A part of SoFi history lost forever. The tuna burgers were to die for. So was the short rib and scallops. The desserts were amazing. Sunday brunches unforgettable. So many fond memories here. Miles, why did you close her?

Came here for their Sunday brunch buffet. Everything looked gorgeous, but as far as the flavor goes, I wasn’t too impressed. I guess it isn’t easy to execute a buffet while preserving flavor. This is not to say that the food was bad, but that it wasn’t amazing. Just A-OK.

Great layout of different food. Very nice recipes and combinations of seasonings. Would definitely go back. And whoa so much food. Loved it!

I find myself Unilocaling about Nemo because I miss it so… Nemo’s is closed at the moment for renovations — due to reopen in October(please hurry). This place offers the best food in South Beach. well, according to me. Everything I’ve tried here is incredible. Favorites are: Calamari Salad — delish. delish. delish. Kobe Beef Sliders — pretty much, the reason I won’t give up beef. Pan Seared Scallops, comes with slow braised short rib and truffle mashed potatoes. Probably the best item on the menu. Incredible. The entire staff is a delight and the service is top notch. 5 + 5 = 10 stars!

Friends and I decided to try out a different spot for brunch… and we decided to give Nemo a shot. And just like the rating says it was Meh, nothing really special. Spicy — The wide variety of food. Salads, eggs, potatoes, etc. You name it they had it. Meats of all kinds. You also can order an omelette as a main dish which is included in the price. Big dessert spread as well. which was pretty good. Medium — Do it yourself bloody marys. They bring you a little tray with a small carafe of tomato juice, vodka, etc. You make them as strong or as weak as you want. It was a little bit of a mission preparing it, etc. I prefer it come to me already prepared :) Mild — the taste of the food. It was just okay. There wasn’t one thing I tried, that I loved. Also the atmosphere — not ur usual brunch crowd. Not a lot of people watching. Overall the experience was just OK. Not a fan and probably won’t go again.

Has been serving the best Sunday brunch in South Beach for over fifteen years(let’s just pretend I was a teenager the first time I came here, okay?) Delicious veggies and salads including beets with maytag blue cheese, tarragon broccoli, mozzarella and tomatoes, roasted sweet potatoes; sushi; bagels and lox with all the fixings, homemade fluffy waffles with blueberries and real maple syrup. I’m not a red meat eater, but my brunch companions raved about those options as well. And then the desserts… oy vey! I’m not a big eater, in general, so I usually don’t get my money’s worth on all-you can eat buffets, but $ 35 a person seemed like a good bargain. Too bad they don’t have a champagne option: like, say charge an extra $ 20 for all you can drink champagne, ’cause although I certainly can’t eat my money’s worth, I can drink it! $ 15 for a mimosa seemed rather ridiculous. Came back for lunch the next day and had a huge sushi grade yellow fin burger for a mere $ 12.

Brunch on Sunday with 7 other people. The Bloody Mary’s come as seperate Vodka and Bloody Mary Mix mini-Carafes that you mix yourself, along with a baby bottle of Tabasco sauce. Great idea, but the mix was lacking flavor. The Buffet Spread was awesome, offering different roasted meats, salads, omelets and pastries. The Dessert course was a bit overwhelming. There were about 15 – 20 different items, which of course I had to try all of. They were all pretty good, but I had to take a 3 hour nap to recover.

They’re their own worst enemy. I ate dinner there about 6 months ago and really liked it– those lobster hash browns were amazing. I came back last Sunday for the famous brunch. I always heard that it was packed, yet the restaurant was near empty. hum. The selection was great, but almost every dish missed. The bagel was great as was the fruit. Too many dishes were so dry. Even the huge dessert selection barely had a single winner. The nightmare was that we got up to get more food and came back to a completely empty table– no water, coffee, silverware… Suddenly the manager comes by to imply that we had just snuck by him to seat ourselves. When we told him that we’re in the middle of eating brunch, he got snotty. What a jerk. Our waiter was excellent. Bad food and snotty management made this place empty for brunch. Too bad.

