I stumbled upon this great bar a couple months ago. Visited again today. Apparently, new owner Donny took over a few months ago. The food and the service are great. Large bar, good place to watch a game, but not too loud, good bourbon available, smoking allowed. The menu is very high quality bar food with options. Highly recommended!

I’ve been to Jiggers many times throughout the years, it has been hit and miss. I have to say the changes made over the last few months have been top notch. It looks totally different, they have cleaned it up, with fresh paint, booths, and some remodeling. The food is unreal!!! Jiggers has elevated the Metry bar food game. Highly recommended!!!

So i have no idea how the bar service is. I went there because i know the new cook. I got a seafood plate — crab and shrimp and a potato. OMGYUM. $ 10.00 for a huge plate of food? Yes. please. I plan to return there in the next few weeks to get more of his cooking!

I love in the neighborhood, and have been here a bunch. For the past few years, I’ve heard from everyone in the neighborhood to NOT go to jiggers. I took it as a grain of salt because it’s Bucktown and people are crazy drunks. Anyway, I’m 37 years old and have live in the area for 35 years. Last night, my friend and I thought«hey, let’s walk to jiggers, order food, have a drink(after the game), and vent about our kids’ school»…and that’s exactly what we did. Well, we went, and the bartender basically ignored us. Blonde. Young. So I let it go, while I was talking to my friend. She proceeded to take out spray and wash the bar. Well, at that point, I kinda waved and ordered. She was very rude. Sooooo, she gives me a ticket with all 3 of our orders on it. So I called her over and explained how this and that are on a ticket for him, this and that was on a ticket for my friend, and the others was for me. She says to me in return, «well, I’m not a mind reader». I’ve lived here my entire life. NEVER have i EVER have had a bartender be that disrespectful to me. My husband and I have the utmost respect for servers, being we were one in the past. We understand, but this was totally uncalled for. Meanwhile, I turned to my other friend and was under my breath like, «gosh what the heck? Should we leave? Cancel food orders? Blah.» We were talking about what just happened. As we were talking, the bartender turned around and said, «you know what? I have the right to refuse service to anyone, and I think you should go.» I was baffled. I looked at my friends and said, «ok?» So I pushed my drink to her and asked for my card back. I had an open tab and didn’t take a sip from my drink. She handed me my card, and as I was walking out, she and a guy(assuming the barback or cook) were yelling at me as I walked out. It was humiliating. I’ve never in my life have been ejected from a bar. I’ve experienced some bad service(especially in New Orleans), but never ever like this. I’m not a confrontational person, and this was completely out of the blue. Not bragging, but my husband and I overtip because we understand what servers live by. I could not believe this happened. So i got on the neighborhood group page and let them know, and every single person who replied basically said, «I told you so». I will never return. It was a miserable experience. You do not treat your customers this rudely regardless of whether you’re stereotyping them or not. I understand someone coming and starting fights but i wasn’t doing that. I was speaking to a friend under my breath about what was going on and BAM, out of nowhere this happened. We weren’t going to leave or start anything about It. We understood she was young. I’m sorry, but I thought I’d share my experience. this isn’t the first negative experience I’ve had at jiggers, but this was over the top. I use to bring derby people to jiggers for food and such after a practice/game, but I will not do that again. And in roller derby, a lot of people are hungry after a game or practice.

Been here a few times… it’s one of the only places I actually avoid. The service is horrible and the d-baggedness spills over to the patrons.

Poor service from majority of staff. Food is always poor, service sucks and rarely is ur drink made properly unless its a bottle beer. Bartenders could care less about they’re customers for repeat business they take they’re jobs and tips for granted. I am a server/bartender foot 15 yrs now and am familiar with the industry and customer service especially to others in the industry. !!!

I’ve been in here a handful of times and they used to have a large and popular ladies night where the ladies got to drink free but I don’t think they have that anymore. Every time I’ve visited I’ve just had a couple of beers and left as it just doesn’t seem like my type of crowd and it has always been really smokey. The few occasions I’ve visited this establishment it seems that often there were near fights or actual fights breaking out here so I don’t like dealing with the hassle getting stuck in the middle of any stupid bar brawls. They seem to have a decent menu of bar type food but I’ve never eaten here. They have some pool tables, a dart board and some other entertainment devices. They have a lot of TVs so this is probably a decent place to watch a game.

Went there for the Irish-italian parade. Interesting crowd– heavy tattoos; both men and women. Had a shrimp wrap which was pretty good. My 12– year old son had their burger which was quite good. We tried to convince them that he was a 142 year-old leprechaun(it was St Patrixk’s Day) not a 12 year-old boy but they weren’t buying it. The green beer was PBR and $ 2($ 3.50 inside, $ 2 outside, that kinda pissed us off.) Bartenders were friendly but clearly catered to the regulars.

Large, very smoky place, with an oval bar in center, quite a few TVs hung over the bar. There’s plenty of stuff along the walls to keep you entertained, like 2 pool tables, video poker, dart board, etc. Classic run of the mill sports bar.

Naomi put it best this place has a very weird crowd. Sorry that it is not my kind of bar but when I happen to head in there after getting back in town with some friends for a quick drink before heading home and there is a guy in his early to mid 50’s sloshed at the bar at 3am what does that tell you about the clientele? If you want to relive your college days with drunk guys who think they are mike Tyson then this is the place for you, but if you are looking for a place to relax with friends without all the drama then I suggest you find another place to have a cocktail.
