Great atmosphere, friendly staff. The BAKED MAC-n-CHEESE is excellent. Smoked baked beans are amazing. Best REALBBQ in the area! Come here for the food leave here as a friend!

Stopped in after a day on the water to order something to go. Cute place — no booths though. The air conditioning definitely works and I wouldn’t have been able to stay without a sweater. The first server we encountered was quite rude in that she literally turned her back and walked away without an answer when I asked where to place a to go order. In other words, she wouldn’t be getting our tip, so she couldn’t be bothered. Lucky for me, what I assume was the owner/her boss saw it – or he at least heard my reaction so I hope he took care of things after we left. Okay, so the food. The ribs were great! The mac and cheese was too watery(yeah, watery — strange huh?) and really not very cheesy or creamy. The brisket was tender, but on the dry side. The baked beans were a nice concoction of ingredients and flavors, but I just don’t think the kidney beans work.

Ate lunch here today with two guests. Why? New business and good reviews on Unilocal!Whoa! Big mistake! Reviews very misleading! A small place, half empty at lunch is not a good sign! Rave reviews about meats didn’t materialize today. Brisket, sausage and ribs all over cooked and shriveled and barely warm! Tasted like yesterday’s leftovers! Side dishes of Mac n cheese served cold! Beans edible! NO excuse to serve this to the customers. Obviously no pride exhibited by the cook! Service very good. $ 60.00 for lunch, wasted! Sorry guys, you won’t last long without pride in what you serve. So sad!

When you walk into the place, its smells GREAT! That and the service are the only 2 positive things that I can say about this place. The waitress was very polite and very prompt. I ordered a combination plate. It had brisket, pulled port and my 2 sides were mac and cheese and green beans(vegetable of the day). When I think of BBQ, I think of smoked meats. The brisket did not have ANY smoked flavor. It did not have a smoke ring. I’m pretty sure the brisket was just rubbed with seasonings and then thrown in the oven, not smoked. It was very dry. Now on to the pulled pork. It had some decent flavor, but again not smoked. I think they just stewed a Boston Butt in what tasted like Adobo or some type of Spanish inspired seasonings. The mac n cheese was the star of this disappointing show. It was actually pretty good compared to the rest of the meal. The green beans were a disappointment as well. I was expecting green beans with some smoked meat chunks in them. NADA!!! Just plain ol’ green beans that were not seasoned. But I guess when you go to a place that only smokes the ribs, they are not going to put any smoked meat in the green beans. Maybe the ribs are good. I did not try them. Unfortunately for Saucy’s, I will not be returning to try the ribs out. If you like smoked meats at a BBQ joint, this place is NOT for you!!! RUN far away from this place!!!

It smells great when you walk in the door! Basic BBQ menu and that’s all it needs. Try a meat combo plate and you won’t be disappointed — the brisket is tender and smoked just right. They also have a great Mac n cheese side and their own BBQ sauce that is worth a try as well. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive which is not the norm for a value priced meal. The place is clean with clean restrooms which is a plus if you are tryng to find a place to eat with your kids. I’m looking forward to another visit so I can try their pulled pork and other items.

5 stars for service 1 star for thats the least amount I could give. The guy who helped us at the counter was very friendly and patient with us. It’s a new business in the area and I am unfamiliar with their food(or rather the names of their food). He helped us order our food and even brought it to our table. You have to order at the counter. The only thing we liked there was the charice sausage(sp?) Other than it, the que wasnt so memorable. However, seeing as how its a new business and they need to figure out a few kinks, we’ll give it some time before returning.

We went to Saucy’s with a group that included children and adults and all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Fun, laid back atmosphere. Very, very friendly and helpful staff. We started with the pork nachos, good, but could be improved with sour cream and jalapeños. Most had the pulled pork sandwiches. All enjoyed them. The special of the day was pork with coleslaw in a dijon mustard. That was also very good. Mac and cheese was brought to our table as soon as it was ready, and it was worth the wait. I want to go back to try the ribs. Glad to have a good BBQ restaurant in middle of Metairie.