I’m going to be as fair as I can with this review… Went for the Sunday brunch which I read on here that was fab. Indeed it was! The food choices were amazing. From exotic salads, to waffles, to omelets and a meat station. I cannot complain about the food or the service. Oh wait, the service… Needless to say, I checked my bank account 2 days later and I had been charged twice. The waiter gave himself a $ 99.93 tip. Thankfully my bank(chase) discounted my account within 24 hrs, but the bad taste that the waiter(Phillipe) left on me was enough to not want to go back. Or I’ll just pay with cash. I will go back, it was that good, I’ll just be extra careful.

I’ve come here twice. Both times on a Sunday for their brunch. The price is $ 35 dollars and you’ll find an array of delectable eats for your palate. First, omelets are included at this price so get crazy and ask for anything you want on it. They have your usual breakfast foods(confetti hashbrowns, french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage). Each time I’ve visited, there must have been over 20 different dishes to choose from and about a dozen different desserts. Today I feasted on fresh motzerella, tomato and basil salad. Rump roast, couscous, maki sushi, blackened salmon and fresh greens(and yes, I inhaled all these myself) The mimosas are pretty good but not included in the brunch price(boo-hoo) Kid friendly and the place definitely caters to large groups.

While vacationing in SoBe, Elizabeth and I planned our first dinner in South Beach at Nemo, a fantastic seafood restaurant owned by the Myles Restaurant Group who also owns other South Point luxe/glam spots like Prime One Twelve. This is a beautiful, relaxed little area with some of Miami’s best food. And outstanding seafood. Finding the weather unseasonably cool(upper 50’s — thanks a lot, el nino), we opted for indoor seating. Not a downgrade by any means, but a slight hindrance to kicking off our vacation the way we had imagined. Thankfully comfortable, we were seated in a perfectly dim room with just the right ambient noise level, at a table large enough to provide space for the bounty of bread, water, wine, salad and seafood we ordered, but small enough to allow our surroundings to fade away, cheshire grins gleaming toward each other. Elizabeth is a scallop freak. With good reason. They’re delish. So she naturally gravitated toward the pan seared diver scallops. This was an appetizer listing, not an entrée, but the waiter seemed to think it would be enough food to feed one person as their entrée, so she trusted him. She was not disappointed. (He was a good waiter, by the way. One of those career waiters — a «cool uncle» kind of guy who probably could have been a corporate America cog like us, but opted for a cash-on-hand, SoBe lifestyle with few responsibilities and a high fun factor. He was attentive but not annoying, friendly but not trying to be our friend. Just right.) A gorgeous looking plate arrived with a large mound of mashed potatoes(spiked with truffle oil — Miami’s favorite $ 5 entrée additive — every restaurant in Miami uses truffle oil wherever they can to increase entrée prices). The potato fluff was studded with three beautiful seared scallops and a hunk of rich short rib meat on top. Scallions and red-brown pools of pinot noir sauce surrounded the heavenly hill of food and complimented the flavors quite nicely. The scallops were rare on the inside with a delicious seared exterior. The short rib shredded effortlessly and the potatoes were the penultimate starch filler. Elizabeth isn’t a huge truffle fan but enjoyed the burly depth the truffle oil added to the dish. I opted for what I’m guessing is a hot item on the menu’s entrée list. Listen to this: Jumbo Lump Crab Crusted Grouper. I could have been sold on any one of those words alone. This plate came with an extremely generous bed of creamy sauteed forest mushrooms, thin but al dente asparagus sliced beautifully on the bias, atop which sat a tantalizing jumbo lump crab-crusted fillet of grouper. One may question whether jumbo lumb crab-crusting anything is really a beneficial culinary technique or just an unthoughtful piling-on of decadence, but in reality, it’s a measure of genius. The crab crust creates a shell that traps sweet moisture into the grouper, making the fish succulent and juicy on the interior, but lending a contrasting texture outside. The end product is a large piece of meat that provides what I found to be bite after bite of meaty, heavenly seafood. The mushrooms, asparagus and white wine-cream sauce added an unctuous base of flavor that made the dish even more complex and luxurious. Chefs often criticize garnishes like the little flower blossoms you see pictured above, but when one is vacationing to a warm weather climate in late February, these kinds of things nail home a certain vacationers’ satisfaction that we both appreciated very much. Having consumed paradise’s lunch earlier in the day, and seemingly the perfect dinner, one may think dessert would have been impossibly overwhelmed and, ultimately, useless. Oh contraire. We knew, going into our dinner at Nemo, exactly what we were hoping to have and were delighted to find it still available. This dessert is, quite simply, the best dessert I have ever had in my life. You can take your molten chocolate souffles, your tiramisu, your cheesecakes, bread puddings and crème brûlée’s and stuff them in a sack. Nemo’s got homemade donuts. Fresh, fluffy, light, chewy, and dusted in fine granules of white sugar, reminiscent of the beach you came to lay upon these things are my heroes incarnated as food. One needs not the decadent chocolate and tangy raspberry dipping sauces that come with the donuts, but one is fiendishly happy to employ them… you know, for some variety. As you can imagine, we rolled out of Nemo embarrassingly full, but with grins on our faces that indicated the indulgence was exactly what we had planned. With our seafood needs satiated and our ultimate dessert improved upon, the night’s dinner was perfect, setting the stage for a fantastic vacation.

