My boyfriend and I went to Nola Float Tanks today and we were not disappointed. He is an avid weightlifter and spends most of his time in the gym which has caused muscle aches and pain on a daily basis. He fell asleep in the tank and woke up feeling like a totally different person. I also enjoyed the tank even though I was skeptical at first. I am in graduate school, so needless to say, I am constantly stressed. My experience in the tank relieved a lot of my current stress. We both agreed that afterwards we actually felt extremely clean and we were not expecting that result. Spencer(the owner) is extremely helpful and friendly and has an obvious passion for what he does. He prides himself on being available to his customers at anytime day or night and his knowledge of the tanks is evident. The tanks may seem daunting to some, but definitely give it a try. You won’t be sorry.

Customer service was great, but the water in my tank felt kind of cold and it ruined the experience for me. I told the guys working there about the water and they didn’t really say much about it. My boyfriend came in as well but didn’t have that problem, and he loved it. We would like to come back I’m just hoping I don’t have that problem again.

This was a unique experience! I’m glad I had the chance to go. I don’t really have much to compare it to, but the girl who set us up was friendly, and the tank was relaxing. The place looks a little run down in some areas, but overall it was an enjoyable experience.

I preface by saying I have nothing to compare this to, as I had never done a float tank session before. There was a Groupon available for this place, so my fiancé and I decided to check it out. The booking process wasn’t so straightforward. Tried to call and book, but nobody answered even though it was during phone hours. Sent and email requesting a booking time, and nobody responded. Tried online but it wanted a credit card, but since I had a Groupon, aborted that. Called again, left a message. They called back and said to do it online, but won’t be charged when I add in the comments that we were using a Groupon. The place can be easy to miss if you’re not paying attention and the parking isn’t super clear as to where you’re supposed to park. The door said open, but it was locked and nobody came to the door. We knocked and called, no answer. After a few more minutes, someone did come to the door. We signed a few waivers and were explained the process. For two people, each person uses a separate tank. You can also float in a swimsuit or in the nude. So it sounds like it wasn’t a good experience, but once we got to the floating, it was pretty nice. The water is kept at skin temperature and it is pitch black. It is a very relaxing experience. You can hook up your phone to play music in the tank if you don’t want to be alone with your thoughts. If you try to lay as still as possible, you feel like you could be floating in the middle of the ocean somewhere in the middle of the night. There is also a shower to rinse off before and after. Take caution: I accidentally got some of the water near my eye on two or three occasions and it really burns! I had to get out of the tank and use one of the towels they provide to wipe my face.

My husband and I were looking for things to do while in New Orleans because we’ve been many times(and are not interested in day drinking down Bourbon Street — no judgement, just not our thing). We’d seen the Vice documentary on float tanks and wanted to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We opted on our first try to go for the full on 2 hour experience. Since it was my first time, my mind did go through several phases — from acclimating itself to what was happening, to introspection, to boredom, and then to a place where I sort of lost time. I was definitely in a haze for an hour or so afterwards, but not in a bad way at all. This is not what we did, but if i were a tourist in New Orleans and planning on doing this, I’d have dinner ready in your hotel room(or plan on ordering room service), do this late in the day, head back to your hotel room and just chill for the night. Everyone goes to New Orleans to experience the crazy nightlife, but sometimes you need a break from that. Highly recommend this place!

I once drove an extra 100 miles to be able to have a float while traveling in Georgia because there were no Floating locations in NOLA. I couldn’t believe that there were none in this city! I was traveling to Miami and while searching for a location there, this center came up on my Unilocal search and I had to do a triple check to believe my eyes. I immediately went to check the place out and Spencer made me feel at home and after my first float a few days ago, I am ready to have my next one in 2 days. I am perplexed that this is the only location here in NOLA and I am SO grateful that this one REALLY steps up to the plate. If you have never done a floating session do yourself a favor because the effect is out of this World!!! Thank you Spencer and Nola Float Tanks!

