Along with the Stormbreaker Jacket (
) bought through Amazon, I also ordered a couple of these: «Genuine» US Navy Wool Watch Cap /​Beanie /​Ski Cap. The price was $ 4.99 at that time (now $ 5.99). I was pretty leery of the low price as
was selling a Wool Skull Cap for over $ 26! But the reviews by purchasers of this item was generally very positive with an average rating of over four stars. And at $ 4.99, I’m not going to lose much dough if I am dissatisfied.

After four bicycle rides in temperatures that ranged from the low 40s to the mid 50s, I am very impressed with this product. Wool, by it’s very nature, will psychologically give you a warm feeling instantly when you put it on, whereas it takes products made from acrylic a few minutes to reach that temperature comfort level in cold weather.
Another attribute of Wool which I like is the breathability of the material. The Watch Cap is capable of releasing moisture (sweat) while still retaining heat. That quality is really appreciated!
Quite a few reviewers on Amazon quibbled about the «thinness» of the Wool Pile. At the temperatures I ride at on my recent bicycle rides, the warmest part of my body was my head!
You will have to get used to Wool, especially if you haven’t worn Wool clothing in awhile. Took me three days of itching to get used to the material! Hadn’t worn Wool in a LONG time.
