SimonMed Imaging

So I need a lumbar spine MRI with out contrast and no special requirements. I have decent insurance, I work for a large local hospital as an RN. Called this place to make an appointment and they said my copay would be $ 511. Now on my plan I am responsible for 10% and my insurance 90%. I asked for a breakdown of charges, was place on hold for over 10 minutes, nice lady says someone will call me back and explain it. Never happened. So this morning on a whim I called and asked what the cash pay would be for the same test and was quoted $ 480.
I clarified that they wanted my copay (10%) $ 511 vs cash pay $ 480 (100%). The lady said they just bill what the insurance tells them to.
Keep this in mind when dealing with this company. I really wish this review would post to all of simon med and not just this location. Needless to say I am going to urge the 100s of MDs and providers I come into contact with to avoid using this company.

So a update I had my x rays done 7÷17÷15 today is 7÷22÷15 I was wondering why my doctor hasn’t called me so I stopped in and they said they revived my x rays on 7÷21÷15 mind you Simon med said they would send them STAT due to what the tec saw why did it take 4 days to send an important x-​ray to my doctor again because they have terrible customer service skills just read their response to my last review

Located in a converted old bank location, this facility offers the bare minimum. The staff are respectful and pleasant, the wait times can and have been in excess of two hours to have a simple X-​ray done. The waiting room is 12 foot by 20 foot in a rectangular shape, with cramped and uncomfortable chairs. Not the best place for sure but they do what is needed to get your x-​ray/​MRI done. I personally opted not to come back here as some of the clientele sound like they either have black lung or Tuberculosis and I just don’t want to buddy up to them for two hours while I wait my turn…
