Sean Hennessy is an artist. When he cuts hair, he is like a sculptor who brings the beauty out of each client. He is fabulously talented but also funny, easy going and comfortable. But, most importantly, he wants to please! My wife and I have been his clients for over one year and our 20 something children love him just as much.

I have been coming to this salon under both of its names for years. Carlin P. does my highlights, and I routinely tell her that she is an absolute «wizard» with my hair. Despite being quite young, she is 100% professional and takes absolute pride in her work. My hair looks flawless and completely refreshed, and yet she never gets a drop of product on my scalp. She also works quite efficiently. I most recently had my hair cut by Michelle, and she did a great job too. And you would never imagine you could get such reasonable prices at an Aveda salon so near to Lincoln Road. 100% recommend!!!

Bethany is amazing! I love the way she did my color. She took my hair from grown out platinum blonde, to a subtle brown base with blonde highlights. Will definitely be back!
Just keep in mind if you want to have your hair blow dried after paying to get it colored/​highlighted etc., you have to pay another $ 40.

I have been coming to this salon for several years… The entire staff is very, very nice and super professional.
If you are looking for a good, reliable salon this is a great choice.

Wow! Michelle was absolutely amazing. Super caring, attentive, sweet — the exact person you would want to color your hair for so many reasons:
1. Listens to you and your concerns (Then makes you feel at ease)
2. Never pushed anything (products/​services) on me, rather made suggestions without pressure
3. Extremely talented at color (evident from all her years of exp)
She matched my color perfectly — I couldn’t be happier.

Sean Hennessy has been my stylist for two years, ever since I met him through the Van Michael 1 Year Anniversary Promo when the salon was offering free haircuts. His client list and talent has grown since then and, though the salon has changed Management, Sean has consistently made me feel like a «Million Bucks» each time I walk out of the salon!
The support staff is awesome as well!

Aiden and Lee… my new life savers! I’m a stay at home mom and haven’t had a cut in more time than I care to admit to and was terrified to try someone new (to me). I went to detlev (formally Van Michael) salon last Wednesday to purchase hair gel for my husband. I was greeted by Lee who was nothing short of amazing. I had my 3year old daughter with me which if it bothered them (I can only assume because she was bothering me) they said nothing and made us feel welcome. After making my purchase I asked if they had anyone who could «repair» eyebrows as mine needed help and Lee immediately set me up in a chair and cleaned them up for me along with giving me some much needed advice and pointers on care. I was so impressed with the level of service at that point I thought I’d ask about my hair and what could be done. Lee told me about Aiden and explained that was in the back and would be more than willing to come out and give me a quick consult. Scared, I agreed and Aiden came out, sweet as he could be, took the time to answer all my questions and without making me feel any pressure he let me know his schedule in case I wanted to come back. I expressed to him my desires and fears and I instantly knew I would be in safe hands with him. I finally made an appointment for this last Saturday. I came in with several pictures of what I was looking to accomplish and he was very honest with me about what would and would not be work with my kind of hair. I was also interested in purchasing a new shampoo and was able to use the exact shampoo when he washed my hair was so I would know how it would work with my hair. I’m almost afraid to brag about how great he is/​was because I don’t want someone else to steal his time! I left the salon feeling like a million bucks and I can’t wait for my next haircut! The rest of the salon staff, Lee in particular, are all great. Everyone was very kind and welcoming, the salon was immaculate with not so much as a hairbrush out of place. The music was nice, I was offered a variety of drinks. I have very long hair and don’t need frequent haircuts but I was treated so well and I’m so happy with the results and I can’t wait to go back! Thank you Aidan you’re the best and I’ll see you again soon Lee!!!
