Lunch options in mercer island are not exactly abundant, even so, I would still skip this place. I’m writing this review as the taste of the pizza is still lingering in my mouth with disappointment. The main downfall of the pizza is the crust. I dont discriminate between thin and thick crust as long as it’s done well. This crust was thin, wimpy, chewy and tasteless with burnt chards in the mix. It was like eating a soggy water cracker. We got the garlic vegetarian and it didn’t even have a hint of garlic. The cheese, which I ended up eating by itself since the pizza was so disappointing, was the only part that i would say was okay. It’s definitely not well priced for what you get in quality or quantity. I’m not a huge fan of MOD pizza, but I would go there any day over this place if I needed a quick pizza fix. Shocked at the Unilocal reviews. But then again, I have yet to have a great pizza in the Seattle area.

The only thing is that the crust should be more toasty bc a slice flops around and needs to be cradled!

I had a great experience. The pizza was expertly cooked and crisp on the edges.

Very good pizza especially considering the options on Mercer Island. It’s really thin crust, thinner than NYC style, but it crisps up good and is cooked fast. For a specialty pizza, bread sticks, and large salad total cost was around $ 25. Wavered between 3 and 4 stars for a long time, 3.5 stars if I could. Another trip might help bump up to a solid 4.

I think I need to find more reasons to come to Mercer Island. My latest trip left me on my own with an hour or so to kill, and a hunger that demanded satisfaction, in downtown Mercer Island. I don’t spend much time there, and what I saw at first was not promising: a Tully’s, a McDonald’s, a strip-mall sushi joint of questionable provenance, and an equally iffy-looking Chinese restaurant. Then I saw — and smelled — a little food truck with an honest to goodness wood-burning oven, and a fair amount of activity around it. The smells coming from it, even at a distance, were woodsmoke and rich tomato sauce and toasted garlic. Needless to say, my choice was made. And I couldn’t be happier for it. The choices are simple — build your own pie or choose from one of several combinations on offer, like chicken bacon ranch, margherita, or other favourites, some familiar, others new. No matter what you get, there are two sizes and two prices: about $ 9 for a «personal» and $ 19 for a «large.» There’s also cheese bread, salad, and some bottles soft drinks to choose from(including Mexican Coke — bonus!). I went with the Personal Pesto Chicken pizza — the promise of sweet onion, bacon, Pesto, chicken, and cheese could not be denied this night. And gentle reader… They delivered on that promise. In about 10 minutes the pizza I had asked for — made fresh in front of me — was pulled out of the flaming oven literally piping with steam, cut into quarters, and delivered into my eager hands. I could already smell the Pesto and olive oil. I let it cool and finally took my first bite, and my second, and… Suddenly it was all gone. Every sublime morsel. I was sated… But already wanting more. There exists on Mercer Island, surrounded by mediocrity, a tiny little truck that creates pizzas worth going out of your way for. And yes, I definitely need to make my way there more often.

We happened upon their fabulous pizza when they were first in Bellevue. They moved around a bit, but the kids in my backseat, always could smell the pizzas, wherever they were set up. Now they are also on Mercer Island and we are regular customers. The kids won’t eat any other pizza! The menu is pretty big, the prices are reasonable, and watching them prepare our pizza is entertaining. We like to support small businesses, but it won’t be small for long!

Wonderful! The pizzas were delicious and the service was very prompt. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a pizza made and packed so quickly. The Master Pizzacrafter was very fun to watch, too, you could tell she knew those tools and techniques inside and out. I was kind of sad she made the pizzas so quickly– it was fun to watch her flip them around inside the oven. Next time I’m on the island I’m going to have to come here again.

Great thin crust cooked to perfection, crispy, flavorful, looked like something from Italy. And it was reasonably priced filling and fast!

Decent pizza but very inconsistent in terms of quality. We have had undercooked, burnt to a crisp and everything in between. My biggest issue is with the cost of a relatively small«large» pizza. $ 44 for 2 large pies is a bit steep even for the Island! I would also like to see them add some rotating menu specials and new toppings. It’s been the same menu for over a year.

