Took a star away simply because of the price. Getting their medium sized burrito with shrimp and chicken is the way to go but it’s a bit on the pricey side. It went up to $ 4 extra. Everything usually tastes very fresh and well cooked sans the cilantro rice. I doubt they cook it. I assume they simply splash hot water over it and call it done. I’ve gotten it 3 times before I finally learned my lesson. It was like having trying to chew gravel. What keeps me coming back here is the service. The employees are very friendly and they move quick.

This place is awful and very inconsistent. Ive been to all the izzos in new orleans because i love the food but this one here made sure i never return again. Nasty customers service and rules change every time i go. Also theres zero personality and no one knows much of nothing. Take a little money and train these people. Start from the top down. I alway get the veggie because i don’t eat meat. At the westbank location and the magazine location i get the guacamole on the side to go with the chips. First time i went to this one they said i have to pay for it. Im like it comes with the veggie and ive gotten it at least 10 times at the one on Magazine with no problem. Manager said ok you can get it this time. When i got to the register of course i was mad then she said you are right it does come with the veggie thats why you dont have to pay. she apologize and Im like cool. I go back a second time they tell me i have to pay i explained i went thru the same thing last time and the manager said long as i get the veggie i can get it on the side. Long story short, the same manager changed her mind once again and said yeah you have to pay. I said dont worry im never coming again. Customer lost. Please figure out the rules.

Dear izzo’s, Please bring back the black styrofoam to-go containers. I got home and my food fell through the white paper plate. It left me with a soggy mess!

I’ve always found Izzo’s overpriced but have typically enjoyed my meals there. This past Wednesday was a different experience. For some reason the ordering process really stressed me out. Maybe I was just tired but something about it felt hectic. I may be crazy but the size of the salad seemed smaller, but the prices haven’t gone down. Um, no I don’t want to add mushrooms for an extra dollar. I am already spending entirely too much for a salad with wilted lettuce. I would spend less money at a full service restaurant such as Carettas where the chips and salsa are free. Don’t get me wrong, I normally think the food tastes very good. I like the salsa and the pico. This time just wasn’t very pleasant. The ordering felt stressful and the lettuce in my little salad was wilted. Also make sure if you want cilantro that you ask for light cilantro because if not then all you will be able to taste is the cilantro.

Food is decent, not«authentic», but it is satisfying. Last time I went I ordered a flour tortilla super felony and got wheat. I noticed after I got it to the table and pointed it out to the server who made it, but nothing was done to correct or remake it. I still go back cause it’s still a burrito. Just pay close attention to what they are doing.

The food was ok but I could not overcome the horrendous odor coming from near the soda machine. It smelled as if something sweet had been there for a while and spoiled. They also had a storage room door open and I noticed some food product that was on the floor. I hope that’s not how most of their product is stored.

Amazing staff and Oh so good food! We unknowingly came in 5 minutes before closing and they were as nice as if it were the lunch crowd! That being the case they were out of a few things I wanted in my burrito. I jokingly said my burrito is sucking but they jumped right up and made up for it! By far some of the best customer service I’ve ever had and did u mention that the food is flippin DELICIOUS?!!

I have come here several times because it’s so convenient but today I tried the chipotle ranch sauce. I was skeptical of it because I’m not a huge fan of cilantro so the worker said she would put some on the side for me. BEST sauce in the whole place! It’s so good I had to Unilocal about it! I must admit, this was quite a happy surprise to my day. It’s got the usual ranch taste but with a nice spicy kick and a herb flavored tang at the end. When you come here, get the ranch sauce and thank me later!

