Long John Silver’s

The girls who work here have all been so nice. The customer service is beyond here! Viviana is very personable, such a sweetheart! My food has been correct and fresh everytime :)

Everything was great the food was fresh the people were super friendly everything was just perfect. I must say the drive through was a long wait atleast 15₂₀ min. But over all food is great!

Went through the drive thru and ordered a fish and chicken family meal, the crew was very friendly and the food was hot and fresh. Little bit of a wait but everything was hot off the oil so worth it.

I’ve been to plenty of long john silvers in the past and this one had really good service. The fish and chicken were freshly prepared and it was delicious!

There were three things wrong with my experience at Long John Silvers. 1), I went through the drive through and it took 15 minutes! We sat there for do long and I was in the middle of the line so I could not back up. However, they explained that the line was long because of the pge power issues. I can understand that and I appreciate that they gave me a discount because of the wait. 2), they got my order wrong. I initially I asked for the sides to be coleslaw and fries and green beans and rice. While waiting in line for 5 minutes and not having moved I thought it would be ok if I changed one of the sides. I asked for a second green bean instead of the coleslaw. They instead switched the rice for the second green been; not what I asked for. 3), they gave me extra food. Not people would oh awesome extra food that I didn’t ask for, except they charged me for it! They repeated my order twice to me, though I will admit they said it extremely fast and it was hard to understand them, they said two meals (which is what I order). Instead they charged me for two meals, two drinks, and two Combos, and no discount. My total bill was $ 11 over what it should have been! I am furious! I tried to call them twice but they never answered. I am going in there tomorrow to make sure I get money back, or a gift card at least. I didn’t need enough for four people for only two. The food is good but I am not going back if they are going f**k up as bad as they did today.

This place is better than I expected. A nice change of pace from burger joints.

Greasy, greasy, greasy! I’ve been to this Long John Silver’s drive thru three or four times, each time hoping that I’d catch it on a good day. The last two times I felt sick after eating the food. Last time it was so greasy I couldn’t even finish the food. The hush puppies were tasteless and dry.

I have never been to a Long John Silver’s before. I don’t believe we have many in SoCal. I’ve seen some on the way to Vegas, but never stopped to have a bite. Anyways… I was hungry and I had the coupons so I thought, why not. I went through the drive-​thru and the lady was very nice and enthusiastic. I asked about the sampler basket and she told me what was in it, so I got it. There was one person ahead of me who was waiting and had turned their car off. It’s a tad bit longer wait for your food but I was glad because that means they were actually frying it fresh. When I got up to pay, I used a 3 free shrimp coupon so the lady told me it would take longer, again, no complaints… fresh food. When I got home to eat it… I was glad napkins were in the bag because some grease got patted out lol. I would not recommend saving/​refrigerating left-​overs, give them to someone else to finish. Tell them about your coupon ahead of time to cut down your wait time. Overall, the food was fresh and it tasted good, the customer service was great. I would eat here again. :)

The standards of quality at this store are very poor. If you want quick seafood i would suggest a local place over this location. My mom and I go to the long John silvers in Modesto and Fresno and we always get the salmon platter. This was the first and last time we will get anything from this Merced location. The «veggies» were canned green beans and they are supposed to be mixed vegetables and the rice was dried out and crusty. The salmon was unseasoned and the bread was the only alright part of the order. We love the salmon platter and have never had any issues at any other location. Paying over 10 dollars for inedible rice and canned green beans and unseasoned salmon is a disappointment.

I’ve only been here once and it was a good experience. This is probably the best fried seafood I’ve had in Merced and that’s saying a lot considering that this place is a drive-​thru fast food joint.
The drive-​thru lady was super friendly and hooked it up with the extra sauces. Our food was hot and crispy when we got it which is a major plus. It was quite flavorful for fast food. It’s pricier than most drive-​thru places but I guess it’s because it’s seafood. I ordered the fried shrimp basket with a side of fries. The serving size was quite plentiful and I didn’t feel jipped one bit. It was worth every penny.

Many other fast food restaurants can learn a lot of customer skills from this one. The other day when I was eating a meal, I overheard a difficult customer who was just plain rude. Juan the Guy behind the counter kept his cool and was very accomidating and patient. His cheery tone of voice never changed, and e kept his cool.
I was checked on twice to make sure I was satisfied. And my order was brought to my table ina timely manner.
The food is as good as it can for being deep fried.

Tough to establish the connection with the healthy thought of eating fish as a puddle of grease is forming on my plate. Always, the fries are old and cool to the touch. Stay walks around, in /​out, and sit with friends while food cooks though.

I have never heard of this place until my boyfriend mentioned it to me and since it was the last Friday in Lent and we were on our way up to celebrate Easter with family up north, thought I’d give it a try.
I was very impressed at how well run and popular this place is. Considering I’ve never heard of it til now, the place was pretty busy and I could understand why.
The service: Excellent! Cook staff, cashier, servers — everyone was polite, friendly, and aware of your needs. They keep the place pretty clean and presentable, which is nice bc on the outside it doesn’t look like it would be. As soon as we left the table, someone was there to clean up after.
The food: Pretty good! Expect a lot of oily goodness. I like fried stuff but at the same time, it was a bit overwhelming to me. We ordered the fish and shrimp platter which came with cole slaw, hush puppies (fried pancake balls), fries, two big pieces of fried halibut, and about 6 or so pieces of fried butterfly shrimp. We also had a side of two crab cakes, also fried. The food tasted good especially w/​all the sauces but I was a bit turned off at the imbalance of fried vs. non-​fried stuff. I wish there was rice instead of fries that way I didn’t feel like I was downing a bottle of oil with everything I ate. I’m sure you can substitute it but I figured that after the fact.
Overall experience was pleasant tho and you can let them know that by ringing the bell by the exit on your way out.
Would I come back? Probably, but it’s more of a once in a while kind of place for me due to all the oiliness.

I really do like Long John Silvers! I used to take my mom here about once a month just so she could get out for awhile & it was one of the few place’s she’d actually go inside to eat. Have been to a # of LJS, but this one most often. Really good food for a good price.
