Visited this little gem today! I was looking for another mediterranean place that was closer to my house and quicker to get to than Lebanon. This place is perfect! The guys were nice and helpful for my first time here. The chicken shawarma was marinated perfectly and the hummus was amazing! I’m big on the hummus, kinda makes or breaks the deal lol. We also had chicken and steak kabobs which were great. The kabobs were cooked to order and came with grilled veggies as well. This is definitely my new go to restaurant! It’s also half market half restaurant so grab what you need while you’re there!

This is the best Middle Eastern restaurant in Metairie. Great chicken shwarma. I have been coming here for years. Very convenient and reasonably priced.

Most dining experiences in mall food courts can be just okay because of the«fast food». I got here at 11:15am, the Greek salad with chicken that I ordered was very fresh. The romaine lettuce was crisp and green, the chicken shawarma on top was very tender and moist. Just perfect! Both servers had a smile and both told me to have a blessed day with my completed order! I left happy, thanks.

One guy stated«he went to cleo’s, lebanon’s may be his new 2ND!». Go to Byblos MARKET and it will be his new 3rd“ Dan h. & I can both be wrong. If you like the CLEO spices as if you’re in Timbuktu – they have enough turmeric here to make grape leaves taste like 1600 grit sandpaper as well!!!

The exterior is your basic stand alone building. The inside confused me… is this a grocery store, a deli, a restaurant? It really doesn’t need to be defined, but it is more half grocery store, half deli, with a quality of food and service that surprised me in a good way. Prior, my only experience is with their front in the food court at Lakeside Mall. Here, the interior is neat and clean. The service is awesome, and friendly. You come in, order at the counter if you are eating their prepared food, and the prepare your meal right in front of you. The food was beyond reproach. After ordering, you seat yourself. The market has a variety of items at reasonable prices. I definitely will be back!

Whether you go to Byblos Market(and wonder if you’re even in the right place because it looks like a grocery store) or the mall’s food stand, you cannot go wrong! I love Byblos for fresh, juicy, delicious Greek cuisine. After you eat their hummus, you will never want the store bought kind again(like Sabra). I especially like Byblos in comparison to Albasha in Metairie because I feel like it’s busier, which means food is being made more often and it seems fresher. Albasha is always dead when I go, and I often wonder how long ago the schwarma or hummus was made. I could be wrong though; it’s just my perception based on feeling like Byblos is fresher. No complaints at all… and I’ve been to both locations at least 5 times this year.

My wife and I came here to eat. We were referred by a friend of ours. so happy we came! The food is delicious, and the man that fixes the food is very polite. We felt like we were eating at a good friends home. Highly recommended!

Authentic Lebanese. Great kibbeh, tabouleh, and hummus. Favorite medditeranean food in the city.

repeatedly OVERCHARGED. I wondered why my bill always seemed higher than the prices on the menu. I watched closely tonight as the owner charged me 8.99(platter price) for the 7.59 sandwich. I asked without making a big deal, «hey, that’s the sandwich?» yep. This isn’t the first time I’m pretty sure. I won’t be back. That’s cheating. WATCHYOURBILL if you go here, they will overcharge on purpose. I had caught them previously overcharging for labne and made them correct it. I will not return. Shame on thieves and cheaters.

For some reason, I crave Greek when I’m on the road for work. My rep brought me here for the first time last year, and I’ve been back a number of times since. I usually get the same thing, Gyro platter, which comes with Hummus, rice, chicken and lamb, Greek salad, and a pita. I’m stuffed afterward if I finish it off. Sometimes I throw in an order of falafel too, and just eat half of the order. The falafel is also very good. If I was local, I could see myself eating here regularly.

Byblos Market is the grocery/restaurant hybrid of the chain of Mediterranean restaurants in the the New Orleans area of the same name. I figured this location would be a grocery store with a small counter in the back for take-out, but there was quite a few tables of seating. As a first timer, I was a little taken aback when I walked up to the counter and was not acknowledged. Luckily, I spotted the menu taped to the counter and was able to look over it. I realized that orders were being placed at the register and as I was walking away, it was at that point, the guy at the food counter finally asked me what I was ordering. Towards the end, they warmed up a little bit but unless you speak their language, you will feel ignore because they barely look up and talk in native tongue amongst themselves. Ultimately, I took the Chicken Shawarma entrée I ordered to go. The dish came with a Salad, Rice Pilaf, Hummus and Pita Bread. The price may have swayed me opinion a little bit, but I was pleased by the quality of the chicken which was flavorful and very tender all white meat. The salad was good but I wish it had olives, the Rice Pilaf was so-so(it was like eating plain white rice) but the quality was good and the hummus was delicious and creamy smooth. If you don’t want to take my word, I will say that the place was pretty full during lunch and with people of Mediterranean decent so that speaks for something.