The super felony and misdemeanor were the same size. Regardless of what the walk shows. Must be a new policy. When asked the counter person said it depends on what you get put on your burrito. We both had the same amount of scoops.’. Beans, beef, etc. we had I scoop of ground beef on one, and one scoop of steak on the misdemeanor. Shows how some people can be a flip-flopper worse than politicians. The size chart on the wall means nothing. What a waste of $ 19 for 2 small burritos. Next time it’s chipotle for me. It was nice to be compensated for drinks because someone forgot to grill onions. But on a to-go order with 10 liters of coke at home the point is rather moot. Like a cookie would have been better. Sorry izzo’s same stores are all over the place.(Service wise)

We went in for lunch last week food was good but the girl helping us was very rude! I asked what the seasoned chicken was seasoned with she looked at me like I had three heads and said she did not know and that people never ask. Looked at her coworker and they both looked lost! How do you either not know because you where not trained right or never asked! People do have food allergy and you should know this answer. I asked my wife which is a waitress for the last 6 years if that was uncommon question about what is it that I am about to eat ask questions. She said its very common BC people don’t want to get sick to ask questions and not give snoody looks and roll their eyes at questions like they did to us. I understand some young people think every question is inconvenience but its your job.

I frequent the Covington location and have been very disappointed in the decline in quality and service there. THIS location is doing it right. The employees are courteous, lively and fun. The food looks more fresh and simply tastes better. Manager of this location should go train the manager in Covington.

This is the local version of Chipotle except this place don’t care if its healthy or not(hey we are all adults and can make our own decisions). Although you can make your order healthy based on what you get or you can make it as unhealthy as you want. This is subway style(although I hate subway, review to come); you order it and they make it in front of you. First, you order your burrito based on size, and despite what Sex in the city tells people, Size doesn’t really matter here.(wait that joke was super lame, but I’m too lazy to hit backspace so deal with it). I find the regular and the super are pretty much the same. Really the size depends on who makes your burrito. Some employees pack it so full that they can barely wrap it and some cane wrap it twice over. So that inconsistency can be annoying. They have steak, pork, beef, Shrimp, two types of chicken(white meat and what looks to be a marinated pulled dark meat) and a veggie that allows you to have avocado, mushrooms or Guacamole at no extra charge. I usually go for the veggie with Guac, black beans, rice, and all the assorted toppings and sauces of my choosing; And that my friends is where Izzo’s really shines, the toppings. So they have a great variety from queso, to sautéed onions, roasted corn, fresh and pickled jalapenos, pico, tomatoes, and much much more. They have a terrific set of different salsas and sauces which include a southwest Caesar that is a MUST have. Quick tip is they have fresh lime juice as well that always brings out the flavors of my burritos to their potential. You can get all of those toppings on a burrito, taco, or even over chips in a nacho form(like I said the unhealthy but delicious option– get your toppings on the side to save you from soggy chips!). They offer meal deals that come with chips and queso or guac and can easily bring your entre to well over 10 bucks depending on your choosing’s. I do have to say I pick the veggie option 1) because all of there proteins’ taste seem to get lost in the vast amount of topping I choose and 2) because I love guacamole and just don’t wanna pay a lot more for one little spoon full of it. The Good: Great options solid price Southwest Caesar Healthy options The Bad: Can be inconsistent too much $ for Guacamole(come on man) The Ugly: I really don’t know who came up with the designs for their trash cans, but I hate them. How am I supposed to throw away neatly all my garbage and filth in hole that is no bigger than my fist. If I want all my trash be thrown away and look like an upstanding human being I have to stick my hand in that black hole of garbage! So I usually just aim for the hole, get about 30% of my trash in there and run away. bummer.

I’ll just give you the facts. I order a chicken and cheese quesadilla plain. The last FOUR times(no exaggeration) I’ve come to this Izzo’s, they’ve forgotten my order. Literally forgotten. I’m usually a huge Izzos fan, and the food is good, but geez, get it together people.

