Burger & Beer Joint

My boyfriend and I have been staying in Miami Beach for the last few days and tried quite a few varied places to eat. From very expensive to very inexpensive nothing seems to satisfy us nearly as much as this food has. There isn’t even a close second. We got the Hotel California Burger with a couple of beers and split it. From the first bite the last it was heavenly. The sweet Vidalia onion mixed with all the other toppings was incredible. They have a great selection of beers and other cocktails. We are from Southern California and Love In and Out Burger but this was absolutely spectacular. It’s a good thing we didn’t find this place on our first evening because we would have eaten here for every meal.

This «spot» seems to be a hometown place to get burgers. The dining room is small with dated furniture.
Although my sweet potato fries were cold I didn’t have room for them anyway. The burger was amazingly wonderful. The THICK cut bacon was heaven on my burger.

A few blocks outside of the craziness of South Beach, we thought this would be a good place to grab some good burgers and craft beers, based on its name. On the plus side, the booths were roomy, waitstaff was friendly, and they have a kids menu. However, beer selection was disappointing and one beer in the sampler we ordered was flat; the food was disappointing (the Mediterranean salad was drenched in heavy dressing and soggy veggies of some sort); they charged for a side of ranch with the kids chicken strip meal, and the child’s ice cream was served in a dish so hot it was basically mush by time it reached the table. Bleh

Found Burger & Beer Joint on one of those «must-​eat» lists on Miami Beach. And it did not disappoint.
From the moment we entered the restaurant to the time we left — we were met with great service, delicious food and tasty brews.
There’s something here for meat-​eaters and veggie-​eaters (like me).
If you can, sit in Desiree’s section. She was warm, inviting, funny and had great recommendations and made our birthday celebration really special.

This place was good but they got our order wrong twice, i told them to not put whip cream on my milkshake but they did and they didn’t put some of the burger toppings i wanted on the burger but they quickly fixed that and we didn’t really mind because the food was great! Definitely recommend if you’re craving a burger and some fries. Love the fried Oreos!

Menu:
Many options to choose from — I had a custom burger which I ordered to go. By the time I got home, the burger was still hot, crisp, and all the flavor in tact — impressive because there’s nothing worse than a soggy one-​note burger. The onion rings also held up well.
Atmosphere:
Relaxed, welcoming, and charming. I enjoy this place because you feel like you’ve left Miami Beach — license plates are hung on the ceiling and nearly every brick inside has someone’s name written on it with crayon or sharpie.
Will definitely return again to try out the specials, the location is great for when you’ve spent the day out on the water and need refueling.

This place is divey. Disclaimer: I don’t particularly enjoy eating at divey joints and, realizing this, it most likely shaped my opinion of the actual meal itself. I mean the table wasn’t even wiped down after the last patron left and before/​during my arrival (I grabbed some dry ass paper towel and wiped it down ma’self) Why did you stay to eat you may ask… the Unilocal reviews! I figured the burger had to be out of this world. Sadly, it was not.
All that being said, the burger (Thunderbird) was cooked as ordered (medium). It was flavorful and overall pretty good. The bacon was extra thick and fatty– not my cup of tea, but may be yours. The American cheese was most certainly a Kraft square– which was pretty darn gross.
Overall I was disappointed. I wanted more. I wanted a great burger that my fellow Unilocalers experienced. Will keep on keeping on.

Im in Miami for vacation and i ran across Burger&Beer. This burger joint was the best. Big juicy burgers with great customer service can’t be beat. I had the½lb premium beef blend on a brioche bun with avocado bacon and American cheese. My husband had the turkey burger on ciabatta with bacon avocado and provolone cheese with skinny fries. The burgers were so juicy and flavorful. Best burger joint by far. I’m only here for 3 days but I’m pretty sure I will visit it one more time before I leave.

