Glad to have Dominican food in the area. Angies is good. Since they opened we are regulars. Home cooked and tasty!

Very quiet, hidden bakery I would not have seen if I hadn’t looked up bakeries in the area. There is parking on the side of the bakery. By the register, you can see your bakery options. They have an entire menu however you can take a look at their menu for their other options. There is plenty of seating from two to four seaters. I got the Tres Leches cake I saw in their display sweets section. I’ve never had a good one prior so I was interested to see how it was. I was ecstatic to find out I really enjoyed it. The body was a normal yellow cake absorbed in this delicious what tasted like sweet condensed milk sauce. The icing wasn’t too sweet; tasted similar to whipped icing not the overly-sweet kind you can buy in a bottle. It complimented well to the sweet body of the cake. It was all topped with a maraschino cherry. The coffee was pretty standard. Nothing special about it. I’ll def be back especially to try their more savory dishes.

Wonderful flavors in our pork dishes. Super cute inside. Plenty of parking on the side of building. Small selection which makes it easier to choose an amazing meal. Empanadas are great too. Tres leches cake was super moist. Highly recommend!

Love supporting local, woman-owned businesses and this one does not disappoint! Angie is super sweet and her food and baked good are great. I loved the carne guisado with rice and am especially in love with her tres leches. Our daughter loves it here and often asks to go, which I think is a huge endorsement! My only qualm is that while it smells nice, the air freshener used(plug in, maybe) is a bit overpowering and affects the experience. You taste with your eyes, nose and mouth and when your nose is overwhelmed it makes it hard.

Nice little gem. We had Chicken mofongo and chicken stew with yellow rice and black beans. We also had chicken and cheese empanadas. Food was fresh and salt level was perfect. Prices are reasonable. Give it a try. We will come back again…

I tried Angies yesterday for the first time and I’m back again today. There aren’t enough words to describe the flavor of this food. FINALLY… we get a great Spanish food joint in our neighborhood. If I don’t cook my own arroz con pollo… or pernil… I’m forced to drive all the way to Perth Amboy. Happy to say — Perth Amboy may never see me again. This place is PHENOMENAL! The pernil… the yellow rice… the beans(black or red)…WOW. This food is not too salty… you can taste the garlic… the cilantro… so fresh. And super clean! I met Angie… what a delightful human being. I hope she does well here… because she really has something going. TRY this food and you’ll be hooked like us! Also… I’m here at 1 pm on Saturday and 10 people have come in the 10 minutes I was here to pick up.

We were so excited that Metuchen has a new Spanish food restaurant and Angie’s did not disappoint. The rice and red beans were excellent and the whole rotisserie chicken had great seasoning and was not dry at all. The tostones that came with the meal were also well seasoned and surprisingly not dry. Angie’s also has a lot of different desserts. Go figure that the best macaroons I have ever had are at this Dominican restaurant. You can’t go wrong with the portion of food they give you for the price they charge for the family meal.

Such a great addition to Main Street Metuchen! The food is authentic, reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking. Amazing flavors and variety. Have been here twice already. First time they were still working out the menu. My husband and I ordered the roasted pork(pernil) with rice and beans and sweet plantains. We practically licked the plate clean. We also ordered the mofongo with shrimp which was very flavorful and garlicky! I asked for a a bit more sauce to pour over the mofongo and Angie whipped up a fresh batch for me right on the spot. The next time we went, my husband wanted the pernil again(it was that good). I opted for the pollo guisado(stewed chicken) with white rice and black beans and crunchy green plantains. Again, we were not disappointed with the flavors and were happy to see that the portions were even a bit bigger than last time… and the menu itself had grown as well. Both times we fell victim to getting a few desserts since her pastries are such a feast for the eyes and the palate. My husband got the flancocho(flan and chocolate cake combo) the first time and the caramel cake the second time and raved about both! I’m more of a flaky pastry girl so I got the apple turnover on the first trip and the guava pastry the second time which was my absolute favorite! Angie and her staff are amazingly welcoming and accommodating! Can’t wait to go back!!!

We bought macarons and a slice of fudge chocolate cake to go and they were amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their food soon.
