This was my first time in Miami Beach in probably 25 years. Previously I used to travel to So. Florida on business but since retiring I haven’t been here in a long time, and even so, I got to Miami Beach only infrequently when I did travel here. I was taken to The Local House with some friends who retired to Miami. They were very high on the place. In a word, I was not disappointed. We had a great time. AMBIANCE: Relaxed and casual. There is a marvelous outdoor area to enjoy. One can sit on an overstuffed love seat and be served on a coffee table, where you can sit in the sun for part of the day and just people watch, converse, or slowly munch on something from the menu. Farther in, regular tables are available, protected from the sun. The restaurant is located on busy Ocean Drive, but at a less congested end of it. FOOD: My friend and I chose a rather mundane BLT but it also came with a slice of grilled chicken breast inside as well as the bacon, lettuce and tomato, which gave it a bit of a nice twist. The bacon was extra thick, well cooked but not to a crisp. Delicious. One of our hosts had Eggs Benedict, which were perfectly done and, according to her, the hollandaise sauce was delightful. Paired with a Bellini cocktail, she was very happy with her choice. In general the menu seem not to be too daring, but certainly it is interesting, offering little twists on traditional breakfast fare(We came here for brunch). SERVICE: Excellent. Our waiter was pleasant, welcoming, and attentive without being«omnipresent.» Water was proffered as soon as we sat down. My coffee cup was never allowed to completely empty. The food came on time and was served at a comfortable temperature. All in all the four of us enjoyed the food and, though busy, we never felt rushed at all. In short, we were«restored» well, which is what«restaurants» are supposed to do. I can heartily recommend this establishment without trepidation. With any luck I will return in future visits to Miami.

We visited quite late in the evening on a normal weekday. It was pretty much empty and we got our food quite fast. Being located on the Ocean Drive, one can enjoy the nice breeze while dining outside. The food was pretty decent but I personally felt the quantity is lesser than I expected.

We went for lunch on a Saturday, and the food took about 45 min to come out. Also, the waitress checked on us once at most in all that time. But overall it’s a nice place with good drinks and breakfast items.

High quality great tasting food, relaxing atmosphere, it feels perfect for a laid back vacation breakfast. The outside patio has a few tables with comfortable couches. Inside– bathrooms are clean, laid back soothing music and décor that go perfectly with the classy but casual vibe of the restaurant. I’d definitely recommend this place to my friends. Yeah, it was a little expensive($ 20 for eggs Benedict and a coffee) but that wasn’t bad compared to some other places in the area.

Hotel restaurant $ 20 for bacon and eggs after you spend $ 5 for coffee. Not bad food but definitely not worth a drive.

We came here for breakfast because of the great Unilocal reviews! This place is a little off the beaten path from all of the more crowded restaurants on ocean drive, but it is a gem! It was in a nice quiet spot, and was a perfect day to eat outside! The décor is clean and simple with a calming beachy feel. Service was also good, and our waiter was very attentive. I got the ocean Benedict, and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs. Both of us were very happy with our meals! Definitely the best breakfast we had in south beach!

A nice getaway from the hustle and gross eats of upper Ocean Drive. This place was quaint and charming. You can even sit outside and it’s rather quiet. I had the brunch salad and my mom had the salmon eggs benedict. Both were good! Downside: Service was a bit slow.

Came here for New Years Eve. No one was there to greet us. Three servers walked past us before someone offered to find our seat(we had a reservation). Once seated, another 10 minutes went by before our server arrived(they were not overly busy, several empty tables). She took our order, menu is prix fixe for NYE. We both wanted the soup AND salad offering and would pay for the additional app, however the server simply said no. The lobster bisque was more of a room temperature thick purée. The entrée was the Bronzino. I asked if there were any bones, she said«probably a few». The dessert was an extremely sweet key lime pie that was giving me diabetes as I was eating it. Once the check came and we saw the mandatory 18% service charge(party of 2), we realized the reason for the horrible service. This was our first meal back in the states after a week in Bolivia(a third world country). I managed to not get sick off any food in Bolivia, however I’m still paying for the meal I ate at this restaurant. What a way to ring in the new year. Stay away.

Very cute décor and the service was great! We were a bit disappointed to find the limited selection on the menu. There was a variety for everyone to choose from but the pricing of some items just didn’t seem to be worth it. I ordered the eggplant stack(listed as an appetizer) for dinner. It was delicious! The sauce was over-the-top and plentiful. In fact, I asked for more bread(also delicious) to soak up every last bit. My teenage son ordered a pasta dish, which he said was okay. The main complaint was that he was still hungry after eating the small serving. If you are used to the North End of Boston, then the serving size of pasta here will not serve you well. My daughter ordered the asparagus and shrimp risotto. The presentation was beautiful. The flavor was okay being a little heavy on the«onion» type of flavor. The serving size in comparison to the pricing is not what I would expect. Dinner was acceptable but most of family left hungry. Not so sure this should be a two-dollar sign listing. A three-dollar listing might be better here(i.e. $ 48 steak, the only steak option) especially knowing that most dishes are not going fill a person without having an app first. Maybe it is in Miami?