Ugh. This place was gross. We came here on a weekday afternoon hoping it would help to fill the hole in our hearts for delicious mexican food. Let me tell you, it does and will not. So we got in line and even though there were a bunch of employees working the line it went so slow. Finally we get someone to take our order. We got a large order of steak nachos. The counter and the food containers were so messy and had drippings of other foods in them so if you have an allergy I would not even try the food here. Once again, even though it was just a matter of putting toppings on nachos the person working took forever and the«queso» they put on everything was cold by the time we even got to sit down. Once again, it is not even busy and the tables and floor are messy with food scraps and napkins. I also noticed not one employee changing gloves or washing their hands throughout our visit here. Ew. The food was just a sad mixture of cold and lukewarm bland toppings. The chips were soaked in the cold queso gloopy crap and totally floppy. I dumped a ton of salsa and got extra jalapeños which was the only saving grace to this meal since everything else on the nachos tasted bland and had the texture of glue. Finally, this place is way overpriced for the crappy nasty food. Just make the drive out to chipotle or go to taco bell even or you know, anywhere else.

Seems awfully pricey for a burrito. By the time you add a drink, you can enjoy sit-down service somewhere much nicer.

3.5 stars Yes it’s a chain restaurant, but if you’re craving a burrito and you’re in the Metairie, LA area; then this would be a solid choice. There are three sized burritos and for lack of my ability to remember what they were actually called, I’ll simply refer to them as small, medium and large. I am a big eater(really big) and the medium had me so full from lunch, that it affected my ability to eat a full dinner some 4 – 5 hours later. When you walk up to order your food, there are three(life sized) burritos on the wall to help you decide what size to order. There were several different tortillas to choose from including, corn, flour, wheat, tomato, spinach and pepper. Next you simply choose your meat(chicken, ground beef, flat iron steak, pork) your bean type(refried, pinto or black) and then top it off with all the fixins’. If you are a vegan, you can go for a meatless option. There are also other dishes on the menu, but when you’re in a burrito joint, I’d stick with the burrito. The combo burrito will get you chips and a drink, and you can choose between salsa or queso for you chips; which were unbelievably fresh, as if they were just deep fried on site. Cost for a small and medium combination was approximately $ 24.00, which I feel is a little steep for«fast food», but the flavors were good and the quantity was excellent. Overall, this was a good experience. The food was hot and fresh, the restaurant was clean, cool and well designed and the service was quick.

Yeah it’s a chain but it’s very special diet friendly. If you’re a veggie or a vegan or gluten free, they have something for you. The food is pretty good quality for a chain and I like being able to customize to my exact taste… although I’m sure the servers want to throw something at me. «I’d like 1 tablespoon of this and a smidge of that…» OK I’m really not that bad. I like being able to refill my own beverage too.

Hey, before«rolling your own,» know this… By «illegal» I suppose what they really are referring to are the sizes. Jaysus!!! I witnessed a grown man unable to finish the«small» burrito. Kinda ridic, but hey, people love them their infant-sized burritos. Or so they think. Do yourself a favor. Your eyes really are bigger than your stomach. Know your limits. I had every intention of ordering a burrito after getting a glimpse of all the fresh ingredients, but then was plagued by thoughts of days of yore… When scarfing down a burrito for brunch meant not needing to eat for the rest of the day. I didn’t want that going on with a scant few hours of being awake ahead of me, so I passed and had some of their better-than-decent guacamole instead. If you get it as a side order, it comes in a largish bowl(of course it’s large, what isn’t there?). Overall, I was very impressed with the burrito assembly line going on here. You really can get whatever you want in there. You can even get a BOWL if you, uh, don’t wanna ROLLYOUROWN. Muahahhahahaha Come to think of it, I actually can’t recall the last time I had a burrito… Possibly a sad affair from a local joint about a year and a half ago. No matter how good it smells/tastes, it just never seems worth the belly bomb. Maybe some day. I’d do worse than return here!

I’ll say it’s OK but mainly because it’s not too hard to throw together a burrito. The rice and beans lacked flavor that other similar places have but I like that they vegetarian options and different sized burritos. A smaller size would be a good idea since their sizes are like XL, XXL, and Obese. This may be the fat kid in me but I was disappointed in the jello-shot size cup the queso dip comes in if you order chips and queso. It’s runny velveeta type cheese so if you’re into that like I am then you’ll like it.
