, slowly but surely, but for the longest time, this was the land of loudly lauded chain.
«Oooh! A Noodles! A Starbucks! A Chili’s! You guys, we’ve really made it!»
Blech. Bland. Boring. Not so much my scene, honestly.
As of late, however, more and more independent and locally-​owned cafes, restaurants, and bars have been popping up in the Fiz-​alls. Huzzah!
Trysting Place is a flagship and an institution they can look to for lessons in longevity; this locally-​owned bar/​restaurant has been around for YEARS — I’m talking at least, say, 15 – 18? — and in the Falls, that’s saying something.
Beers, darts, food, specials, live entertainment… this is why. They’ve for years filled a sorely-​needed niche in the area, and have done so in a quality and consistent manner.
Kudos, Trysting Place! Keep doing what you’re doing.

Just awful. Should have been a warning when there were only 3 total tables full on a Saturday lunch. 6 people in our party, but it took 45 minutes for the food. And 2 people shared their meal with someone. Only 4 dishes total. I got the RC special chicken sandwich. Maybe it was just sitting out waiting for the rest of the ticket to be filled, but it was cold and way over cooked. I wasn’t going to pay for a dry luke warm chicken sandwich. I took 3 bites, and told them to just take it away. Normally I don’t send food back or write reviews, but this was horrid. Go eat somewhere else.

This is one of my fave restaurants in the Falls. The chicken is really good. Free popcorn. And they have this sour dough loaf that is to die for. $ 3 is hidden on the soup menu.
Took my daughter there for her 16^th birthday this past week. Service was great. Love the new outdoor patio.

Now that my friend John, the Certified Italian Chef has returned, he’s back cooking for others. With this on his mind, he wanted to go to Woodman’s Supermarket in
Menomonee Falls to stock-​up on produce and spices.
With it being lunchtime, we decided to stop at the nearby Trysting Place, which we had not been to in several years. Would it be better than our last visit?
We were seated in the large bar area. All the rooms here are very large, so large it
is very quiet to the point of seeming like we were alone. Nothing wrong with that.
The Italian Buffet was $ 9.99 Wednesday but John taking a look said it didn’t appear
good. He should know, he has a nose and decades of experience when concerning Italian food.
He ordered the Vegetarian Wrap ($ 8.29) instead and I stuck with the all-​American
($ 7.50) «Build your own Hamburger.»
Unfortunately when Jay brought our meals they were both nothing out of the ordinary. John’s Vegetarian Wrap was served heated and filled with a large variety
of vegetables, but chopped into small pieces and chunks, it was hard to pick-​up.
My hamburger was only ¹⁄₃ pound and at $ 7.50 should have been a ½ pound
for the price. Served a perfect medium-​well and with french fries there was still
something missing, value.
Disappointing once more, Trysting Place is again off our list.

Went to MKE for a week for a job. As soon as I got off the plane, my driver took me to this establishment for some adult beverages.
I mean how much better could this trip get?
This place was pretty neat. A typical pub with beer and food. Many televisions to watch numerous game. Oh and I guess on Friday nights they do karaōke. Sadly, I didn’t have enough beers to participate, but the people who did were jamming out.
I was famished, so I split a pizza with a friend. It was good. I love that they have so many types of beer on tap. Oh and the prices were reasonable!
Not a bad place to meet up with buds and have some beers!

Food was ok. Lots of TV’s to watch the game. Service was slow but that was only due to the restaurant being packed because of March Madness. They did the best they could.

A big bar, big lot, big patio, big dance floor, big popcorn machine, big booths, big screens, big drinks, big bar stools.
This parking lot used to be packed with cars and the restaurant was packed with people. not so much now during the past 3 – 4 years. Could it be the economy? I don’t know. Are the specials not so special? They are on the edge of city. And on a main road? What gives? The staff seemed friendly DJ has his request list and was doing a good performance, cross fading transitions, reverbs, breaks and beat matching.
I had a good time listening to big speakers and really enjoyed the DJ spin music videos. Usually busier for a Saturday night but it was still a good time. I even look bigger too when not surrounded by taller people so there! Ha ha I’m a fan!

Went here on a Friday for a work lunch. This is not the type of place I would choose and the menu was simple local yokel. There was a salad and soup buffet for $ 5.99 and an added hot bar of fish baked or fried, hush puppies and other fried stuff for $ 9.99. I opted out of the salad and hot bar as it did not look like quality ingredients.
Server was straight forward. For the number of diners, it was amazingly quiet. An annoying thing we all noticed was the tall table stools had a weird slope and we all felt like we were sliding off and had to brace ourselves against the table.
Food was unremarkable. Gotta be real hungry and out of options to eat here again.

Good fish fry and friendly atmosphere. Oh and it was packed.

Saturday afternoon, 12/​29/​2012 at about 1:00 PM. Arrived to an almost empty location.
We ordered a Reuben on Pumpernickel with a cup of Caribbean Chicken soup and a grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough with french fries.
The Reuben was superb; it contained a generous portion of moist, lean corned beef that was not over-​seasoned/​salted, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut. Russian dressing on the side. (Note the picture I uploaded).
The grilled cheese (Swiss and Cheddar) was also superb. It, too, had a generous portion of both cheeses and was grilled to perfection; crispy on the outside and almost airy on the inside. The fries were excellent; some type of very light batter/​coating gave the fries a unique, crispy flavor.
We ordered coffee and, thus, cannot comment on the bar service, although the bar area is huge with several TV’s. It looks like a fun place to be, but no one was sitting at the bar when we got there, other than an employee whom I believe was the manager doing some paperwork.
The menu at Trysting Place has an array of choices, including meal sized salads, specialty sandwiches and a large pizza menu, as well.
Our server, Melissa, was very efficient, friendly and helpful with our choices.
Only after we came back home and started this review did we notice that previous reviews were less than stellar. Regardless, our total experience here was four star.

Writing this review based on a good ribeye sandwich ($ 10) that I had there this week. Ambiance is a bit beat, but it doesn’t look any different than a standard WI bar.
I just enjoyed the ribeye sandwich. Certainly wouldn’t recommend wasting your time to go there, but if you happen to be in area and can’t find anything else, its a good sandwich.

Our group ordered a few burgers which were overcooked, a bbq chicken pizza which smelled like … rotten shoes and bad milk. Everything was terrible except the servers were pretty nice.

Friendly staff… yummy food and has one of the best djs in town!
