I had stopped going for BBQ could not find a good place in Georgia I had missed Texas BBQ. Then today I thought I would try this place it was so good I ate 2 sandwiches turkey and brisket the meat was so juicy not dry like most other places that zap all in the microwave oven. I could taste it was cooked correctly. I will be back for sure loved the BBQ sauce was not overly sweet like most. Thanks so much for serving good food

Hands down the best brisket I’ve had outside of Texas. The pork stacks up to anyone. The sauce looked thin, but ended up being really good. I had the Mac & Cheese and potato salad as sides, which were both great. The M&C was made with large shell pasta, which was different, and the potato salad has a zip to it I couldn’t place, but was unique and really delicious. The staff was really cool, too and I enjoyed chatting with them to break up my solo road-trip. Everything was priced well and they had some daily specials that seemed like good deals. I’m really glad i stumbled on Papa Buck’s(close to HWY16) and will go out of my way in the future to visit when in Georgia.

Papa Bucks ribs are very good. Potato salad and baked beans are great as well. You will leave satisfied or take out like I do and eat at home. The Rib Pack is a good deal and you get a whole rack and two Pint sized sides for $ 25.00 bucks or just a rack of Ribs is $ 19.00. I’ve ate here 6 to 10 times over a 7 year period when I visit my in-laws and it’s been very consistent.

We got lucky finding this gem! Great service and family atmosphere ~ UGA décor didn’t hurt either! The flavor on the meats was phenomenal. We tried St. Louis ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and unlike some bbq, the meat was the star of the show! Sauce was great, but really didn’t need it ~ the meat was that good! Green beans and macaroni weren’t too shabby either!!! Definitely worth a stop driving down 16.

One of the best things about the South is the further afield you get, the better the bbq is. Basically just gotta echo what everyone else said, had some delicious brisket. Only knock that it was a bit on the salty side. Brunswick stew and Mac & cheese were good too.

AMAZINGBBQ!!! Melt in your mouth pulled pork, smoked to perfection. Top it off with their sweet, slightly tangy sauce and you are in for a treat! Add your favorite sides(I went with standard mac n cheese), or make it a Scooby Snack meal on a basket of fries. Worth the trip to what looks like an unassuming spot in Metter, just off I-16 northwest from Savannah. Extremely friendly folks and all around happiness in here.

Very good Barbeque! The meat is moist, tender, and flavorful! The sides are very good, I especially enjoyed the potato salad and the Brunswick stew. Their desserts are a nice surprise also. Portions are generous, wait staff is very attentive, and prices are very reasonable! Altogether, a very pleasurable experience!

Freaking great BBQ! We stopped in while coming home from vacation. There’s not a lot on I 16 in this area. The Metter exit had food. Great reviews so we stopped in. Excellent choice! Food was awesome. Tea come in a huge glass. Service was great. Brisket was tender, juicy and yummy! My wife got the pork plate and it was great too. Best place around!

Best barbecue I’ve ever had! I first tried it at my sister in laws wedding. Ever since then I’ve been hooked. My parents had them cater my brothers rehearsal dinner. And I ordered a truck load of food for my baby’s first birthday party. The food is that good. The service is always excellent.

Was coming back from Savannah, have wanted to eat here for a whole, but am never here near mealtime. Got Brunswick stew and a half chicken to go along with some cake The Brunswick stew was quite good, certainly the best I’ve had south of Atlanta. Nice texture, good hint of spiciness and with chunks of potato and whole kernels of corn, I liked it a lot. Slightly sweet for my taste, but not at all out of line, I’d stop here for a cup anytime. The chicken, on the other hand, was a disappointment. It looked great, nice color with a little crispy skin, I was pretty excited until I tucked into it. Not seasoned enough, it was overcooked and dry, even in the thigh and leg. Really disappointed. Had I been eating in, I definitely would have asked to replace it. The place had a nice crowd, so I’m assuming this is not the norm, but I can only comment on what I got and it wasn’t up to snuff Cake was simple, multiple thin layers with icing between each one. Very, very rich, it reminded me of the homemade cakes of my youth. Great memories, but really needs milk to wash it down. It was so rich that I couldn’t finish the piece(my kid appreciated it) Well worth a return to confirm that the quality of that chicken was probably not what they normally serve.

Ya gotta love a place that serves BBQ that beats anything you can make at home… they cook with the only finest meats and take no shortcuts to prepare the meat just right. and a great choice if home made sides and great desserts… their beef brisket and st Louis ribs are positively addictive… the pork and chicken are almost as good…

I stopped here to gas up on a work related trip after leaving Georgia Southern University. I ordered to-go because I needed to get back on the road to Atlanta. It was a good decision. I could write a dissertation on my experience and food here but the reality is that it’s just good, ‘olé country barbecue. It gets a blue ribbon from me for its’ desserts as well. The buttercreme pound cake tastes like my great-grandmother’s recipe… GOD rest her soul. –Meat was tender like a baby’s heartbeat –Sauce was spicy and sweet like your Momma –Cake was moist and creamy like…50 shades of *cough*

Absolutely without a doubt you Must stop and eat here. I was driving from Savannah to Atlanta. I had the sample platter. four meat combo brisket, chicken, pulled pork, and ribs St Louis style. brisket was tender crust was perfect best I’ve ever had. the BBQSAUCE is vinegar based very good. the baked beans were very sweet like I like them. the ribs chicken we’re very good mac and cheese was very good; they used shells as the pasta. but the star of the show was the brisket without a doubt. the price was very good for what I got $ 16 for the 4 meat combo with 2 sides. Definitely coming back when Im in this part of the country!

It was very busy at lunch time. I ordered the pulled pork plate with Brunswick stew and mac and cheese. The pork was just ok as was the mac/cheese. The Brunswick stew was not like any I have ever had before. I would not order it again. People were very nice.

Being from Texas, I know BRISKET! I travel for work and pass through Metter from time to time. My first visit to Papa Bucks I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. I then noticed you could buy a pound of brisket. I thought. Great! I can get that for dinner later… It never made it out of the parking lot. I sat there and ate it all in the car. LOL My most recent trip back I was mentioning to a lady that was at the counter on how much I loved the brisket. Come to find out she is the owner. We chatted about the restaurant the food and how Honey Boo Boo had also made a visit. I LOVELOVELOVE great customer service! The food the price and the customer service at this place is phenomenal. I WILLBEBACK ;)
