Bagel Boss

Not a fan of the bagels at all but they have great little rolls with poppy seeds on them that im convinced have crack in them. Im totally addicted to them. Had to deal with some nonsense this morning as usual so i was passing by and stopped in quickly. It was packed with the usual annoying long islanders who don’t move and let you order but stand there like a statue since you know they are SO important. The workers there are so nice i do not know how they put up with the customers. They must drink heavily. I got my rolls, a bag of chips and large iced tea for the low price of 8 $, yeesh. With that price there better be some drugs in those rolls. Great rolls, expensive tea, rude customers, happy staff. Enjoy.

12+ years on LI and I’ve never had any bagel from any Bagel Boss location. I remember a friend I used to work with raving about the ones from the Hicksville location. So I finally made it in.
Some people mention the staff is rude, they especially single out one guy who seems to be overly engaging. Well I’m pretty sure my wife and I dealt with this fella the morning of ¼, and we found him to be pleasant and not at all rude. So he engages people, I like talking to people too. As far as the rest of the staff, we ordered the usual bagel with cream cheese and egg white wrap, we had it in well under five minutes — very different experience from L&E.
The place is also one of the bigger ones in the area, all kinds of items besides bagels. Also looks very clean.
The egg wrap worked, but the bagel wasn’t all I thought it would be. With all the hype leading up to it, maybe my expectations were too high.
Torn between a 3 or 4 star review. Service was friendly and efficient, egg wrap was great, but it’s a bagel shop — and that was the worst thing we had. 3 for now, but I’ll come back and see how the bagel is.

What can I say, its a bagel place, if you like over sized bagels then this is the place. The variety of bagels are ample and good assortment of cream cheese. Never had an issue here, go in pick a bagel, pay and then leave, very simple…

After trying every bagel place in the area, Bagel Boss is the clear winner. I should have known that from the start, growing up in Plainview and being accustomed to the Hicksville location’s high quality. When the bagels are fresh, they’re near perfect. The spreads are delicious, the staff is extremely patient and friendly. Only downside is the crappy parking in the front from the bro-​mobiles driven by the Extreme Gym attendees.

Staff is slow, horribly rude, and overcharges with price. Had 2 employees arguing how they should’ve charged me more for my bagel, because they accidentally put extra cream cheese

Business could be run a bit smoother, but overall, great product.
Kosher, fresh, and delicious.
I get the onion bagel toasted with cream cheese, on the regular. Also definitely check out their special iced coffees. Clean and quality, better than the other options around.
Recommend: Iced crumb coffee, DELISHHHH!

Bagels just raised to $ 1.10 per and coffee prices on the pricing board are outdated for years.

Besides the fact that their food is the best ever, the staff is friendly and organized. I called to place a delivery order to my friend’s house for the following morning and they were extremely receptive to my needs and delivered everything I asked for, including the note I requested. Right on time, too! Pleasantly surprised with Bagel Boss’s service, highly recommend this local gem.

Bagels are average…

This place is the best !!! The cranberry Apple tuna is delicious. The veggie tuna is great too. The bagels are really good. The ice coffee is amazing. I prefer this place to merrick bagel café.

Great bagels. Light veggie tuna to die for. Silky melt in your mouth nova. Phenomenal iced coffee served from cooling circulation tanks. Amazing catering. Hot foods are also fantastic. Clean. Highly recommended. Owners really take customer service seriously.

Had Bagel Boss Merrick cater a small affair for a client. They LOVED the bagels and appetizing (and they are finicky Long Islanders). John, the owner, laid out all of my options and made ordering easy.
I chose to order from them after enjoying two superb breakfasts. Flat bagels are great, and their cooked breakfasts (e.g. eggs and cheese) are excellent.
Sorry I did not have the chance to run into the knuckle –ragging miscreant who posted a deranged rant on ⁹⁄₇ (Glatt Kosher certified restaurants should start selling meat because Brock just crawled out of his mouse hole?)
A top choice when in Merrick…

Bagels are large, but average. If you have the misfortune of being helped by Marty, the loud mouth, inappropriate idiot that attempts to be funny and engaging, it makes an average experience even worse. There are better options in the area, such as bagel plaza and town bagel. The bagels are better and you don’t have to deal with such an ingrate!

New to town, tried it out the other afternoon. The bagels were a little hard, maybe they should of told me that and offered to toast it but that wasn’t the case. I will try it out again. Maybe in the morning so they are fresher.

I used bagel boss for catering. Order a few different product different bagels, Locks, tuna salad etc. I can say the bagels where made excellent. The tuna salad was good. Three stars because when I placed the order it was not ready for the time I asked for.

A good bagel is a thing of the past. This place, and every other bagel place in Merrick and Bellmore prove that fact. When BB first opened at this location many years back they did well by making good bagels. But as is too often the case with many food establishments, things go down. It’s also one of the pricier bagels, but they must have made all the other bagel shops nearby raise their prices too.

Well this was my first time at the establishment. I’m trying to eat healthy and I was unaware that this was a kosher deli and I had asked for Turkey and egg on a flagel. The person behind the counter decided to give me an attitude. I’m not of the faith and they seemed very unpleased I was unaware of what they served.
All in all start selling some meat and get with times.
Pretty sure they spit on my flagel that probably softened it up bc it was as hard as a piece of cardboard. Thanks for the terrible sandwich

Everyone was very friendly in here.
Flagel was the side of my head and it had a lot of cream cheese. A LOT. My boyfriend loves that. I don’t but better too much than too little!
Not too expensive either.

Not a fan of their bagels

Being the Boss means your the supervior, manager, you know the head honcho. Well the name is appropriate because this is the finest local-​chain of Bagel Shops around. A recent visit was rewarded with an excellent Egg Everything bagel with lox and a shmear. The bagel was warm, fresh as could be. I think the side salads which are numerous are just as good and somewhat underrated. I stop here and get chicken soup when ill as well. Good coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Big selection of snapples and cold drinks. Plenty of staff ensure even when crowded, the line keeps moving. Love this place and return here often. Coupons do pop up in local papers so keep an eye out.