This burger joint is the real deal.
One of the reasons I’m giving a 5 star rating is because not only are the burgers juicy and cooked perfectly, the individual components of the burger go together so well flavor wise. It didn’t hurt that this place is air conditioned so you can enjoy your burger without sweating your balls off in the miami heat :)
Another thing I noticed about the burgers here in general is they manage to get a really good char on the outside but still maintaining the right temperature on the inside. It’s rare that you get a burger cooked perfectly like that.
Mustang Sally (⁵⁄₅) — Loved this burger! Our server said this is one of the most popular burgers and I can see why. It packs in a ton of flavors that really go well together. The red onion marmalade was sweet but had the perfect amount to compliment the slightly salty brie and prosciutto flavor.
Skinny Fries (⁵⁄₅) — Really thin and crunchy, just the way I like it. Comes with the Mustang Sally burger.
Duck fat fries (⁴⁄₅) — Meh… I’m not a fan of limp fries or limp anything else for that matter.
Wild Thing (⁵⁄₅) — This burger packs in a lot of flavor! Our server recommended this one over the Mustang Sally. It comes with blue cheese that is pounded into slices which is genius. The last thing I need is crumbly bits of blue cheese that fall off my burger or out of my mouth. It comes with duck fat fries.
Fried pickles (⁴⁄₅) — yum, very nicely battered and tasty. I would have liked the batter to be a little lighter though because this is a burger joint… I don’t want a super heavy appetizer.
If I wasn’t feeling like shit on the day we went there, I would’ve gotten some beers to compliment the burgers. They have beer suggestions for every burger on the menu and a number of craft local Florida beers.

One of the best hamburger experience you can find in Miami. The location is curated and particular, a nice mix at the end.
The meat (bison in my case) was sweet and tasty and the red onion jam was amazing.
I’m sure I will be back again.

This review is for the vegetarian options only.
I’ve been to this location a few times and I’m not quite sure if I understand the hype. I’ve had both of the vegetarian options — the vegetarian burger as well as the the portobello burger and was underwhelmed with both.
The portobello was incredibly soggy (I believe this is the Dear Prudence option) — not something you can couthly eat in front of company (as I learned the hard way) and didn’t have much flavor at all.
The vegan burger was seasoned nicely, but again — left a lot to be desired especially for the price tag.
I’ve also tried the mushroom fries — while you only get a few slices, they’re pretty filling all on their own. Again, not a clean eat as the tempura batter is really greasy and the mushroom inside oozes.
The burgers are huge (which would be a plus) other than the fact that by the second day, your burger is incredibly soggy and is falling apart more than it was the first day — so again, no bueno if you don’t like to eat by yourself.
I won’t be itching to come back, but if I do happen to be, my last option on the menu would be to try their version of the mac and cheese. But for the most part, I’ll pass.

Service was friendly, but slow and I mean slow.
We all ordered something different — which was fine. Food just isn’t great. Try another burger joint.

Horrible Service! We stood there for like 5 minutes without any acknowledgement. The waiters kept passing by us and did not say anything until we asked them if we could just sit anywhere.
As no tables were available at the moment we sat waiting for one at the bar. This part wasn’t such a bad experience.
Finally our table was ready and off we went to wait for another 15 minutes before WE asked for a waiter.
Once our waitress came she was very nice and attentive (which is why this review got 2 stars) she made great suggestions as to what we should try and get. Food was delicious however they need to train their staff properly especially their hostess she was on cloud 9.
Don’t know if I will be coming here again but the food was great for the most part.

The Burger and Beer Joint is just what the name says: Great Burgers and a hell of choice of different beers in a great atmosphere in an Irish-​pub-​style.
I personally like the Devil most and had it twice during my last short stay in Miami. Prices are fine. The only thing to be improved is the service: Should be much quicker and more attentive (e.g. when drink is finished, the waiter should come around to ask if I want more).
I fear, I will come back as soon as I will be back in town.

