I give it a 5 star only bc of the bartenders there!!! I’ll be honest, only eaten there once but the bar staff, especially Meagen, was amazing!!! Food was pretty good too!!! Kudos to the jalapeño ranch!!! Meagen is a badass at swirl drinks and her costumes on theme nights are on point! She works hard, and keeps her customers happy!!! Great smile and personality!!! Go and sit in the bar with her!!! You won’t regret it! Be kind and tip your bartenders, they make your life so much better!!!

We absolutely love this Mexican cuisine. You cannot go wrong with the Jalepeno ranch and homemade flour tortillas. If you like chicken enchiladas then you’ll love these.

Excellent food and service! Love their salsa’s (3 kinds) and the ice cream is FREE… seriously WHAT in Texas is FREE? Oh! And I love the music they play!

As usual, I picked this place because of Unilocal.Pictures of food make me go «I have to try that! «. The 3 different sauces for the chips were ok. The hot and the habanero ranch were too mild for me but had good flavor. Glenda got the brisket tacos which were very good, but the sauce was just a little too sweet. I got the talapia with a creamy shrimp sauce, bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp and the charro beans. I love charro beans and these passed the tastebud test. The wrapped shrimp dipped in the seasoned butter was a hit. Now, the talapia, while delicious, was so light and fluffy it melted in your mouth. I like my fish to have some body to it. Yes, that’s picky, but yes, that’s me. All in all, a very good meal and we will return. But not because of the six screaming kids at the next table. Why is it always me? Because of the food and the free ice cream when you leave. Winner!

At first sight This restaurant has the appearance of a big corporate chain restaurant but after walking inside and ordering food, I realized that this restaurant is very unique and not chain driven. While eating, The owner introduced himself and asked how the food tasted and made sure I liked the beer.
The food is amazing and atmosphere is nice yet interesting. mixed Drinks are good and they have beer on tap (+)

Café Del Rio is a great place! The general manager is wonderful. Food is really good and great prices. Habanero Ranch is Amazing!

I was truly impressed with my entire visit! When we arrived at our table we were given chips and 3 different types of salsa. At the time, house margaritas were $ 2.99, big portion and they do not shy away from the tequila! We were also given home made soft tortillas to enjoy at the table with either butter or honey– these things are amazing, made right in house as you walk in. Meal portions are huge so come hungry! The owner himself brought out our food– super friendly and personable. He checked back with us during the meal as well. Free soft serve ice cream machine by the door is always a plus! Overall an excellent dinning experience, I will recommend to anyone looking for a great Tex Mex restaurant.

My family and I came out to this restaurant based on my SOs friend who LOVES this place. Reviews and pictures looked good– we were excited to try something new!
The place in itself is very busy, standing room only with about a 20 – 30 minute wait. We had high hopes!
My SOs friend raved about this white sauce you got when your chips came out with salsa… it ended up being «just OK» jalapeño ranch. We ordered the queso, that my step daughter said tasted like celery. It was ok, but definitely lacked in flavor.
I ordered the Tex Mex plate Del Rio Duo. It was 2 cheese enchiladas, fajita chicken quesadillas and rice and beans.
The fajita chicken quesadillas were actually pretty good. Large chunks of fajita chicken and lots of cheese! I wish I had ordered a bigger order of them!
The cheese enchiladas were very interesting! To me it tasted like they used the powder Kraft Mac n cheese cheese for these enchiladas. It was like a Mac n cheese flavored enchilada.
I did notice they tend to dice up jalapeños and put them on EVERYTHING. I like jalapeños so I’m not complaining too much about that piece.
I also ordered a peach margarita– it was huge and very strong. Couldn’t taste too much of a peach flavor, but it was decent!
Over all I don’t think I would ever drive all the way out there to eat again– but I’m glad I got try a new place and mark it off the bookmark list!

My wife and I travel for business all around the country. We always use Unilocal to help us decide where to eat. This place is AWESOME! Great atmosphere, food, and staff. We had Jacquelyn as our server. She was a total rockstar! Always on top of it, and great conversation. Jason, the Manager, was also fantastic. He really cares about his customers and made sure we were «full and happy». I truly left feeling like we not only found a place we will eat at every time we are in town, but also made great friends for life as well! And… They have FREE ICE CREAM! Thank you! By far the best Tex-​Mex in town!!! From the habanero ranch to the enchiladas everything here is awesome. If you haven’t tried this place before I highly recommend you do!!! The store manager is always here when I come and stops by my table to make sure I’m doing okay. Great food at a great price, you can’t beat that!

Waitress cute. Free ice cream. Did I mention the ice cream. Good service. Good was ok. Nice and clean.

