Just finished our first meal from Zing Long, and came away impressed! Clean and friendly little place. Pork fried rice was great! Very flavorful, large chunks of pork, and lots of veggies. We ordered the General Tso’s & Sesame Chicken, both were good if overly sweet (I love spicy personally). Egg rolls and crab rangoon were good albeit a little chewy. Will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

I’ve tried probably every Chinese food restaurant in Meriden and Xing Long is the best in my opinion. The rice is just amazing. I’ve always said there are two types of Chinese food; clean and dirty. This place is dirty but in the best way possible. The boneless spare ribs are usually what I get but I’ve had the General Tsos chicken, lo mein, and my hunny has had the Scallion Chicken, the Singapore rice noodles (mei fun), chicken wings etc. The crab Rangoon is good too. Needless to say from the more authentic Chinese dishes to the American Chinese ones, we’ve never been disappointed. They are cash only and don’t deliver because frankly they don’t have to. They are that good. Only negative is their egg rolls. Good egg rolls are an elusive creature in Meriden.

Terrible Chinese food. My husband and I both ordered General Tso’s Chicken. It tasted like it was made ahead of time and reheated. The sauce was so thick and sticky and like nothing I’ve ever had before. The chicken was gamey with a metallic after taste. Only went here because Jade Garden was closed on a Monday. Will never order from here again.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and now at least 20 years and a lot of crappy Chinese food later, this is still hands down the best Chinese food I’ve had!
I personally love their boneless spare ribs, chicken fingers and pork fried rice.
If I ever move out of CT, this will be one of the few things I miss. I VERY highly recommend this place.
Cash only, no delivery either. There are a few small tables to eat in. It’s a small place at the end of a plaza, very unassuming. I guarantee you’ll love it.

I heard there was good food to be had at Xing Long, so I made a trek over to the West Side of town to give it a shot. It’s pretty much just take out, and you need to bring cash. I had to look around to find it. The restaurant is down at the deserted end of Stop and Shop plaza.
This is a no frills place, just pick up, pay cash and on your way. The lady at the counter was very friendly. It seemed to be a very small, family owned kind of place.
I ordered Roast Pork with vegetables and Orange Flavored Chicken. The food was surprizingly good. Both meals came with large portions. Nothing was greasy or heavy like I have grown to expect from take away places.
The prices were reasonable for the portions, and the food was tasty and hot. I enjoyed it and would return again.
To sum it up:
Look for light at the dark end of the plaza
Take out only
Bring Cash
Nice People
Eat

Good place. Will come back. Cleaner than most restaurants of this type. Nice to be able to SEE everything they are doing as well. FAST. 6 orders ready in 10 – 15 min. Price not too bad either. Small eat in area good for couples or those on the road. Mostly a takeout kind of place. Grab cans or 2 liter bottles from a cooler. Also CASH ONLY!!!

Great little take out place. The chicken w/cashews and hot and sour soup are the best anywhere. I only wish they accepted debit/credit cards.