Real shithole & not in a good way. Seem to be going for something nice but maybe there’s an absentee owner or just shitty staff at odd hours. Stood around for five minutes while bartender/​server just seemed confused as to why I’d be there. Went to use the bathroom & w no warning the whole room was literally a pool of shit. that I walked in. In hindsight there was a single high chair in the hallway that might have been sort of propped to say don’t enter but was absolutely insanely not enough considering the severity of the issue and in a place where the bathroom situation is not so clearly marcated anyway. Pretty sure some staff noticed but ignored it as opposed to obviously apologizing for the mistake. The shithole comment at the beginning wasn’t a pun btw… And to be clear this place sucks. the bathroom and the clueless service independent of each other.

Comfortable to relax, having beer and burger in a cool place and reasonable price, hosting by lovely staff: Aishah and Evonne and back-​stage as well.

1 server on today. Food took 70 minutes to arrive… no manager in sight. Have gone to Brickell locations and speed is faster however it smells like a wet bar. The devil burger was warm, not hot and chili cheese fries were barely warm. Quinoa salad with chicken was delicious. Ahí tuna tacos also solid.

If one must eat such foods then B&B is the way to go with their style and flair!
Good presentation and good imaginative burgers

Took 15mins just to get menus. After waiting another 15mins for our server to arrive, I started waiving my arms like a drowning sailor for 2mins and only then someone showed up. This place calls itself a sports bar, but they have 3 – 4 30″ screens; and there was no sound (!!) in the AFC Championship game. Instead they chose to play really crappy 3^rd grade rock music. Avoid…

Super friendly staff! They do get slammed busy unexpectedly sometimes, so the servers can get inattentive due to the low number of servers scheduled but the burgers, salads and a Mahi sandwich are delicious. I recommend the shrimp salad with crumbled bleu cheese. So yummy!

Fuimos 7 personas a comer hamburguesas ya que habíamos leído que eran las mejores de Miami. La verdad, las he comido mejores en muchos sitios. El lugar es peculiar, nos metieron en una especie de sala apartada donde había muchos escritos con tiza en las paredes. Bastante cutre de apariencia. Los manteles de papel marrón son como los que emplean los pintores para no manchar el suelo.
La camarera no fue muy agradable. Parece que los españoles no les caemos bien. No hacen el mínimo esfuerzo por entenderte. Parecía que practicaba el lanzamiento de plato.
El precio es elevado para ser hamburguesas pero como todo en Miami.

This place is a great burger joint. You will see different meats sauces toppings that you couldn’t get anywhere else. I am soooooooioo full come here.

Estuve hace 2 días ahí porque me recomendaron que las hamburguesas eran muy ricas, y si es verdad, yo comi la «California» y me gusto y la cerveza también, ahora el tema es, y por lo que la mayoría se queja, el servicio y tal cual, a mi dentro de todo me atendieron bien, pero no sabia que cerraban temprano (10:30 aprox) asique en el medio que estaba comiendo ya me trajeron la cuenta porque ya querían cerrar, a mi amigo le levantaron el plato con comida porque pensaron que ya había terminado y me di vuelta y ya me quitaron todo de la mesa y hasta limpiaron y agarraron la cuenta pero le dije que todavía no, y no le entendí lo que dijo pero por la cara que puso no le habrá gustado que tarde, asique pague y me fui, asique espero mejoren ese tema

This should be a 1-​star review but I have been here in the past and not had the below described problems so I am giving the benefit of the doubt that we ate here on a really off night.
To start, we sat at the bar and there was only 1 bartender and no bar-​back. This bartender was handling the bar and all the high-​top tables along with pouring drinks for the entire restaurant. He was very nice, but clearly overwhelmed and behind on everything.
We ordered 2 burgers my wife’s well done and mine medium. When they came out my wife’s was rare and mine raw. I mean raw, when I cut the burger the meat stuck to the knife which doesn’t happen even if cooked to rare temperature. That is horrendous and can get someone very ill. We complained and they brought them back and just cooked the same burgers further not making them fresh. That is lame enough but even worse when they came back out my wife’s burger was only up to medium and mine only to a blue-​rare. That is unacceptable and we paid our tab and left. The manage did take off one of the burgers and two of our beers but that was not enough to make me okay with the experience.

