I’m actually pretty fond of this place. The apartments are clean, well finished, comfortable, and the location can’t be beat. Don’t get me wrong, there are downsides, but my boyfriend and I are actually very happy here. As far as rent goes on Mercer Island, it’s a steal. There’s a great bar/restaurant right across the street, The Islander. I always find parking right outside of the apartment. And it’s close enough to town to feel like an insider, but there’s no traffic noise, so it’s perfect that way. Downsides: the in suite washer/dryer is kind of a joke. It dries with steam, so I use it sparingly. There are more facilities in the shared laundry room and there’s almost never any one else down there. Another thing, the paint they use on the inside of the apartments is kinda strange. Just don’t splash too much water on the wall or it might melt a little. Yes, the property managers live onsite, which can sometimes be kind of uncomfortable. Even if you’re not doing anything wrong it can sometimes feel like you’re tiptoeing around them. Maybe it’s just my personality. They are friendly enough, but don’t get buddy-buddy with you, so that’s professional. Yeah, so the insides are all refinished and lovely, that’s my favorite part. The outside hasn’t been updated in a while so from the outside looking in it looks a little… shoddy. Just go inside, you’ll get over it quickly. Oh, and ask if anyone lives above or below you. The floor and ceilings aren’t very thick, but it’s an apartment, so… Overall, I recommend this place to anyone looking to live on the island. We enjoy it very much.