We stumbled into this place after there was a two hour wait at the place next door. The whole time we were pretty skeptical just because it was a Friday night and there was no wait for a table of 8. The waitress was very young and you could tell that she was new. Setting aside the fact that she seemed to be struggling, our expectations were exceeded. Everything was so fresh and had great flavor, plus the drinks were very strong. Very pleasantly surprised overall. My only issue was that the restaurant itself was very cluttered and cheap looking.

This place has great food with a good portion at a great price. I will definitely be back for more.

I’ve visited here four times within the past few months. I always order the ground beef tacos with the Spanish rice. The portions are so huge. You get a lot for the price. There’s always extra to take home. The staff is always welcoming and I love the music they play there. My husband and I speak to the owner each time we go. He’s such a great guy, always smiling. The last time we visited was less than a week ago. I had the tacos and my husband had a steak quesadilla. The food was perfectly seasoned as usual and this time I decided to order dessert. I had the tres leches cake. Oh my gosh! They give you such a HUGE piece for a very good price! It was so, so delicious. Literally the BEST tres leches cake I’ve ever had in my life! The best! Oh and their margaritas are scrumptious and they have this spicy ranch dip for your tortilla chips. 10 out of 10 on that one! We take a bowl home with us every time. It’s that good!!! Del Rio is one of our favorite places for our date nights. You will LOVE this place. I promise! :)

This is a solid 4 star place, I gave the extra star for the manager Bill, and the waitress Kristina. The service was excellent, and the manager so nice! Now to the food, food was great and in large portions, especially for lunch! They start off with 3 kinds of salsas, 2 red and a creamy slightly spicey ranch. My husband loved the creamy me I liked it but I am more traditional so I loved the regular. Their free tortillas are homemade and awesome also with the squeze butter. For Lunch I had the chicken wrap and cup of tortilla soup for lunch $ 8.99, and my hubby had 2 beef enchiladas with dbl rice $ 7.49. His plate was Huge, and looked delicious, he said it was a solid 4 stars. I loved my wrap! It was huge and had chicken, rice, tomatoes, and queso in it, and the soup was really delicious too. My one complaint is that my plate was only on the lunch menu and I can see myself wanting that for dinner, also I probably could have shared my plate with the hubby and just ordered a cup of soup to go with it, wonder if they would charge the $ 2.99 chips tort and salsa price that the menu says it charges if you don’t order a meal if I did that. Anyway all in all very good and can’t wait for lunch tomorrow to eat my other half. We will be back! P. S. don’t forget the free soft serve icecream on your way out!

If I could give it a zero star rating, I would.
My family and I ate here yesterday, around 5 pm. We ordered mixed fajitas, and today we are paying for it. Around 2 am, my husband, my daughter and myself woke up throwing up, and have been miserably sick all day. I have eaten here in the past and it was always delicious, but after this experience, we will NEVER return again!

Wow! What can I say. It was overall great! Margaritas were 4 $ for top shelf and they were super! I’m a margarita snob too. I ordered the sour cream enchiladas and my friend ordered the spicy beef soft tacos. My enchiladas had shredded chicken that was super tender, sauce was great. Portions are huge… Habanero ranch, yummy yummy! Will be returning for sure!

.Went to eat here Friday night. I sat in the bar and the bartender, Meagen was absolutely amazing! !!! She was so friendly, helpful and on point! !!
I go out to eat on a regular basis as I travel the USA for my job and she has to be the most welcoming bartender/​waitress I’ve ecountered in a very long time! !!
Hands down best service and food!!!
I recommend this restaurant and bar if you ever visit this area. You must go up and meet this wonderful young lady as she will make you feel right at home! !

My husband and I are not fan of texmex food, but we like to give it a try. A friend of us who lives in Allen once told us that she loves Café Del Rio, so tonight we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the waiter brought us chips with 2 differences salsas. I read Unilocalers said that their ranch habanero is really good, so I asked the server and he brought to us right away. The chips and salsas was very fresh. My husband ordered beef enchilada and I ordered 3 beef tacos with rice and potatoes as our side dishes. It was good. They came with very hot spicy jalapeño. We both really like hot spicy food, so we both really like it. On our way out, we saw an ice cream machine. It is a complimentary/​free self service ice cream (forgot to take a picture of it).
Overall, the food was good and the service also was awesome. We will be back again.

Wandered in for a quick bite before the movies and was very impressed. First we were seated quickly and chips and dips were brought. There were 2 traditional salsas and a creamy dip I assumed would be sweet or Ranch like. I was wrong in the best way! It was creamy with a hot bite finish. I could take a bath in the stuff!
Our meal came out in 15 minutes and the food was excellent. The service was prompt and attentive and friendly.
I’d give it 5 stars but for 2 things. My Margarita was warm and I had to ask for more ice and my wife loves to end a Tex Mex meal with a sopa pia which they don’t serve here. All in all a treat and we will be back.
