Meat and rolls were great. Green beans were also good. Mac and cheese taste like water. That said, no matter how good or bad the food is, I will never forget the smell of the men’s room. If I used every negative word in the English to describe that smell it would still be an understatement. The staff were quick to respond by sending someone in to clean the restroom. The tile In that restroom has to be made of urine.

Since we are in Texas I have to admit that it is generally never a good sign when a BBQ location has gotten to the point to where it has multiple locations with the same name in several cities. Generally this is a sign of financial success, but in the heads of consumers it also means that they have gone«McDonalds» and gone corporate. Then again, many famous BBQ eateries like Lockhart’s and Salt Lick now have multiple locations too. Read on. Spring Creek BBQ in Mesquite has a very convenient location off of 635 at the entrance to the restaurant row there. Parking is not a hassle. The location is clean, well kept, and professional looking. Vintage country music blares away at the doors and continues on as you walk inside. You go to the right where you wait in a line if there is one, grab a bottled drink if you want it, and then a tray just before the meat counter. Here you order your choice of meat, or meats, a man cuts it up before your eyes and plates it up. They asked me if I wanted sauce, and I begrudgingly said yes as I know BBQ at a chain like this simply needs it. Its just a reality of the matter. Just past the meats you can load up sides, and they have all the normal setups like cole slaw, potato salad, corn, beans and my favorite the macaroni and cheese. Finally you get to load on peppers, pickles or onions and grab a drink. This is pretty much cafeteria style. At your table a woman will come by and offer you hot-rolls from a wicker basket. Later the same girl will come by with complimentary Blue Bell ice-cream, a very nice touch. As for the meat, here is my ratings on a scale of 10. BRISKET: 6⁄10 — A little on the dry side, but a nice char and smoke line. Not bad but nothing special. RIBS: — 5⁄10 — Totally average here. Been under heat lamp a little too long. Dry. CRACKEDPEPPERSAUSAGE: 10⁄10. Delicious! Juicy, spicy, hot and tender. Exactly what you dream of in sausage. The rolls and macaroni were also very good. Tea was too hot, it melted the ice down and caused the tear to be watered, which no-one likes, but I understand why it happens and there is not much you can do about it. All in all, this is a solid«avergae» experience for me, not great and not bad either. I would return in the future, but not go out of my way to eat here.

This is a very good location. I cant believe the rating. It deserves 4 – 5 stars. The food is fresh, very tasty and good amount. Plenty of sides and great service. I definitely liked it and will be back :)

The Wife, youngest girl Child and myself went out to eat lunch. We went to Spring Creek BBQ because we were hungry, short on time and didn’t want to drive across town to Raymond’s BBQ in Dallas. With the looks of the building we figured it would be nice. We walk in and noted it was clean and the décor was friendly. We then had to wait for an employee that spoke English before we could order. The choices are very limited. The peppered sausage was good but everything else was bland… even with sauce on it! The potato salad had NO taste at all. For 3 people our cost was $ 47.00. We will NOT be returning. The next time We will drive the extra 15 minutes and go where the food is worth the money and we don’t need a translator to get a glass of Ice Tea.

Bleh! If you live in Texas you know there is an abundance of BBQ options. And knowing that I don’t know why anyone would waste their money or calories on the slop served at Spring Creek. My boyfriend and I both got the pulled pork with coleslaw on the side. I couldn’t stomach eating much of mine but my boyfriend ate most of his out of hunger and his stomach was upset for the next two days. Spare yourself and eat elsewhere!

Mmmm, best Texas BBQ I’ve had. I come here every time I come to Dallas. Oh man, I love the sausage with bbq sauce and the fresh baked bread. Plus the bread girl walks around with a big basket constantly asking you if you’d like more. No. Self. Control. Please don’t bring me any more delicious bread!

Okay for BBQ this place is great. They have some of the best fall off the bone pork ribs, I’ve ever tasted. The all you can eat veggies is a great treat, sometimes you just can get enuff coleslaw or corn on the cob. There chicken is awesome as well. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten there and had a bad experience. They have fresh made rolls which they deliver right to your table side as soon as they deliver them to the bread basket from the oven… Yum. Talk about delicious. These are great. The service is quick, the prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is family oriented. What else can you ask for. Good job all.

We are from California so we were super excited to try BBQ in Texas– to see if the hype was warranted. I have to say we were very disappointed. I ordered a little bit of everything to give the place a fair chance. The best thing on the menu were the ribs, which were average at best. The brisket was bone dry, as was the chicken. The sausage was also nothing to write home about. I ordered 4 dinners to go, and this was what probably turned me off the most, they only gave me a very small amount of sauce on the side. It was absurd since the meat did not already have sauce on them. Really, it was about the same amount of sauce as 4 chicken mcnugget BBQ dips from old Mickey D’s– for 4 full dinners! Maybe it’s just me but I wanna be able to swim in the BBQ sauce if I want! The employees were very friendly so this wasn’t about them — unless they gave me one serving of sauce on purpose. The sides were decent– we liked the fried okra. But how hard is it to screw up frying up okra? I think I will try that hole in the wall Slab’s soon.

