This restaurant was such a surprise in this little town. It is cheery with local artwork and fun décor. But the food Is exceptional. I was impressed with the variety and the veal specialty of the night is always different and creative. Fresh ingredients and decadent desserts

I really enjoy the salads and the chicken orzo soup. They are both always fresh. My only qualm is that the salad size changed(less chicken, less salad) but the price stayed the same. I still go there sometimes; just not as much as before(year ago).

We stopped on a whim — starving passersby, slaves to our GPS. What a find! The food is fantastic. Comfort food with loads of flavor is guaranteed. Staff is friendly and full of character. Prices are very reasonable. If you’re looking for ambience, this isn’t the place for you. If you’re looking for a gold mine of good food, get in there! We loved it so much, we stopped on our way back through for lunch AND each took a meal to go.

To echo other reviewers, the menu options are great, the food is good but nothing unique, portions are on the small side and pricy for Merrimac area. However the customer service is deplorable from ordering takeout to dining in restaurant service. Eating out should be stress free and fun. You’ve been forewarned.

This place is a little pricey but the Nacho Dip Mexican(black beans, cream cheese, green chilies and cheddar-jack) with house-made tortilla chips is AMAZING! I would go back just for this again!

What a great spot in the heart of downtown Merrimac. this family owned business thrives in the community with many«regulars» that enjoy the variety of flavors of fresh home made food. Make sure to try the lemon orzo soup or the unique twist on the Monte Cristo!

Consistently delicious food at reasonable prices. Their menu changes with the season and every addition is always great. Also all of their desserts are homemade and incredible. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Surprised by the comments about their service because I’ve never had a bad experience.

Rhythm is one of our go to restaurants. The food is consistently good and the price is reasonable. The food is fresh and the waitresses and owners are friendly. It has a great neighborhood feel. The desserts are«to die for», especially the chocolate cake!

I’m done with this place. The food is great but the customer service is awful. I live across the street and am in their fairly regularly and I know that two of the owners recognize me by site. I have put up with the inconsistent service for a while because I want to support a local business. But tonight was the last straw. I ordered take out and walked over to pick it up. One of the owners was at the register. She smiled and told me the other owner(her sister) would help me shortly. I could see my food sitting on the counter ready to go but I figured I could wait a few. Five minutes later another woman walked by me and asked what I was waiting for. I told her«take-out» and she turned and walked away without another word. Another 5 minutes went by. I had been standing waiting for 10 minutes by the register at this point. The owner behind the counter continued to make drinks and ignore me. I watched the other owner(who I had been told would help me) walk to the door and greet two different couples and then go to another table and chat with people. When she went to walk by me yet again I said something along the lines of, «Excuse me. I would like to pick up my food.» Her response? She raised her voice and said«I have two people working at the counter who can who can do that». And then she just walked away in a huff. To be fair, the woman at the counter did apologize and said she was confused and thought we wanted a table. But seriously? To be treated like that by the owners of the business — there is no excuse. Sorry to inconvenience all of you with my $ 43 order. Don’t worry, I won’t be bothering you again.

This small restaurant in Merrimac center puts out consistently good food. The grilled honey salmon with rice and asparagus is a favorite. Service can be hit or miss. Always friendly, but occasionally slow or inattentive. There are probably about 10 – 12 tables, and as many counter seats in front of the open kitchen. Tip: It’s easy to get a table on a weekday, but consider making reservations for Friday or Saturday night. There’s really no good place to sit or stand if you’re waiting for a table.

I have been coming here for a very long time. The food is great but for someone who has been coming almost once a week the service is terrible. Some are lovely but Sharon really should not be in the customer service business. Nobody should feel as though they are not wanted while walking into a restaurant.

Love the food here. Very upscale, interesting and delicious menu without the upscale prices. Knocked off one star because the service is always rather slow(but very pleasant!). Could eat here every day!

I always give 2 opportunities unless the place is a disaster. I decided to come back. 2 blue crab & goat cheese ravioli, one kids chicken nugget, and 2 carrot cakes. Instinctively. my raviolis had pine nuts and arugula on top –_– there Unilocal web page and the menu inside both said the dish was $ 15 each, they charged me $ 20 each. I had a $ 70 take out 00 The flavor is ok, the portions are small, and prices are not only absurd but in accurate. They are not bad ppl nor bad food, just gotta go back to the drawing board.

We stopped here for a quick lunch on a visit to the east coast recently. The location looks like an old bank that was remodeled; it was nice inside with some interesting paintings. We split a cous-cous salad and a Monte Cristo sandwich, both of which were very good. The waitress politely fixed up a kid’s turkey sandwich according to the detailed instructions that the kid provided to her. Service was good, food was good; if we lived anywhere nearby we’d be going back for more.

Really yummy food! I had the fettucini with prosciutto, chicken and asparagus. Wow. It was knock your socks off. Hubby had the chicken quesadilla with bacon and BBQ sauce and he cleaned his plate(as did I, unfortunately… ooph). I don’t understand those that said it was over priced. Are you kidding me? I wouldn’t want to dine anywhere they thought was reasonably priced. Good grief. $ 12 for an amazing pasta dish, served with homemade bread? You can’t beat the price. The only reason I can’t give it five stars is because of the building. This place would be so adorable in a better location. Keep up the good work!

We tried the café Saturday night as part of our«try a restaurant we’ve never eaten at before» challenge. Another home run, thanks to fellow diners on Unilocal!I started the evening with the best dirty martini I’ve ever had… olive-y but not salty and icey cold… yum! At our table, we tried the veal sauté with sun dried tomatoes and olives, bacon wrapped pork, seared scallops, and scallop and shrimp with fettuccine… then finished with a decadent brownie sundae that was rich and delicious. Our meals were fresh and thoughtfully prepared exactly as described. The waitstaff and hostess made us feel as though we were guests in their home. We will be back!

Today is our last night camping in this area. The Rhythm Café has become our favorite restaurant in the Merrimack Valley. We will miss our Monday nights here. Kay had the sausage and penne in a pink cream sauce and I had the pan seared scallops. Both were outstanding meals.

Got take out today, and ordered the Chopped salad w/couscous and got the grilled chicken on top for $ 2 extra to make it a meal. WOW was it delicious. It had avocado, tomato, cucumber, cheese and more(I forget what else, I ate it all all…) also came with bread. The dressing was a cheeses spinach dressing, very yummy. This is the second time I’ve gotten food here, the last was eat in with my wife, and the good was equally as delicious as today. I’d recommend the rhythm rice!

Just ordered lunch from here, and my wife picked it up using their old bank teller«drive thru» window. We ordered the Fettuccine Carbonara and substituted the shrimp for grilled chicken. Wife says it was one of the best dishes she has had in a long time! I got the Tuna Wrap and we shared a chicken & bacon Quesadilla. This place is not to be missed!
