Definitely did not get a good first impression upon entering the room. Perhaps it’s the olive green paint color on the walls and bed cover. Perhaps it’s that the rug, chair and walls don’t match. The furniture in the room is very worn and the bed was super soft; not in a ‘ah pillow top’ way, but in a ‘time to buy a mattress’ way. The fact that there was lipstick on the bed cover did not give a reassurance as to the cleanliness of the room and the ring around the tub and dirt around the toilet hinges added to this feeling. Then there are the odd things like the toilet paper is across the bathroom from the toilet. You either need very long arms, or get the paper before sitting down. A few things to note: There is no elevator. The stairway carpet is very dirty, and the walls banged up: no doubt from luggage. Vending machines, ice and coin washer/dryer are on the first floor right off the lobby. The room included a microwave, small fridge and coffee maker. The room heater would not shut off. The wallpaper and floor in the bathroom is very nice. Breakfast included juice, dry cereals, oatmeal, apples, bagels and english muffins to toast as well as butter and jelly. There were sausage patties and powdered eggs that were microwaved in a plastic bag, so if you don’t want a side of plastic with your breakfast, stick with the bagels. The coffee is dispensed from a machine and quite strong. There is milk near the cereal, and single serve creamers. The breakfast room is set up in such a way that the tables are next to the cereal/toaster areas so there was a lot of bumping into my chair. We moved the table as close to the opposite wall as we could, which helped a bit. A re-working of the breakfast area would help a lot. The TV is across from the toaster so only 2 or 3 seats can actually see the TV. I’m not sure if this hotel is undergoing a renovation, or if it just needs a renovation. Some items appear new, while others are very old. There’s just something about this hotel that feels ‘disrespected’.

I was raised with the belief that if I don’t have something nice to say, I shouldn’t say anything at all. …silence… I was tired and the bed was soft. I was hungry and there was food. The individual at the desk, Jeremiah, was the most pleasant part of my stay. Friendly and outgoing, he was eager to please with pleasant conversation. He eagerly provided local info and seemed genuinely interested in providing a memorable visit. Thank you, sir.