I stumbled on this place and I am so glad I finally went to check it out. I had a really good feeling this would help me and I was right. After my 1st float I fell asleep as soon as I got home. It totally relaxed me and that same night I realized my hip pain was almost completely gone! I was in disbelief as I lay there in bed, trying to make it hurt as it always does. The minerals you absorb from the tank are highly beneficial to your body(and most people are very depleted of minerals) so I believe it delivered my body what it needed and relieved some of my pain. I have Lyme disease and liver impairment so my body, as a result of the 2 conditions, is highly toxic. A doctor I see who specializes in riding the body of toxicity recommended I soak in hydrogen peroxide and Himalayan salts as therapy to detox as much as possible. The tank is loaded with these ingredients and magnesium rich Epsom salt so this is a no-brainer for anyone who has aches and pains from chronic illness, or for any reason, to soak in. If you are trying to eat right and detox this is an excellent way to boost your efforts and aid in detoxing. Spencer is beyond awesome and is very passionate about his business and I love that ! I’ve been telling everyone about Nola Float Tanks and I will be going back once a week to continue to reap the benefits of this incredible therapy ! Floating is so relaxing and I look forward to the peace and quiet that the tanks provide. Rookie floaters beware: do not shave, wax or tweeze anything the same day you float! It will burn. My 2nd float was much more enjoyable having shaved the night before ! And ladies, you may want the warmer tank as you can choose between a slightly cooler tank and a warmer one. Floating is my new passion and really one of the only things that has helped me that didn’t hurt me. And one more thing. When you arrive at Nola Float Tanks go around the left side of the building to get in.

So happy I was able to experience this! My boyfriend heard about float tanks via Joe Rogan so I figured for his birthday we would take a trip to NOLA and try them out. So relaxing and the owner Spencer was great!

I’m so happy I found Nola float tanks, seriously ecstatic! I suffer from fibromyalgia and had recently decided to give up on taking medication because it has made me gain so much weight. Floatation Tank Therapy is my new happy pill as well as pain reliever. Anyone who does not know about it should not fear trying it.(You can open the door up at time, know that going in. Your by no means locked up and there is no feeling of claustrophobia once you are in the tank. It’s just relaxing oneness when you truly let go and clear your mind! You have a choice to listen to relaxing music and on my first float I did for about 15 minutes before deciding I wanted the full sensory deprivation experience, and damn I’m glad I made the right choice. Try it for an hour on your first time, then on your second try I highly recommend going in for 2 hours to get the most out of your experience. My pain relief lasted almost a full week until I was back for more! If you have any questions about Nola Float tanks and your a Unilocaler feel free to contact me about questions or tips to get the most out of your experiences… I’m willing to share my new passion!

Had an amazing experience here. As an amateur powerlifter, my body is constantly a wreck. I feel amazing after my float. Anyone with aches, pains, or just in need to get away for a little while and turn off your senses should definitely check this place out.

After having my first experience I was truly blown away. The relaxation was my goal and it was reached. Mr. Spencer gave me a awesome run down on how the machine operates and how to prep before entering. After being totally amazed, scheduled another session in advance, because it was an awesome experience of gathering one’s thoughts, mediating, and relaxing for the mind, and for the soul. I totally recommend NOLA Float Tanks to all my clients and friends.

I came to NOLA Float Tanks while passing through New Orleans on a road trip, and had no idea what I was getting into, other than the experiences that Joe Rogan and other proponents of introspective study had shared online. I was a little worried at first. But, I was VERY happy with my experience by the time I left. Spencer(the owner) explained everything upfront and made me feel comfortable with the situation. The first thing that dawned on me when I was in the tank was that I was in one of the most vulnerable situations that a person can possibly be in, but I didn’t feel unsafe at all because of Spencer’s matter-of-fact attitude and clear passion for his work. He put my mind at ease. After my hourlong float, we talked a little about the experience, and it was clear to me that Spencer loves his work. If you’re interested in floating and get a chance to check out NOLA Float Tanks, do it! You won’t regret it, especially since the price is very reasonable.

I have just returned from my 4th float at Nola Float Tanks in Metairie, La. and it was, as always, extremely beneficial to my mood and overall well-being. This time I was in a lot of pain due to the pinched nerves in my neck, back, and legs when I arrived, but when I left I was virtually pain free. Not sure how long this feeling will last, but I am relishing it at the moment. Kinda wish I had a float tank at my house, but this is the next best thing. Thanks a million, Sidney P.