Meh. It wasn’t horrible and the prices are cheap. $ 8 for a Gyro and it comes with a salad and hummus. The meat was dripping grease. The salad was wilted. The hummus was bland.

I had Middle Eastern food on the brain and Lebanon’s is my usual spot… but, alas, I was at work, which is too far to get there and back in a reasonable amount of time. Then I remembered Byblos Market, which is down the street from my office. I’ve eaten at the restaurant on Magazine and thought it was ok, so decided to give it a try. I went in not knowing quite what to expect. They have a few aisles of groceries and some refrigerated items. Then, they have a long deli counter with and several spits of roasted meat behind the counter. Oh yeah. I decided to order off the menu and got a a falafel appetizer and the chicken shawarma plate to go. I picked up some olive oil, Jordan almonds and halloumi cheese while I waited on my food, which took all of about 5 minutes. I paid and took everything back to work. Oh my moussaka… it was FANTASTIC. I’m uploading a picture of my box of food with all it’s deliciousness. My coworkers flocked to me wanting to know what smelled so good. It was a ton of food, I barely made a dent in it. I haven’t had falafel in forever, I had almost forgotten just how much I love it. The appetizer came with four balls, a piece of pita and some tzatziki sauce. Next time I’m going to just get the falafel pita. The shawarma was tender and delicious, it was served on top of a bed of basmati rice pilaf. The hummus was smooth and tasty. And there was a salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing and some of the best feta I’ve ever had. I still can’t get over how good everything was. And the prices were very reasonable on both the prepared food and the groceries. The men working the counter were helpful and friendly. Byblos Market is definitely going into my regular rotation.

I love me some Byblos Market. This place is extremely close to my house and work, and the food is the bomb. It’s not quite as good as Byblos the restaurant, hence the 4 stars, but it is for sure the finest choice for Greek food in the immediate vets/causeway area. I usually get the chicken shawarma salad. It is so ridic good, I can’t even tell you. They use the freshest feta cheese, just the right amount of dressing, it’s massive, and the chicken is cut off the spit thingy right before your eyes and has the most fantastic charred yumminess ever. Ky often gets the gyro salad(equally yummy), but he recently got the lamb shank plate. I CANNOTTELLYOUHOWKICKASSTHATMEATWAS. It was falling off the bone and so supremely seasoned you just would not believe. The dolmades are also very good and the hummus is perfect. I have not had the baba ganoush, but I assume it is every bit as good as the hummus. They have SO many choices lined up cafeteria style, it’s almost overwhelming. If I was ever able to quit that salad, I would, and I would love to try just a little bit of everything. It may take several hours and cost a pretty penny, but that sort of food orgy just may be worth the time and inevitable 5 – 20 pound weight gain. Before I conclude, I also want to point out that the owners/purveyors are super, super nice and they certainly recognize and love their regulars. You can’t always understand them because they are Greek as all F*CK, but they sure are cool dudes.

This is the same food you can get at the Byblos restaurants for a cheaper price and larger portions. Some of the food certainly gets up to four stars but on average it is about a three star place. It is also a market that has all sorts of interesting middle eastern grocery items that you can’t really find anywhere else in the area. It is like a cafeteria style dining arrangement where you order your food or you can choose things from the hot plates. Most of the things I’ve gotten from the hot plates haven’t been as good as in the restaurant so I usually go for one of the plate specials and those are almost always good. The stuffed lamb plate was one special that I didn’t care for as it was just lamb mixed with a bunch of rice and I missed my salad and hummus that comes with most of the other plate specials. You get a lot of food here so it is a great value and an easy place for a quick lunch. It is also right next to the Black & Gold store so you can grab some Saints gear and get ready for the game before or after lunch!!!
