Absolutely awful. When a family needs hospice, it is during a difficult time. From the sales pitches to the smiley faces in emails, Sun Valley Hospice was unprofessional. Not only did they not follow the wishes of the person with power of attorney, they directly went against them. The admitting nurse did not read through the chart notes correctly and put a medication on the approved list that was contra indicated. They asked insensitive questions in inappropriate setting with in appropriate people involved in the discussion. They exacerbated strained relationships and probably permanently destroyed these family relationships. I didn’t know the lost of a family member could be made worse but they increased the grieving process ten fold by their careless disregard of the directives put in place. If this was hospice, I never want to be involved in it again. All I can see is that they are a Medicare ripoff since they did nothing. I got no responses to several telephone calls. As the POA I should have been the only one they answered to, instead they went P to the person i told them not to speak with. I plan to lodge a formal complaint with the state.