Good BBQ… the sauce is a bit weak for me… and the serving of meat is small. But the other stuff… makes up for it.

We were travelers in the Dallas area and opted for Barbeque one evening for dinner. We like to find things spontaneously and try them so that’s exactly what we did here. We keyed in BBQ on the GPS and found this place. We have a 3 year old that had limited his diet these days to mac n cheese and chicken. I should also note that my husband is a meat cutter and his dad ran his own butcher shop and BBQ business for many years so we have a good idea of what we like. We entered the door expecting to be greeted by a host/hostess but we were not. We were a bit put off by lack of instruction considering we had never been here. We put two and two together and saw that it was a cafeteria style setting. We got in line. It was SO noisy and loud that the barely-English-speaking gentleman cutting the meat could not effectively communicate with us. It was chaotic and we just almost took what he put on our plates rather than what we ordered. I wanted 3 ribs, he gave me 6. My husband wanted chicken, he gave him ribs. We moved on. We hoped for a decent choice of sides. Nope. Coleslaw, potato salad, beans, corn, rolls. That’s all that was out. My husband had ordered an all-you-can-eat plate and when we got to the register she reminded him that it was only all-you-can-eat vegetables, that he would not be allowed to make a second trip for more meat. A very misleading menu option if you ask me. My son’s chicken was WAY too overcooked(it was actually fairly slimy and turned to mush as I cut it away from the bone for him) and the mac n’ cheese didn’t even meet my 3 year old’s standards. He took two bites(b/c I begged him to try one more bite) and he wouldn’t touch it again. The rolls were alright, but I’ve certainly had better. The ribs were okay, not fantastic but not horrible, but the sauce was terrible. It tasted like ketchup that they mixed some sugar into and watered down. Ultimately we left with plenty of food still on our plates. We personally did not like this establishment and will not return to it if we’re ever back in the Dallas area.

It was my first time eating bbq in texas. Prices are comparatively same around $ 12. Sliced brisket cooked medium with sausage. unlimited supply of salad bar. The best part of this meal are the bread rolls that are passed around when we sit at the table. Spring creek is a franchise. I think I will check it out again when I travel to texas.

Spring Creek BBQ has been around for awhile, but it was my first time. I never heard good or bad reviews so I was pretty open minded. When you order its like a cafeteria line and you tell the guys behind the glass what you want. It was cute because for certain orders, the guys would sing a little chant to repeat the order. Funny though — even when they repeated their«extra sauce» chant, they still forgot to give my boyfriend the extra sauce he asked for. Normally, I wouldn’t be happy if someone forgot an order request because technically things like that are a given in restaurant protocol. But, the guys were so cute and not to mention good looking ;D You can choose from different meats(beef, ham, turkey, etc) The BBQ ribs combo is about $ 10 and you can choose a small helping of sides. RIBS — Decent, a few were dried out and not chewy CORN — completely removed of flavor. DONOTEAT — it was sitting in warm water which didn’t help the taste because it was all watery MAC&CHEESE — needed salt, very bland POTATOSALAD — good, nothing exceptional FRIEDOKRA — VERYVERYGOOD. I’m not into fried okra and even I couldn’t stop myself from grabbing a handful. The batter is seasoned well and has a good crunchiness to it. The people were very nice and they come to your table to offer fresh warm rolls which go very nice with the meal. Probably the best thing I ate at Spring Creek was the rolls. Not bad for a chain I suppose.

Im not the biggest fan of chain type places when it comes to the sweet nectar of barbeque, but i am a fan of this place. I even met the owner at a wedding once, how bout that?! They slow smoke everything at this place, not only can you see it when you’re walking in, you can taste it. This place is very GOTEXASANDAMERICAATTHESAMETIME heavy, but hey, luckily i’m in to that sort of thing. It’s cafeteria line style too, so grab your tray and move buddy. First you pick your meat, their chicken is the best bbq roasted smoked chicken that i’ve had in town, and the brisket is tender and juicy. They also have a great smokey bbq sauce, which is key. Next are the sides… my faves are the beans with peppers and onions, and their cole slaw is chunky and light, mix’em together and you’ll pass right out. Grab some pepperchinis and a pickle, and you’re in business. And they have this at every location, but i wanted to give this one more credit than any of the others. There is a girl that brings around fresh, delicious rolls that melt in your mouth, and she couldn’t a nicer employee. She even offers to refill your drinks(only happens at this location) and thanks you for coming when you leave and pass by her roll station. Oh, almost forgot… that roll station also cooks peach cobbler that they top off with Blue Bell ice cream… if you’re feelin froggy