I’ve ordered from here twice now. The first time was pretty good. The pep pizza we ordered was good. The cheesesticks were pretty boring. The smores pizza was really good. The caesar salad was acceptable. The second time we got a BBQ chicken pizza. It was pretty bad. The bbq sauce was so thick that you couldn’t really taste anything else. The toppings were few and far between. A few specs of chicken here and there, same with the red onion. Pretty much no cheese either. On both of my orders I’ve had issues with their online ordering system. The first time their wifi had turned off so they didn’t get my order. The second time they hadn’t received the order by the time I stopped down 10 – 15 minutes later.

We have had pizza from this business in a few locations now. We have always enjoyed out meals. They have some great menu combos, but you can make your own pizza. Doesn’t take too long to get the food. It’s fresh and hot from the oven and very tasty! I like that if the bottom gets a burnt spot(common in wood fired ovens) they will scrape that area before serving(Mercer Island location). We enjoy this pizza and will be back

I love this place for a quick and fresh pizza. Call ahead and pick up or walk up and order. They are really fast with the orders and friendly. I love thin crust and sauce. I just wish there were a few more toppings for the price. The salads aren’t great, white lettuce and some croutons and a little cheese. Come for the pizza, it’s the best on the island

Hands down the best pizza on the island. It is a bit pricier than somewhere like dominoes but absolutely worth it. I love that they use fresh mozzarella and the crust is always perfect. The caesar salad is actually quite tasty too when there isn’t too much dressing on it. This pizza has dangerously become almost a weekly habit for my fiancée and me. My only gripe is that they don’t stay open later than 8pm. I know that it is Mercer Island, but come on, at least stay open until 10pm so those of us who crave good pizza a little later in the evening can get it.

I was so hyped when I was told by my friends about this food truck, I called them to order a margarita and they told me they could make it but there was no basil and honestly what’s a margarita without basil, so I asked to order something else. The two other pizzas I wanted they didn’t have enough ingredients to make it, I ended up just telling them to make me whatever they had. When I picked up my pizza, I found that my pizza was completely burnt at the bottom and the portion was a lot smaller than I had expected, for the price, it really isn’t worth it.

Easily the best pizza on Mercer Island. You have to wait a little longer than expected on occasion but it’s always worth it. The pepperoni pizza is great. Customer service is above average. It again, it’s all about the pizza!

This has got to be the best portable cooked pizza place I’ve every had… Wait it’s up there with some of the best pizza I have had. I found this place by accident over the holidays when visiting my Dad and we ending up eating there twice in a week. I was very pleased to go back this summer and find it still there and the quality at the same level it was several months prior. The pizza is thin crust wood fire cooked and is made and cooked within minutes. I can’t think of an easier grab and go pizza place that has the quality that these guys put out on a regular basis. Definitely check them out.

I was SO excited to hear that the«food truck» pizza stand that I’ve been meaning to try for years in Bellevue relocated to MI. I went in today to grab a few pizzas for a picnic in the park. They have both make your own options and super yummy sounding«classics.» I ended up getting two personal sized pizzas, the buffalo chicken and cheese for $ 18. The service was tremendous but the food was not that great. The girl working was awfully sweet and did an amazing job keeping my 6 year old sister entertained and occupied by offering her a lollipop and even setting up a stool so that my sister could watch the pizza cook. They use real wood and the pizza cooks super fast. My sister was singing about crispy pizzas so she was nice enough to make her cheese pizza extra crispy even with two other orders in line. The buffalo chicken pizza came with an olive oil base, few pieces of chicken, celery, and buffalo sauce. I couldn’t taste the cheese at all. The cheese pizza was alright but nothing to crave for. For $ 18, you would expect a better tasting and a more filling pizza but even after 1.5 personal pizzas, I was hungry. The cool thing was that they had Siracha in addition to the classic parmesan and chili flakes. They advertise that they use better ingredients since they don’t have to pay for having a physical«restaurant.» If this is true, they should really be putting more of their toppings on the pizza. If you plan to order, I would recommend calling in your oder because depending on how busy it is, your food can take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. They have a delicious«smores» pizza for a dessert so I plan to go back to try it out. There is no «sit» area but they do have a covered waiting area. It’s a great place to pick up a meal to go and I can only imagine how busy this place will get when the weather gets warmer. Tuscan Stone, if you’re reading this, please put more ingredients, especially cheese, on your pizzas!