As we were staying at The Mercury Hotel(above the restaurant), we made Nemo our arrival-night dining spot(without a prior reservation). Nemo was packed(on a Thursday night)(reservations, recommended) but our hostess offered us the opportunity to dine-at-the-bar: we did so. Our server/bartender was Joe. VERY attentive, very informative as to menu options. We did: Tomato Salad, Crab cakes, Sliders: spot on! Wine list is most adequate but we sipped on by-the-glass options. –1 star: patrons arriving were inconsiderate to those of us @ the bar — they were a bit intrusive as we all(the bar was fully seated) as they waited for their tables. –1 star: smoking is permitting within the dining/bar area. Downer. A younger fellow with 2 female friends were puffing up a consistent downwind distraction. UPSIDE: a very creative menu; considerate hostess and bar staff. Very reasonable prices for South Beach. I will return!

Love it. I used to live down the street from this place and couldn’t resist coming here once a week or so. There is no doubt that it is expensive and the service can sometimes be inconsistent, but that aside they have some of the best fish in Miami. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is great, especially if you can get an outside table at night. Definitely a good choice if you’re a seafood fan.

I’d been wanting to eat at Nemo for quite a while, and a friend had been bending my ear about their lobster hash browns for the past few weeks, so we headed there for a late dinner on a recent weeknight. Overall, I was not impressed. The place was practically empty, and every party that came in was seated in the same section — outside. Luckily it was a gorgeous evening, but we weren’t even given a choice to sit inside. Service started out great. But then I had to flag down our server to get a cocktail menu. After our food was brought out, our server was no where to be found. When we were finished, we had to flag down another server to get us boxes for leftovers, and bring us dessert menus. Then, and only then, did our server reappear — to take our dessert order, of course. She was missing in action again when we tried to request the check. I got the«That Touch of Champagne» martini, and it was fab. Fresh grapefruit juice, a nice kick of citroen vodka. It was served in a little carafe, chilled in an ice bucket, so it was really like 2 drinks in 1. At $ 15 a pop, it’s pricey, but if you’re a one-drink-and-out person, give it a shot. The food overall was good. But not excellent. And with Nemo’s prices and reputation, I expected sheer excellence. The hummus and bread they put out is a nice touch, but not really a good combo, in my opinion. They need to re-think this — hummus with flatbread or some kind of crunchy breadstick would work much better. I ordered the yellowtail snapper, which came atop a bed of lobster hashbrowns for my entrée. It was very good, and the lobster hash browns were tasty, but they didn’t live up to the hype my friend had created. He opted for the chilean sea bass and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. It was very tasty, but again, not worthy of the price tag. For dessert we tried the warm buttermilk donuts. They were very good, and came with chocolate and strawberry dipping sauces, and a scoop of creamsicle sherbert. Yummy! Dessert was probably the highlight of the meal for me. Nemo offers valet parking, but depending on the time and day, you’re better off trying your luck with a metered spot on the side streets. I’m tempted to give it another shot — maybe for brunch, but not for a while, at least.

