Always Affordable Moving and Storage

These guys saved my bacon. I’ll give the brief history:
Unfortunately for these guys, the move got off on the wrong foot with a bad «broker» (who, in turn, hired Always Affordable Moving and Storage — Avoid Alliance Moving Services, Astoria NY — rotten broker!!)
Fortunately, Always Affordable «won» the business from the broker. They arrived as promised. They wrapped the furniture and possessions (a very modest up-​charge of $ 40 — very reasonable considering time and materials). .The movers worked like mad — in the slush and snow — to load the possessions into the truck from NJ to South Florida.
My materials weighted in at 1,600lbs. — it was a less-​than-​load move. It was three small rooms’ worth of stuff.
The only complaint — a minor one — was the time taken to get there. As a less-​than-​load mover, the freight company must fill their truck chock-​full to make money. As a consequence, the delivery was later than planned — about 9 days. Based on research, this is NORMAL. Simply put, it took nine days to fill the truck to capacity.
The entire time, the dispatch group kept me apprised of the progress. They were always cordial and provided the best information available.
The materials were professionally delivered (in my absence) to the destination — A neighbor opened the door for them. .When unpacked, there was ZERO damage. Everything was accounted for. The movers even placed random stuff in a «sensible» location.
Unfortunately for these guys, they were put in a bad place initially by an awful broker (not the movers’ fault.) Once the relationship moved from the nasty broker (Alliance Moving Services, Astoria NY) to Always Affordable, the process became professional and reliable. — I went from furious to quite happy.
Doing this move again, I would go directly to Always Affordable, skip the brokers.