While on vacation I decided to try this place out. I’d read reviews and remembered it was on Man vs Food. The time I went just so happened to be Halloween so it was cool to see everyone in costume. I chose a bacon and cheddar burger (I can’t remember the name of it from the menu). It also had barbecue sauce on it. It too awhile to get our food and silverware took even longer. Once I got my food I quickly noticed my fries were not hot. The server quickly brought me fresh one with no problem at all. I enjoyed my food and the barbecue sauce was a nice touch to my medium well burger. At first I did not think I would finish my burger but after a long day at the beach I was hungry. Everything was good.

I am probably giving too many stars at three. This place is a complete dive and every corner needs a good disinfecting. We were there on a Saturday night. Three different people met us at the door. Neither of them had a clue where to sit us. The place was busy but not full.
The table which we were sat at was not clean. The hostess did get a cloth and wipe the table down. Lucky us. The busboy was doing a terrible job. He would grab a hand full of paper towels from the table and wipe it off without and cleaner. EEW!
We were close to the bar. The area just stunk of old rotting nasty beer mold. So I am 100% sure that somebody needs to get behind the bar and scrub.
My wife ordered a Water with lime, I ordered a Coke no ice with lemon and my buddy got a beer.
My Coke came out first without lemon.
A few minutes later the water came out with lemon.
A few minutes after that the beer came out.
The service was lacking just like others have remarked.
My wife ordered the chicken strips. She said they were very greasy.
I got the California Burger added bacon. It was OK… I am a fan of Red Robin and their burgers are much better.
Since I don’t drink, I am guessing that beer makes the food taste better.
No matter, I was not that impressed.

I didn’t have the burger but had the quinoa kale salad with a side of tuna. I enjoyed the salad, tasted very fresh with chunks of avocado and tomato in a very light dressing. The fish was a little over cooked… I prefer a medium rare. I also ordered the fries cooked in duck fat (nothing special) but the truffle aioli was devine.
The reason for the three stars was the slow service and dirty bathroom. There was a dead cocroach on the floor and the toilet looked filthy.

Probably the best burger ever. You can customize your burger with whatever you want ! I cannot recommend something because everything are good, excellent.
Please, do not order sodas. There are amazing beers here. Ask for the best beer to accommodate with your custom burger, you won’t be disappointed!

Came on a Saturday night and waited around 25 minutes for a table. Our group came only wanting drinks but the bar area was full. Took the hostess 10 minutes to acknowledge us but eventually put our name down for a table. The menu seemed quite good and there’s a lot of different options, not just burgers. Sadly we just ate so we didn’t end up trying tge food here. Will come back. I had ordered a sweet dreams sangria but our server said it’s not made fresh and not very good. He was awesome! I loved the fact he was honest to a customer. He suggested the centerfold mojito instead which was muddled with fresh strawberries. It was delicious! A little too packed in the Mason jar so there’s not alot of liquid versus ice, mint leaves and strawberry chunks but still very good.

I love this place because the food is just awesome. I really appreciate a good burger and at Burger & Beer, they’re GREAT. Juicy, large, flavorful, and cooked perfectly to your liking. I’ve only had the Thunder Road burger but I think it is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend it.
To go with my delicious burger, I get zucchini fries. These are large, thick, and yummy! Mmm
The Maroon 5 dessert is the perfect ending — it’s 5 deep fried Oreos with warm chocolate sauce and a serving of vanilla ice cream. These deep fried Oreos are not by any means ordinary — they’re spectacular!
All of us did notice that they are really stingy on fries — we’re the type of people that usually have plenty of fries leftover, but here we actually noticed that they served very very very few fries (they were hardly even noticeable on our plates). Though they’re big, I was ONLY given 5 zucchini fries!!! Come on, I paid for more than 5 fries!
The dessert took a really long time (but it was extremely fresh) and service for slow/​disappeared towards the end. Also I’d say it’s somewhat pricey.
Some improvements could definitely be made but all in all, get ready for some dang GOOD food!

