Decent selection of CDs, but they do not have a scanner to check books back in and I’ve returned an item that got lost at this branch. I’m really not happy about this, so I will never come back here. Library is fairly small, but atleast it’s clean.

A vibrant library with quite a few kids studying after school. The foreign language book collection here is quite nice. The space is large and friendly. There is almost always one or two computers open when I went so I never had to wait. Good for spending an afternoon reading or doing work with others.

This is a small library tucked away on Mercer. In front of the building, there’s a large bronze sculpture of a huge reclining rabbit with a boy leaning against him, reading a book. Kids were climbing all over this rabbit and I imagine many people have taken photographs with it.
I was here most recently when my cello teacher organised a recital for his students to entertain anyone who wished to listen. We found the last parking spot in the lot, I don’t know where you’d park if that was full. The side streets didn’t seem accommodating to parallel parking.
I encountered several friendly employees and while the library wasn’t large, it seemed to suffice for the patrons that left with books.

I visited this library recently just to try out another branch. Besides, I hadn’t been here since the 90s. The insides have changed a little since then — specifically the addition of a lot of computers (look, in the 90s we didn’t have public computers). (Yes, I’m that old. Hush.) Anyhoo, this branch is relatively small. The casual browsing of the shelves is pretty limited. There also aren’t very many tables — but at least every table has power. The way the space is setup, it’s pretty open. That means at 3PM when all the kids start rolling in the library gets loud. So bring headphones.

This is a small, but nice local library. I might suppose that Mercer Island could support a few libraries, as this one is not centrally located.
I stopped here in order to use the computers as I was waiting for my kid at swim practice (have you started to notice a theme here) and my laptop was at home defragging.
Most of the computers are not Windows PCs, but a network appliance running windows, so they don’t quite work right with my flash drive and PortableApps, but the lady at the information desk was quite helpful. I was able to get a computer, with out a reservation and had a fruitful wait.
