Yogabliss

I try to come in 6 times a week (at least for meditation), I am a big fan of their gentle and healing yoga practices as well as the yin. Yoga intimidated me at first but the staff at Yogabliss made me feel right at home.

Me and my wife like this place a lot. Location is convenient and parking has never been a problem. The crowd is good, sincere and most people are friendly. Studio is clean and well managed, staff has always been friendly.
Finally, how good a studio is determined by its visiting teachers. We have loved attending classes of almost all the teachers here and everyone has their unique style, but a special mention for Gianna Carotenuto. She is really the best yoga teacher we have trained under. She is very wise with her advice and the many years of practice and teaching experience she has shows. Also she is very grounded and learning under her is a pleasure. Cheers!

Love the vibe here. Some yoga places can feel clicked and exclusive, not this place! My last class was with Sherah (hot fusion) and it was SO great. Thanks!

Still good, but not five stars. The instructor line-​up keeps changing — it doesn’t seem like there is very much flexibility on the part of the owner about keeping instructors on even when they are only available for limited classes. I really don’t know. All I know is that all but one of the great instructors are gone… I’m sure there will be more, but I am not inspired to go out of my way to get to a class at yogabliss. Sad face.

I originally came to Yogabliss because I had heard wonderful things about an instructor that taught here (Robin M.) So I signed up for a new student class which gave me a two for one deal on the class. I took the Slow Flow Vinyasa class on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm. The class was excellent! Robin broke down the poses and gave levels to increase or decrease intensity depending on your own level of practice. The class is very relaxing, slower paced in movements but you still build heat and while slow moving you definitely get a good workout.
Since I was new to mat yoga so, having someone break-​down the poses was really awesome. The class was filled with all levels of yogi which was awesome since I wasn’t the only newbie and the more advanced students were a great inspiration for me. I did end up getting a monthly membership as a new student the deal was a great one, so I took the Slow Flow Vinyasa both on Tuesday & Thursday evenings. Robin taught the Tuesday & Carla teaches the Thursday class.
Studio size: pretty large.

Class recommendation: Slow Flow Vinyasa (Which is a non-​heated class.)
Facilities: Ladies locker room was clean, with lockers if you wanted to secure your purse or phone. There were also showers which I imagine is great if you do the hot yoga classes.
I also did a 5 class Acro-​yoga workshop which ROCKED! Hopefully they do another one soon, it was so much fun! (Acro-​yoga is partner yoga, it is a blast! And I came to the class without a partner, but you work in groups so everyone gets a chance to fly or base… or both if you wish.) Highly recommend trying it if you see it on their schedule definitely give it a go!
My little side note: I was very sad when they stopped having Robin M. teach the Tuesday evening Slow Flow class, it truly is disappointing as her class was what kept me going back to this studio!

Clean, spacious studio with good classes. Very professional and not smelly like some hot yoga studios. They also now have barre classes! It’s easy to sign in once you’ve signed up. Good to go early to get space, sometimes the classes are quite full. They also have nice clean bathrooms and showers!

It has two studios. One for hot yoga and the other one not.
The non-​hot studio was not too big or small. It has a structural column off to one side of the room. I liked the natural light from the window.
The place came with two showers, some lockers in the ladies bathroom. Additional shelve space for storage is outside of the studios. The water fountain came with the normal fountwin and a water bottle sensor. I love using it at SeaTac and now in a yoga studio too. Sweet!
Today’s workflow is pretty productive and with some level of challenge. However, I wish the teacher slowed down her instruction and avoid babbling. It will make the flow more smooth and add harmony.
I especially enjoyed the longer Shavasana. I would suggest the instructor again to be less wordy and may be just share an inspiring quote with a soothingly tone to enhance the relaxation.
I will definately come and keep my fingers crossed that this will be my studio for a long time moving forward. I had been trying different studios around town and visit other state’s studios as well. Once I found mine, somehow it found ways to deteriorate (over crowded, teacher left, dirty, etc.)

Yogabliss is a true blessing in my life. I started coming about a year and a half ago when my mother convinced me to try hot yoga with her. Suffice to say, I became an addict. As someone who has been told by my doctor that my hamstrings are way too tight, I never thought I would be described as a flexible person. I had so much fun at yogabliss, i was shocked that within two months I could put my hands flat on the floor! The teachers are wonderful and are very alignment focused. They will come around and correct you to make sure you won’t hurt yourself. Some of my favorites are Amy, Cobey, Andreas, and Maria (the owner). I also have really enjoyed their barre classes.
This is the perfect yoga studio. A wonderful community to be a part of.

Love this place. The online scheduling site is super easy to navigate and the staff is amazing. I am in the health and fitness industry and I can’t say enough good stuff about the teachers here. They are so inviting and knowledgable about the body, the poses and making any accomidation necessary. It’s super convenient if you live on Mercer Island but worth the drive if you don’t. The studio is very clean and the front desk staff are very helpful and inviting.
I’ve tried other studios and nothing compares to this one.