This place has some good brisket, great BBQ beans, and nice mac n’ cheese. Continuing the recent trend, that seems to be happening in the fast developing NOLABBQ scene, they offer three distinctive types of BBQ sauce. The brisket was very tender and flavorful but unfortunately lacked the hallmark of a distinctive smoke ring to really give the brisket maximum flavor. The brisket was served with a side of horseradish sauce which was a welcome flavor addition. The BBQ plates here are served with sweet potato«beignets» which seem more akin to baked muffins but still very tasty. The BBQ options in NOLA continue to grow and improve and while this place certainly does offer some good BBQ and great sides the brisket at the nearby Smokin Buddha Bbqieux greatly outshines what is offered here.

I hate to be the first person to give this place a mediocre review, but that’s just what it was to me. I came here twice just to make sure that I didn’t just go on a bad day. The first time I came here my boyfriend and I got the boudin, the Carolina pulled pork sandwich, and the Caribbean jerk pulled pork with sides of potato salad and mac n cheese. I didn’t really get a good taste of the boudin so I can’t really comment on that, but my boyfriend seemed to like it. I really didn’t like my Caribbean jerk sandwich, and I think it’s mainly because I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. I think it may have been a bit to tangy for my taste. My boyfriend’s Carolina was a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw, which I liked much better than mines. The pulled pork itself is pretty tender, but I wished for a little bit more flavor. There are three house made sauces at the table that you could eat it with, and those are also good, but it just didn’t really wow me like I was hoping for. As for the potato salad and the mac n cheese, they were both just okay to me. The second time I came, I had a regular pulled pork sandwich and my friend had the ribs and brisket. Like I said before, the pork is tender so you have to eat it with one of the sauces. As for the brisket and ribs? The brisket was disappointingly dry, and the ribs were mediocre. He literally said that he had had better. The food was lacking for us, but the workers were all very nice and accommodating. I tried really hard to like this place, but I would just have been lying to myself.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch based upon previous reviews. i tell you what, they were not wrong. The atmosphere was great, the staff was very friendly, and the food was awesome. i had the Pulled pork with the homemade baked beans and mac and cheese! My wife had the special of the day which was a pork and portobello quesadilla. Interesting combination that worked out splendidly. We would recommend to anyone looking for some great bar-b-que!

I stopped in for lunch and had the Rib Plate. This was a great deal for the money. I got the BBQ Beans and Potato Salad for the sides and both were excellent. The beans could have been the best BBQ beans I ever had at a BBQ joint. The ribs were just about perfect and quite meaty as you can see in the photo that I uploaded. If I were you I’d get it just like my picture shows and you’ll get full and will be going back for more.

I stopped in here for lunch and left very impressed! Really great BBQ! The plates come with a choice of meat(or 2 for extra $) and choice of 2 sides. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful. The baked mac and cheese is awesome! Tastes very homemade… in fact I might confuse it with my own Italian grandmas mac! They also serve sandwiches and wraps. The slaw and potato salad are not your traditional recipes. They do it a little different, both include spicy brown mustard. I prefer the classics, but it wasn’t bad. It is a casual walk up and order, but they bring you your food. You do have to get your own self-serve refills.

Awesome new little bbq spot! I’ve eaten here twice since they opened and will go again and again. Before this place opened, the only bbq place that I really liked was The Joint, but their location kinda sucks. This place is super easy to get to. It’s clean, updated, and very chill. The owner is all in and will happily help you himself. So that’s the place… now about the food– The ribs are excellent. Really. Get them. You will not regret it. They really don’t even need sauce. But if you WANT sauce, they’ve got ‘em. My favorite is the Carolina style. My husband is a big fan of their original and our son loved the bold. So, you can’t go wrong. The pulled pork is another favorite. And they give you alot! Bring home your leftovers and put them in a tortilla with hot sauce for lunch the next day. YUM! The beans are really good and, I think, have the pulled pork tossed right in. But, my favorite side dish is the Caribbean rice. Not sure what’s in it, but I’d sure like to figure it out. I can tell you that it’s loaded with flavor and has big pieces of pineapple in it. Don’t let that scare you– it works really well in it. Bottom line– we will definitely eat there again and you should too. Would love to see this place stick around for a long time.