After watching all these burgers calling out our name on food channel while we were chilling at the hotel, my wife and I developed a huge craving for some nice, juicy burgers. What did we do next? Get on Unilocal and search for the #1 burger joint in Miami Beach, FL aka Burger & Beer Joint!
Let me tell you, if you love burgers, this place is a MUST! I ordered the Thunder Road Burger and the blend of juicy beef with the blend of onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, DELICIOUS bacons, and topping it off with tasty BBQ sauce… It was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had! It comes with skinny fries and I also ordered UFO White Harpoon with my burger and the combination was priceless.
Burger and fries come at $ 13.99 but it was very filling and worth every penny!
You want a burger? GO TO BURGER & BEER JOINT! Won’t regret it!

My cousin and I ended up here because our first July 4^th brunch spot was absolutely packed and rammed to the gills. The only seats were outside in the blistering hot sun. No thanks.
Drove a ways and came here instead. It was not that busy and we sat in a booth near the back of the restaurant. After reviewing the full menu, we decided to try their trendy maple syrup dipped bacon and a burger for each of us. Since my cousin wanted a pre-​configured burger, I decided to do my own burger with my own personal toppings. I actually had gotten a double patty too and when it came to me, it was so big that I couldn’t fit the burger for a whole bite.
Big burgers come at a cost as my burger came out to $ 18 total, bumped up a bit because they actually charged me for raw lettuce, onions, and tomatoes… things that are usually free at other burger joints. The fries actually were good too, went well with my Cigar City brew.
My advice for anyone is to get one of the signature burgers because building your own burger will probably end up being more expensive. The maple bacon was great but a bit overpriced for what you get. The fries are definitely worth it.

First, remember that the name of the restaurant completely defines the dining experience.
Our party of 5 arrived on a Tuesday night. We ordered our drinks, which were all very tasty. Then we ordered onion rings as an appetizer. They were huge and crispy.
I ordered off of the appetizer menu and got the Fish and Chips. The fish was served nugget-​style on top of the fries. They were breaded and cooked to perfection. Very crispy on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside.
One of my friends ordered tempura-​style fried green beans with black truffle oil sauce. OMG! These were so delicious and I made her order more sauce so I could dip my french fries. She didn’t eat them all and took them back to the hotel. She said that after being in the fridge all night, she ate them in the morning and they were still crispy and delicious. She raved! Others in our party ordered the burgers and were not disappointed.
I also ordered the Mac Daddy cheese gratin, which was delish. It was a large serving, so I couldn’t finish it all. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. Check this place out!

So. Amazing. They had a great selection of beer, and an enormous selection of burgers.
We started out with the made to order Mac and cheese, which was worth the 10 minute wait. Super creamy and cheesy and soo yummy.
The burger selection was slightly overwhelming so I opted for a custom burger. Anything you want on your burger, they have. I made the most perfect burger! Will definitely be back when I’m craving a burger and a beer.
If you’re super full after, there are city bikes right outside so you can ride around and help things settle :)

Enfin un vrai burger américain dans un restaurant typiquement US !
Sous une chaleur écrasante, on apprécie de rentrer dans un endroit climatisé, avec un large choix de burger pour tous les goûts !
Vous né resterez pas sur votre faim car les plats sont vraiment très gros (les portions américaines me diraient vous !).

La verdad el lugar no es lo que me imaginaba, la comida esta buena pero la verdad no tube la oportunidad de disfrutar mucho ya que debi irme por el pesimo servicio y atencion al cliente, pregunte por 2 diferentes cervezas comunes que no tenian (guiness, heineken), algunos de sus platos del menu no estaban disponibles, y despues de esperar por 30 min por dos hamburgers, y preguntar varias veces por nuestra comida el manager y la bartender, comenzaron a hacer chistes de mal gusto me parecio burla y discriminacion porque somos turistas latinos, no recomiendo este sitio si no quieren ser burlados no visiten este sitio.
