Able Ebenezer provides the comfortable atmosphere and delicious beers you would expect from a local craft brewery. I’ve been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. The open mic nights on Mondays and other celebratory events featuring local talent give the establishment a very authentic vibe. If you want a relaxed and fun destination with a hardworking crew behind the scenes and a dedicated mass of regulars, please give Able a try. Only if you’re Able.

Awesome taproom and pretty good beer as well. I did a sampler and got to try everything they had that day, which included a red, IPA, smoked IPA, Double IPA, and Coffee Porter. The first three were fine, nothing offensive yet surprisingly mild, even the IPAs. The double IPA was great and one of the best beers I tried on a day in which I went to three different breweries. I’m also a big fan of the coffee porter, which is nice and roasty without being too sweet. The taproom is located in an industrial park warehouse, but they’ve filled it with a nice long bar, some tables and a big couch, and lined the walls with bookshelves featuring a variety of books about history and beer. Able Ebenezer also retracts the garage door to make the taproom open air in the warmer months.

One evening I was«Able» to make my way over to Able Ebenezer Brewing Co. for a beer tasting… The place was very busy for a weeknight(as I recall it was a Thursday night). I sauntered up to the bar and grabbed a stool. I went for a flight of everything they had avail“able” that night: Auburn Red Ale(4.5% ABV) Broad Arrow IPA(6.5% ABV) Burn The Ships Smoked IPA(7.0% ABV) Victory Nor Defeat DIPA(8.0% ABV) Tabula Rasa Fruit Beer(7.5% ABV) Kilgore Coffee Porter(6.0% ABV) Of the six brews I tasted, five were ones I’d entertain having a full pint — except for the Tabula Rasa Fruit Beer — it was simply to light and bland for my palate. I very much enjoyed the Burn the Ships Smoked IPA and the Victory Nor Defeat DIPA. I asked the bartender about the name of the brewery, and he recounted an interesting historical tale of Ebenezer Mudgett, an inn-keeper and logger among other things. You can read the historical snapshot of Ebenezer Mudgett here: While I was sitting at the bar, I met some locals who were enjoying pints, a young couple — Ryan and Hannah — who are«Able» craft beer fans, and were very knowledge-«able» about beer — so we had a fun conversation. Great local craft brewery — go if you are«Able!»

I’ve tried 3 beers of theirs, and side me with the beer advocate ratings. It’s just not good beer. It’s okay… I mean, any beer is okay right? Something handed to you at a cookout is okay… something abandoned at your house by a friend is okay… but unless I’m missing a key element of their output,(which I firmly believe, at this point, I’m not) then I’ll implant the Charlie Papazian quote(borrowed from their BTS review on Beer Advocate no less) «If anyone of you here are in this business to make money first and beer second, get the f*ck out!» If you strive to make a killer product first, the money will follow“ Proceed with caution. It’s subpar, though the yokels will have you thinking otherwise. From the Barrel(ftb) or Kelsen both located in Derry are doing some really interesting beers. world class Hill Farmstead or Treehouse are within a long drive that show just how far the spectrum can swing.

Very cool, very nice place. The owner was the bar tender and the flights were great. If you don’t like IPA, check what they’re serving before you go as this was mostly(delicious) IPAs. I also liked the Mere Marianne but it’s a limited time beer.

I have been to nearly every brewery in the state(30+), and while they may not have the most unique beers out there, the ones they do have are quality. No matter your taste you will find something you like. My personal favorite is the Tabula Rasa, followed by Burn the Ships, Emma Wood, and Auburn. The atmosphere is great and the staff are helpful and friendly. I am probably there once a month.

Good beers, nice people. Service can be hit or miss, but hey, there’s only one or two of them there at a time. We love visiting here regardless.

My Husband and I have been regular customers at Able for well over a year now, and we just love the atmosphere. It truly is the ‘Cheers’ of Merrimack! Our favorite times are when Heather is working the bar. We watch her work her tail off, and that’s commendable. I barely see her even get a rest. She delivers an experience– while serving painstakingly crafted local beer, and most definitely always with a smile with your beer– and the smiles are free She’s really great to chat with, when it’s a bit quieter in the bar, especially when you get to know a bit of her story(after all, that’s what Able is all about– stories), you get to know a hard working woman who is fun-loving and really sweet. She really knows her beers, and will always point you in the right direction, if you’re a newcomer to Able Ebenezer. Now, the beer. The beer is phenomenal. All of them. From a mild less-hoppy beer– try an Auburn or an Emma Wood, for a hoptastic delicacy, enjoy a Victory Nor Defeat. If you just plain love microbrews, and you want to relax and have a pint in town, you must go visit Able Ebenezer! Right now is the time you need to go try their Homecoming brew. The pumpkins that they use for their brew mash are local, and both owners and employees take a huge part in readying the pumpkins for brew time. It’s a lot of work, and you can taste it in their seasonal brew. Come, sit down, relax, and meet new people! And say hello to Heather!