The food is really good for me.(my friend was complaining about his lol) The service is not good tho. very slow and wait forever to order and wait forever to pay. And I was thinking about to give 10% as my tips bc of the poor service, they automatically charged me 20%…

I originally came in for the crispy octopus but they took it off the menu. None the less! I ended up getting the banana pancakes instead. Im so glad I did because it was delicious! the banana pieces were caramelized so that made it crunchy. The pancakes tasted great! It came with a side of banana syrup and maple syrup which I didn’t end up using because the banana syrup was sweet enough. Be sure to ask to be seated outside so you can people watch and enjoy the beautiful miami weather!

I had breakfast here. They have your typical breakfast menu that you’d see at any other place on Ocean drive. I really think you should come here for dinner instead. The dinner menu looks so much better. They have curb side seating on these comfy wicker couches so that was nice. It’s also very quiet in this part of South Beach so it’s got that going for it too. They’re not blasting awful music at you while you eat and there’s no scantily dressed girl to lure you inside. It’s not that kind of place.

Quick Background about me: 9 years in the hospitality industry(from dishwasher, server, manager, you name it!). Have worked as a personal chef. Traveled extensively through Europe, lived in Africa and South America, Now the U.S. I find myself a foodie and pretty decent at wine… Review: I had brunch here with a friend. Food was amazing! Had an eggs Benedict and a short rib sauté. I have eggs Benedict every weekend. This place did it right. Bottle of champagne and it was a lovely brunch. Love the ambiance and décor inside. Will be back with more friends. Thank you for lovely meal and service. Atilla was the server.

We wanted to dine al fresco for brunch, and this cute corner spot was the perfect choice. We scored a spot with patio couches with plenty of cushions and pillows. Still recovering from last night, we opted not to drink and ordered coffees. We were impressed that they serve heated milk to pour so that it stays deliciously warm. Smart! In need of a greasy hangover cure, I quickly ordered the burger. But to balance it, I also got a side salad. The burger was a little overcome for medium rare but it was still good. The brioche bun is not the best but a good vessel to soak up the juices and grease. Could have used a little more avocado on my burger as well. The side salad was fairly impressive since it had veggies(mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, olives, and hearts of palm) on it — not just a pile of greens that some places have. My cousins got the shrimp and hearts of palm salad(loved the dressing), ceviche, and local breakfast. Overall everyone enjoyed their meal and the cute beachy ambiance really made the experience.

Amazing breakfast spot! We went here to kill time after getting off a cruise before our flights. The staff was wonderful! They let us take our time and put up with our slow ordering and leisurely pace. We had wonderful breakfast and the mimosas are with fresh squeezed juice! The prices aren’t cheap, but they’re attached to a hotel, so no surprise. The best part is the décor — very beachy chic. If you’re coming from the port, this is a good spot to kill time. Great spot; both indoor and outdoor seating.

Food here is amazing!!! Gave it 4 stars because the kitchen took a while with the food. I guess you can’t rush perfection! Our waiter was also very nice. Skirt steak and eggs! Great, probably best to order medium rare. Mahi tacos– three tacos, very tasty French toast– a hit!!! Come with a banana yogurt/purée that makes the French toast kind of taste like banana nut bread Oysters and mussels also good!

This review is solely for breakfast The décor is beautiful. Very chic, perfect for SoBe. The bar is beautiful! I came for a quick breakfast before hitting the beach. We wanted something heavy and good, hunger was upon us and we did not want to be disappointed. Sadly I was, with my breakfast anyway. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. I’ve had waaayyyyy better pancakes elsewhere! Having recently had some awesome ones at First Watch, I was utterly disappointed. I ordered the Bananna Pancakes and my friend ordered the Original Eggs Benedict. The pancakes didn’t seem like they were made from scratch. I don’t know, I think maybe it was the texture. The flavor was nice though. They were very skimpy on the bananas, that were topped with this crunchy, caramelized candy, and the strawberries were scarce. I asked for more, and they did over compensate so I was pleased I was able to sample the Eggs Benedict and they were awesome! The perfectly poached egg and Canadian bacon was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was also very good with the balance of the spinach and tomatoes that were nestled under were just right. They also came with a side dish of potatoes that had these grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes, just deliciousness! I guess they were off on the pancakes, I’m willing to return and trying some other dishes, and order Eggs Benedict again :)
