I’m a fan of Starbucks, and the service at this location is fantastic. However, they have one of the worst drive through set ups that I have ever seen. Also, parking is almost non-existent. They only have a few spaces in front of the store and the very small lot next door is a cramped mess. Starbucks corporate shouldn’t even allow a store to open without considering these items.

Sometimes they have bags of dried coffee bean husks available(for free!) to use as compost/fertilizer in your garden, and that’s really cool. Otherwise, it’s a Starbucks, so you probably know what to expect. It’s worth noting that there’s not a whole lot of parking available and the drive thru can be a bit precarious.

The drive-thru at any peak time gives me anxiety and the parking is not much better, so I avoid this location around peak times. Still, I come here often. I know a lot of people complain but I find the service to be just fine. One day they were out of soymilk and I was stuck waiting in the drive-thru line, so the girl gave me an iced coffee for free(no milk, hah)!

I love to study here because there’s lots of natural light. On days when I’m cooped up indoors to study for long hours, the light coming in makes it not so bad. The music can be a little loud(& the employees also) but my earplugs or headphones help. The parking sucks, especially at night if you have to walk to the dark, creepy lot with the dumpster next door. I’m not an avid coffee drinker, however, I am addicted to the soy caramel macchiato, which makes it so hard to try other coffee shops. And with this one being so convenient it’s hard to say no!

I have a serious addiction to venti quad iced lattes. There, I said it. I can do regular coffee and iced coffee pretty much anywhere, but have yet find another iced latte that does it for me like Starbucks. I’m pretty sure they mix crack in with their espresso. This particular location is close to my work plus has a drive-thru.(Versus the location on Magazine that I pass leaving my house to go to work that requires locating a parking spot and going inside.) That’s really the only positive I can say about it. I figure since Unilocal forces me to give at least one star I should come up with something to justify that lone star. I’ve been here dozens and dozens of times. At least half of the time(if not more) my drink is wrong. They’re shooting 100% incorrect for at least my last 5 visits. It is always something. Missing a shot, or even two shots short. Or, the wrong size. Or, so much syrup that I feel like I need a shot of insulin to drink it. Or, hot instead of cold. Even ordering a pastry is a crap shoot. Ask for pumpkin bread and get banana. You name it, it has happened. I’ve tried going inside and it still happens. If I wasn’t able to easily order and receive exactly what I want at countless other Starbucks in the area and across the country, I would honestly wonder if it was me. I’ve sent an embarrassing number of emails to Starbucks corporate in a desperate attempt to address the issue.(Anyone need any free drink coupons??) True, they’ll fix your drink if it’s not right… but when I’m going through the drive-thru, the last thing I have time to do is wait for a new beverage(especially considering how long it takes to sit in the drive-thru. Yeah, they’re crazy slow in addition to grossly incompetent.) You know how they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? That totally describes my relationship with this Starbucks. But not any more. I’m tired of complaining. I’m tired of sending back drinks. I’m tired of writing letters. I’m pretty thick-skulled sometimes, but I’m not a complete idiot. I get it. This Starbucks will never improve. So, rather than give in to the insanity of the continual disappointment that this Starbucks brings, I will simply no longer spend my money here. Period. I will get up extra early(gasp!), fight the morning crowds, park as far away as necessary and go inside the Magazine location. Or, drive a little further and go to the location near Clearview Mall(which is exactly what I’ve been doing for my bi-weekly afternoon fix and they have yet to let me down.) Anything but go back here.(Well, not anything. I’m still not going to touch that brown water they call coffee at work. So almost anything.) Whew, it feels good to finally let go. Sidebar rant not related to my rating: The location showing up on the map for this Starbucks is in the wrong place. I wish Google maps would straighten out the mess they’ve made of businesses on Vets. It’s not in Kenner, it is all the way at the other end of Vets in Metairie, not far past the Orleans parish line.

This Starbucks is hit or miss… I’ve had really terrible experiences here, as well as good experiences… but the bad always is what sticks out, right? Today, I ordered a soy, decaffeinated frappucino with whipped cream for my little girl as a Saturday morning treat. The barrista forgot the whip cream and then argued with me for a moment about whether or not I had actually ordered it before begrudgingly adding a couple noticeably small squirts… who goes out of their way to cause a little extra inconvenience and grief when fixing a treat for a 3 year old? Unnecessary… BOTTOMLINE: I am being generous with 3 stars… I rarely have a great experience here, but its the only Starbucks close to my house so it has to do.

Great peppermint mocha! Friendly and quick service. Only down side is the extremely limited parking. Could use a décor update.

Its Starbucks. what can I say. Parking can be tricky. It was one of the first ones in the NOLA area.

Ever since the Lakeside Starbucks became a Sucre, this Starbucks has been busy every single time I’ve gone in, no matter what time. There are 3 parking spaces in front of the building, and a parking lot with about seven spaces. Oftentimes, all these spaces are full. The sidestreet next to the store(Nursey Ave.) is regularly patrolled by JPSO for ticketing and towing, there are no parking signs extending far down the block. This makes this Starbucks the WORST Starbucks for parking in the entire metro area(no, the Canal Street Starbucks’s don’t count; they’re in hotels and not actually operated by Starbucks). ANDIT’S INFREAKINGMETAIRIE. That being said, they have a drive through, the staff is always friendly, they get the drinks right, and being able to pay for coffee just by flashing my iPhone is pretty awesome.

I had to be at work particularly early so I couldn’t visit my regular spot. I found this location via Unilocal and thankfully it was open at 6:15 a.m. I asked for an off menu drink that I had tried in Texas, but they couldn’t make it. I decided on a different drink and they made it quickly and efficiently. Although I don’t particularly love Starbucks, they are consistent. I wont go here regularly, but I will keep it in mind next time I have to be at work early.

A «forgotten» starbucks location that is placed on the way to lots of stuff but not actually near a destination. Right off Veterans Highway in a suburbia part of town, this quaint s’bucks is small and has less study tables. There is some parking around the building but it’s limited. You can also park behind the store in the neighborhood if you are really in a pinch. It has great workers and is very clean.