Not as happy as I was three years ago with this place seems it have become very uptight and difficult to work with. Perhaps it is just some members of their administrative staff that has brought in different vibe.

I’m on the island for a couple of weeks and thought I’d check out the Yogabliss studio. I love the classes, the instructors, and the people that go are very nice too. They offer a range of classes at different levels and every one I’ve been to was great.

The thing I like best about this studio is that it has been very clean whenever I have been here. They frequently mop the floors. Plus they have a good variety of classes with helpful instructors! Its conveniently located — close to the bus stop and there is plenty of visitor parking as well.

Great place! Love the classes, atmosphere, and welcoming staff! I will be back and recommend this studio!

I took a Power Yoga class at Yogabliss while visiting family on Mercer Island and I can say that it was one of the best yoga classes I’ve ever taken. The studio was clean and beautiful, the instructor was great and led a challenging class. I encourage anyone who loves yoga to give this place a try! I had an incredible, full body workout.

I learned about this studio through an online deal and am a big fan. I admittedly didn’t experience all the class variations and teachers but, I did have the great experience of taking class with Mackenzie Miller. She was the first yoga teacher who I believe enjoys being upside down as much as I do! I also took a class with another instructor who was also very kind and had a practice I was able to learn a great deal from. I would (and have) recommend this to friends. I hope to get a chance to try some more of their classes as well as they have a great variety.

This is the best yoga studio I’ve been to yet! As a fitness fanatic and personal trainer, I’m always conscious of how instruction is given. These instructors know their yoga.
Unlike other yoga studios or fitness clubs with yoga classes, Yogabliss offers a variety of classes with expert instructors. So if you’re not only interested in going through the motions or poses, but also interested in the why this is the place for you. Did you know there are 60 trillion cells in the human body?
The temperatures in the classes are not unbearable like many of these new age hot yoga studios. So don’t worry about sweating or getting up if you need to leave the room. No one will make you feel awkward or like you broke the yoga tradition.
Everyone is super casual and your greatest competition is yourself… not the person next to you. I spoke with Maria, the owner, on my two month membership there. She’s quite experienced and has been teaching on the Island for years. I can’t emphasize enough that this place uses the best instructors that clearly did not get their education online.
Great job Yogabliss. Now if only you would move to Southern California with me…

+1 star for having a pretty good yoga practice — pretty good warmup and use of the hour and a half that I was in the power vinyasa class… so why only 2 stars? Read on!
+1 star for location — as the only well-​established yoga studio on the island, they pretty much have a monopoly for yogis who are too lazy to drive off the island for their classes. The space itself is pretty nice too.
–1 star for vibe of the studio and clientele. I mean, I know it’s Mercer Island, so what can I really expect, right? But it seriously felt like I was walking into a yoga class with all the Stepford Wives and their best friends. I was literally the only person in the class not wearing something skintight from lululemon; leave the statement jewelry and 3 inch hoop earrings at home — this is yoga class, not fashion school. Judging a business based on clientele could seem out of line but that’s something that figures strongly into how I feel about yoga studios. Do I like the mix of people that I am sharing my practice with? Can I see myself fitting into this community? Meh.
–1 star for totally distracting music. I know it was power vinyasa yoga but I really could have done without the crazy dubstep John Legend rave remixes. The classes here seem to emphasize yoga as a workout and less as an actual practice and it was hard to do simple things like focus on breathing when that stuff was pounding over the speakers.
–1 star for an overall underwhelming experience here. The first class was free (thank goodness) but I paid $ 3 for a mat/​towel rental. Considering the class was power vinyasa AND heated to the point where everyone was dripping all over themselves/​their mats/​their hardwood floors, it would have been nice to have something bigger than a washcloth. When I asked about towels/​mat sprays after class, the instructor was pretty dismissive («Do you see towels? Then no.»).
Everyone has different standards and expectations for yoga and while I could see this working for some people, I would gladly drive the extra 15 minutes plus 10 minutes finding parking to go to a slightly more pricey class at a well-​loved studio in Cap Hill than return here again.

I love the new studio! They keep adding and changing class schedules based on what seems like students’ requests/​needs. That’s amazing. This place is the best.

I liked and disliked this place.
I liked that the instructor Catherine (spelling?) was really nice and took some time to meet the new students and ask about their yoga background. The class was an intro class and I liked that we learned about the different poses as well as back up poses for ones we could’t do, but what I didn’t like is that it was a long class, too hot (it was not hot yoga they just didn’t have sufficient air in the studio), the terminology was used throughout the class even though it was an intro class and there were people who have never taken yoga before were confused, and I didn’t like how they allowed the class to get super packed so the body heat was doubling!
All in all though I think it’s a nice studio and some people seemed like they loved it and were going often. Nice staff!
