Friendly staff and awesome food! We had a great time eating outside, and all that we had(crabcakes, corn, crab legs and steak) were delightful.

They double charged us for service! The service charge was included in the final bill, but they did point that out and leave the tip amount blank. Finally, we paid $ 124 for $ 80 of food!

The drinks were great. They came out extremely quick, and they weren’t frozen, so we didn’t get our hopes up, but the rum punch and the mojito were really, really good, albeit strong– they don’t skimp on the liquor here! The food was decent. The calamari was very good. I ordered the shrimp linguine and it was mediocre in every way. My fiancée’s crab cakes, however, were really good. She raved about them all weekend. What really separated this place from other Ocean Drive eateries was the waitstaff. They were nice, quick, and very personable, definitely a change of pace from other establishments nearby!

Wonderful food. Our server was CJ himself. I love any business where the owner is humble and doing the job himself. My favorite dish was the crab spinach artichoke cheese dip. I could have only eaten that. The homemade key lime was also pretty amazing.

I’m so glad we tried CJ’s! It was a Monday night, and things weren’t packed. Service was attentive without being annoying. Service and food were efficient, and there were no long waits. The crab dip was delicious, and between that and a pound of stone crab, my husband and I were totally satisfied. Total with tip, including two Long Islands and a Stella Artois, was right around $ 100.

I had a Shrimp Po Boy, didn’t want it fried, so they made it grill, it was very good, bread was a bit crunchy just as I wanted(eventhough I didn’t ask like that). My wife had a Fish & Shrimp also grill and it was awesome, tartar and cocktail sauce were very well balanced. Staff were very friendly and polite, offered very good options. Definitely will come back

Maryland native and when we visit SoBe we ALWAYS go here for the grouper sandwich! Chris(CJ), the owner, served us twice. Yes that’s right the owner serves tables! Amazing service followed by amazing food. 5+ star spot for sure

The location and service were great on a South Beach Saturday evening. We sat outside, and all their tables had plenty of elbow room. The drunken peel & eat shrimp was by no means mind-blowing but it was good and hot the spot for us. Drink prices were not absurdly jacked up and the quality was reasonable. We liked that the key lime pie wasn’t overly sweet or covered in super-sweet décor glaze like so many are. Definitely a classic Unilocal«a-ok» stop.

Came to Miami to celebrate my birthday and even with so many food options, cj’s was amazing! So good I came back twice! The price is excellent for the snow crab dinner(which I had both for dinner and lunch). My friend had the stuffed crab and the flavors were rich and amazing, just wish they were bigger! Love love love!

If you want overpriced, greasy food that will make you feel like shit instantly, eat here(or anywhere else within 5 blocks on the Ocean strip, for that matter). One should know better than to ever eat at a place with laminated menus but this joint obviously makes its money off people coming off the beach hungry as hell and too tired to walk very far. Only upside is they don’t charge you $ 35 for a margarita — they’re only $ 10 here for a 16oz and they make them really, really strong. But if you’re like me and like to have at least 10 drinks with your dinner, prepare yourself for a biblical headache the next day from all the cheap margarita mix.

Ocean Drive isn’t the cheapest place to eat and we had low expectations for pricing here. It was maybe 2pm and we were starving for something to eat after a couple hours at South Beach. After adding some time to our parking, we headed to CJ’s for some fresh seafood. The store was pretty empty around 2pm. Since it was muggy outside, we chose to sit inside, where no one else was sitting. But it was nice and air conditioned. The server got our orders in quickly and our food was completed relatively quickly, as well. We ordered the One Crab Cake as a light appetizer to share, which was unique in that it came as a stuffed in a crab shell. Definitely special and tasty, although it was just one crab cake. I ordered the blackened mahi tacos, which were not as healthy as I would have hoped, but still delicious. The fish was slightly over-seasoned but tasted great. I could have used a bit more pico di gallo, but it was definitely necessary to spice up the taco. The fries were SUPER crispy and hot and well seasoned. I couldn’t stop eating them, except we ran out of parking time. Not fresh, they weren’t as tasty. The cole slaw was slightly sweet and I downed the small container of it right away. Overall a tasty and mostly affordable meal off of Ocean Drive(if you stick to the sandwiches). I wish I had tried some of the alcoholic beverages, because they definitely all looked pretty interesting… Especially the 60oz beverage for $ 45!

