I just discovered this place not too long ago, and I found out that they are now moving closer to me! They have closed their Mesquite location and are relocating to Trinity Groves in September. I’m pretty excited about this!

Little whole in the wall that has been here for years yet I just stumbled on it. When I first went in I was the only one there but I soon saw that A lot of people knew about it too. I ordered 3 tamales and my fav were the cheese ones. Not saying the other ones were not good, its just that the cheese were better. Nice little place with nice décor.

All was good but not exceptional. The ladies working the counter were very friendly. My daughter and I both had the two tamale dinner combo with a fountain drink. We ordered two four cheese poblanos, a brisket and spicy pork tamale and split them. Two had chili con carne poured over them. Rice beans and tortillas came with the meals. Fair price for a fair amount of food. Overall, it was Okay but neither of us left saying that we had to make it back.

This restaurant is fantastic! I had the pleasure of trying the two-tamale dinner combo(pork) and loved it so much that I had to go right back up to the counter to order a half dozen to take home with me. Absolutely delicious. The location is perhaps a bit smaller than you would expect, but that doesn’t impede any on the experience. It feels very one on one, and I enjoyed that a lot. I’ll definitely be coming back.

This place rocks! Paletas, tamales, guacamole! Yummy! I only work out there on occassion, but I stop on the way home all the time. Try the paleta in any flavor and the tamales are killer! Spicy pork and Four cheese and poblano are my favorite!

This place was great! Loved the beans and rice. The two tamale combo was perfect, although I would have lode to try them all. The pork an the four cheese poblano were fantastic. Looking forward to future visits.

On my first visit, I ordered the brisket tamale and spicy pork tamale. The brisket tamale is $ 1.50, and the spicy pork tamale is also under $ 2. The spicy salsa is good too. The spicy tamale is packed with flavor and super spicy. The brisket tamale has a nice smoked flavor, but the spicy pork tamale taste better because of the spices. I will go back and try the other tamales. The Tamale Diner is small and clean. The service is very good.

This is very good food at a great price. They have a tamale combo with 2 tamales, rice and beans and tortillas for $ 6.50 My favorite tamale was the poblano and cheese. Their bean soup was exceptional. The restaurant itself was colorful and cute. We will definitely be going back.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Hidden behind the Bank of America lies the best authentic South American and Mexican food you’ll find at any price in north Texas. Strolling in to the upscale eatery, you’ll notice original photos of Latin American culture tastefully displayed. This clean and well-lit corner of the shopping center has an honest and simple goal — To feed you the best tamales you’ll ever eat. Not the thin, greasy tamales you can get anywhere but tamales assembled from the freshest ingredients made daily by their modest but spectacular chef. I was lucky enough to have visited with my wife when the owner, Michael, was there. While we were eating, he took the time to answer our questions and share information about the care with which they produce such delicious foods. Most notably, they do not use lard in the preparation of any of their dishes. Also, they make their own chili con carne from scratch making each well-proportioned tamale big on flavor. On the table, you’ll find 3 different made-from-scratch sauces that complement the tamales for anyone’s taste(clearly labeled mild, medium and hot). I had the tamale chili plate — 2 large tamales topped with chili and cheese sprinkled with whole Fritos corn chips all on a bed of Spanish rice. Delicious! My wife, who doesn’t normally like tamales ordered a traditional taco plate which she loved. She said that it wasn’t greasy like most tacos are and had a fresh, authentic flavor. Of course I gave her a taste of my tamales and she LOVED them. She has already asked when we are going back because she wants to order the tamales. My response: ASAP. In summary, give Didi’s Tamale Diner a try. You’ll most certainly enjoy the food and atmosphere. A refreshing break from run-of-the-mill Texican food.

Gourmet Tamales? Really!!! These are fabulous tamales. They have the usual pork, sirloin, chicken and then it gets creative with cheese poblano, and black bean. Have you ever had Guatamalen tamales. Neither had I. Fabulous. Also homemade paletas from real fresh fruit not just juice. It’s small, smart and fun with great food.