Best service I had while in Miami, because everyone knows the service tends to suck here. That might be the reason why most places automatically charge gratuity. I had the ceviche as an appetizer which was pretty good. I feel that it was lacking in the lime department, but overall it was good. And for my entrée I had the chopped chicken salad. Everything about this salad was good, except the dressing. It was bland and unfortunately made the salad really uneventful. I also had a glass of Rose which was pretty tasty. They bring bread and some sort of dip with your meal as well which was very good, a nice touch. The atmosphere is great, I recommend sitting on the patio and enjoying the beautiful weather. This restaurant is a good choice, I just had to take a star off for having a crap ass sauce for the salad.

The food was great, but first, I first I must dedicate some space to the heinous barstools at the front bar. These bar stools are clearly intended as a punishment for those who arrive before their allotted reservation time. Beyond the problematic narrow wooden seat, there’s no where to put your feet for mounting leverage. And to make matters worse, the seat swivels, which caused me to bump unceremoniously into the lychee martini sipping couger perched next to me. Nemo, if you’re reading this, and you should be, get rid of those damn stools. If barstools were food, I’d go hungry. Luckily, Nemo offers many non-barstool delicacies that are delicious and delectable. The lobster and corn bisque was amazing, and the Vietnemese Beef Salad was good too, although if you’re shy about spice, this one is probably best avoided until you grow a pair. Main courses were also tasty. The corn stole the show in a special dish of Swordfish over Corn and Shrimp. The Crispy Skin Yellowtail Snapper sported a side of lobster hash browns, that go for $ 17 if you order them as an extra side, which seems a disproportionate amount compared to what must have been spend on the fish itself, as well as out of wack with the amount of lobster I fished out of the pile of potatoes. I was hoping for a more latke-style hash, but it was delicious nonetheless. There were a few martinis, and leftovers for sure. The next morning i sauteed the rest of the hash browns and put a sunny-side up egg on top with a little bit of salsa. Just as good resurrected, and I didn’t even have to wait three days. Everyone knows this place is delicious fairly consistently. But maybe you thought you’d go have a drink at the bar, and if you do, I recommend standing.

When Nemo pioneered the South of Fifth neighborhood so many years ago, it was an immediate hit. Since then has never lost its luster. The setting helps. The lovely Spanish-y courtyard with that magnificent tree providing cover is so special. The inside has a comfortable ‘90s retro feel. The service is, for the most part, unusually good. Save for the memorable experience I had one night with a waiter who had a hard time speaking and standing up straight, the staff tries very hard and succeeds. But, it is the food that really makes Nemo go. Beginning with the delicious bread and hummus and on until the dessert, the excellent menu never fails. I could name each and every entrée and go on and on. However, that would be boring. I will mention only one dish: the tuna burger for lunch. It is amazing. If you had to pick only one South Beach restaurant to go to, Nemo would be it.

You have not lived until you’ve eaten the Ginger rice ball at Nemo. Yes, I could talk about the atmosphere, which is warm, inviting and beautiful. Yes, I could talk about the great location, south of 5th. But I would do your tastebuds a horrible disservice not to go on about the ginger rice balls. These baseball sized balls of rice are a perfect symphony of salty, gingery, chewy goodness. I suggest the Nori dusted Tuna(which comes with a rice ball, of course).

I can over look a lot of things in a restaurant, except the food. The menu is nice, but quality of food and execution is very average. For example, I ordered the Yellow Tail Snapper, it tasted like a frozen, deep fried entrée. Two in our party ordered the scallops. I think there were four tiny scallops and they were fried in a thick breading. On the positive side, the service was some of the best that I’ve experienced. His name is Chief Himnatouya(sp?). He was very nice, extremely responsive and provided us with excellent service. If you decide to try this place out, you should definately request him as your server. I wanted to be more generous with my rating because it was a fun night, but the execution, in this kitchen, was poor.