My husband and I love seafood. While in Miami, we were looking for a nice seafood restaurant with not so exorbitant prices. We decided to try this place after reading good reviews. We ordered raw oysters and fisherman’s platter. Loved the oysters, they were fresh and yum. The fisherman platter was also great. I have faced the problem of overcooked seafood many times, but thankfully that did not happen here. Fish was moist and just melted in my mouth, crab cake was served in the shell and was yum. Overall, the experience was fabulous. While paying bill, we went overboard and paid a tip of 30% but after reaching hotel we realized that the bill had already included tip as gratuity. Kind of our fault but we were not informed about it. Anyways, great experience but just remember tip is included.

My friends & I decided to walk here for dinner while staying in Sobe. Eating here was one of the best decisions/experiences we had while in Miami. After arriving we decided to sit outside to experience and soak in the vibe. Our servers were very attentive and once we got settled in the owner CJ checked in with us to see how we were doing. He gave us tips on what to order and everything was A++. We started with some Oysters, fried Calamari, & he suggested the crab dip which is to Die For. As for the entrees our group had everything from steak & lobster, the seafood platter, & pasta. Everyone agreed that their meal was amazing. CJ’s hospitality was very inviting and he definitely made us want to come back. I would recommend this place and will be returning the next time i am in Miami.

The food was awesome. I had the king crab legs and alfredo. The owner, CJ, gave us free shots of patron. It was a good time.

Ocean drive’s best kept secret. I almost don’t want to write this review, but I’m practicing selflessness these days. CJ’s Crab Shack is located at the bottom of the strip, so less people know about it nor are they familiar with their AMAZING food and even better prices. Because I always kept a Fat Tuesday’s container with me at all times during my vacation, I can’t exactly recall what I ordered, or the price at the moment, but I just remember the food was so good and the prices were nothing compared to the other restaurants on the strip. It’s definitely worth the visit, lunch or dinner!

On our quest for stone crab, we came to CJ’s. Since we are noobs, we learned that it wasn’t in season and settled with a pound and a half order of stone crab. The crab was presented nicely, but it wasn’t up to my expectations. The crab seemed old. The meat was shriveled up in the shells and the legs were very small. If it weren’t for the delicious half dozen oysters which were fresh, I’d have rated this place 2 stars.

First off, the staff at CJ’s is so nice. They were so hospitable. We came in with a group of eight and they had a table for us. It took a while for our food to arrive, but there were no complaints once it came. I had a Shrimp Salad, which was good and filling. Most of the group ordered seafood and everyone seemed to be pleased. They especially raved about the oysters. So, why three stars, well the food was a bit overpriced. I think we were paying for the location. It’s located on South Beach. The décor was drab and they seemed to be understaffed, which held us up a bit. However, the General Manager was nice and decided to put a $ 20 in the Jukebox, which was very high tech with lots of the latest hits. So, we played about four songs that helped get us hype for the rest of the activities for the night. I’d visit again for a drink.

I went to CJ’s Crab Shack for dinner while visiting South Beach. The restaurant was busy outside and more relaxed inside. The outside seating filled up very fast. It was packed to capacity outside. I enjoyed the atmosphere outside because you’re able to eat/drink while people watching. Ocean Drive is very lively at night, so eating outside is entertaining. Ocean Drive scenery at night is definitely priceless. I ordered a shrimp po boy with seasoned French fries. The shrimp po was delicious. All of the ingredients blended well together. CJ’s shrimp and fries were fried to a nice crisp. I didn’t have high hopes for the food but it was good. The drinks we had were flavorful but a bit pricey(expected). Our server was attentive and down to earth. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience at CJ’s Crab Shack.

After a few hours of lounging at the beach, we decided to eat at CJ’s for dinner since it was right on Ocean Drive. We came during happy hour which consisted of specials on their large frozen drinks(only $ 8 a drink, regularly priced at $ 10). We ordered a round and each drink came with a complimentary shot of Bacardi to add onto the shot that was already mixed in our drinks. There’s a variety of different seafood dishes on their menu, in addition to steaks. Most of their entrees come with sides as well. I ordered the snow crab special(1.5 pounds of snow crabs) drenched in Old Bay with a side of the parmesan corn. It also came with a side of hot butter, which had an «old» taste to it… that was quickly thrown out. The crabs weren’t anything different from what I could get back home from the wharf, and the overall meal was nothing special to rave about. Service was slow even though we were one out of a few tables dining. 18% gratuity is also automatically added to your check.
