Not to be confused with the Jefferson Parish Library on West Napoleon, this is the Old Metairie Branch. I was in search of books to help me study for the GRE and the ones that looked the best led me to here. This library is very very small and feels much like a close-knit family type of place. The selection is not very wide at all and since it is on one floor with one giant room there is not much place to hide. I guess this is good for bringing your children to so you cannot lose them, but if you are a person needing peace and serenity you might feel claustrophobic here. There is a small Garden in the back to sit around nature and maybe read a book if it is not too hot out. The staff is very friendly though and it does maintain a nice Old Town feel to it.

This is my haunt. They have a conference room, plenty of space, and two study rooms that are 75−80% available. They have a couple of tables for with outlets. Need a break? Gas station across the street, and there’s a beautiful garden behind the library with a walking path.
