Within 5 minutes of walking into the store, the salesperson told me I didn’t want the chair I was sitting in and had disciplined my two children twice; the second time telling them to sit in two particular chairs. They were not unruly nor were they running around. They were just playing with each other in close proximity to me. I then took out my cell to take a picture of the chair I apparently didn’t want and was told no cell phone pictures allowed. I said I wanted to show my husband. The salesperson said I’d just have to bring him in to show him. Really? I’m thinking you either don’t trust your product or your price point. Then he told me that if I wanted that chair, I would have to buy two since it came in a box that way… not really a problem since I needed six. Additionally, there would be a charge for assembly. Both my husband and I are pretty handy, but I had a sense that self-​assembly would have been frowned upon or just not an option.
After the salesperson telling my kids where to sit, I had had enough. I clearly had not seen the whole store (which is not that big) since the salesperson was tailing me. I told the salesperson we were leaving (it should have been clear from my tone of voice I was annoyed) and he didn’t stop me or say goodbye. A shame since I am a local customer that has wanted to stop in for years and they seemed to have a decent selection had I been given the time to look around.