My husband had a negative experience today but he’s the kind of guy who’d never write a negative review so I’m taking the liberty. We stopped into the brewery on October 3rd at around 2:30 to have a growler refilled. I waited in the car with our dogs while my husband went in. He came out very disappointed with the service he received. He said that the woman behind the counter was very sterile and unenthusiastic. She received a phone call while he was there and gave the same service to the caller as she did to my husband. A couple who appeared to be «first timers» came in and were met with less than the warm welcome you’d expect from a small local brewery who relies on a strong customer base for their success. He just felt all around disappointed with the service he received. I don’t know if this woman is part of the ownership, but if not, the owner(s) should know that she does not make their customers feel very welcome at the brewery.

BIGFAN! I was a history major in college, so the stories behind the names of the beers and brewery bring out the inner geek! On top of that, the beer is terrific and the owners are really great guys. The Ale Room is such a hidden/inconspicuous gem and has an awesome feel. it’s a cool place to chill either after work or on the weekend. As for the beers, my favorites are by far«Emma Wood»(Belgian Summer Wheat) and«Victory nor Defeat»(Double IPA). Prost!

Probably my favorite brewery. Wish they were more widely distributed and bottled, but fortunately for me I live more than close enough to pop up for a growler fill. Try the«Burn the Ship’s» smoked IPA you won’t go wrong.

I love the atmosphere of Able Ebenezer. I tried a flight of all their current beers and most were pretty good. I’d say the Amber was my favorite. Their Belgian was a bit strange, but I could appreciate the style/effort. Pumpkin was great and hoppy. Ultimately, a great place to drink some good beer — and it’s local!

Awesome beer, Burn the Ships is my favorite. Owners are chill and friendly and really passionate about their brews. Great guys to talk to. There is one girl that works at the bar and she is nothing but attitude. No acknowledgement of us sitting at the bar until we flagged her down on multiple occasions, even when it’s slow. When we finally were served, she acted as though we were a hassle. Now we know if she’s working, we’ll skip sitting down for a few pints and just get in and out with a growler fill. I’d love to give this place 5 stars for the great beer and awesome owners, but knocked it down because of the one consistently rude bartender.

Good beer, lousy service. Visiting from out of town, I came in with my bro. We had a couple pints of well-crafted beer. But, each time we went up to the not-crowded bar, the bartender walked right by me, without so much as a «Hello» or «be right with you», to go yap with their friends. There were two bartenders, and they each did this. I have years of restaurant experience, and it ain’t hard to crack a smile at someone waiting, and let them know you’ll be right there.

Fantastic beers. Good crew. Support your local veteran owned brewer. They have added a great DIPA and usually have a seasonal.

While on vacation this summer me and some friends stopped at this brewery. My friends are all very much into beer, and while I’m not necessarily, I still had a great time being here! The vibe is awesome — it’s very«chill» and personal. The bartender, who’s also the brew master, described the story of the place and chatted with us the whole time we were there. It’s the type of place I would love to go to if I had it near where I live, to go relax with friends, try some beer, talk and maybe play a game while sitting at the comfy couch area they have. The story behind the name of the place is pretty cool — you should ask them about it when you’re in there. The Auburn beer was my favorite. Everyone I was with loved that one(and still really liked the others.) Enjoy!

Saw a Facebook post of this place and decided to check it out. The setting I odd. Columbia Circle has a bunch of office /garage combination, prime for Merry Maids and the like. Turns out it work well for a brewery and pub. The pub is tastefully done with leather sofa, nice bar, etc. … The bartender was one of the 4 brewers and ready to talk shop with the home brewers and The beer was good. Four flavors on tap — no fruity crap, but. Session, Wheat, IPA and an interesting smoked ale. I took home a growlers of the session. Can’t wait to refill it.
