Eye Q Optical and their staff have been catering to my optical needs for the last 8 months and I couldn’t be happier. They are THE place to go in south Florida for eyewear from designer frames to sport shades and everything in between. I am an Enlisted member of the military so I am far from rich but Eye Q Optical helped squeeze the following all into my budget: * New Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses * They cut my prescription into a pair of Prada frames which I purchased from them. * They cut transition prescription lenses into my military issued frames for me to wear at work. * They replaced a lens on the previously mentioned sunglasses which I scratched within a week of purchasing them(only me). That pretty much sums up the array of services which I utilized and how affordable they are(due to my budget). In regards to customer service, here are some details about my first visit to Eye Q Optical which should help. Shortly after moving to south Florida one of the things I felt needed updating was my eyewear game. A trusted friend recommended Eye Q so I figured I’d give them a try. An associate named Dimitri introduced himself and began to assist me. He was very helpful and easy going. He handed me whichever glasses I was inquiring about and offered some of his own suggestions. He even admittedly forced me to step out of my comfort zone and try on some interesting frames because you never know what you might want your new look to be. There was one pair I handed back to him and explained«these are amazing but they’re just not me» to which he replied«I know, I just wanted you to try them on but I would not have let you walk out of here with them». That exchange really let me know that he had my best interests in mind. He was all around cool and I had his full attention which is important to me. I highly recommend this place to anyone with any optical needs… or wants.

ive been wearing prescription glasses for a while but i came here to get my sunglasses prescribed. i had been looking around the beach for a place that would offer this service and this was the most affordable i could find. the owner is a very talkative, ambiguously amicable guy. i think we talked for about 20 minutes after the transaction was done. he recommended me some right-wing movies, tried to change my mind about visiting russia(because«youre brown and russians are racist», he pointed out) and also showed me in disappointment a US postal service stamp that he carefully saves by the counter which commemorates EID during the muslim season of fasting known as ramadan. yup, he is upset about the US postal service commemorating a muslim holiday on a stamp and blames president obama personally about it… so this guy is vocal about his opinion, which is ok… perhaps hes had very traumatic experiences with muslims or people of color in the past but he sounded a bit intolerant to me and i dont like intolerance so for that reason i have to subtract one star from this review. this is my way of protesting against intolerance. i still got mad love for russia though and will probably visit in the near future.

Had a great purchasing experience after this store was recommended by a friend. Needed a new pair of sunglasses. Fantastic consultation that led me to a pair I wasn’t even considering before. Now they are the best sunglasses I’ve owned. Highly recommend.

I had started a new job that had a flexible spending account and I did not know that the money is «use or lose.» So with that being said I did some research in how to spend FSA money quickly and I came to the conclusion of eyewear. I ventured out walking around Miami Beach with this in mind and I stumbled across this quaint little shop. I had walked in and noticed it was very busy with customers and this made me a little more curious. The gentleman with the Russian accent had asked me to help me. I had told him my situation with the FSA and he was, of course, glad to help me. I am an engineer and I do not claim to possess any kind of fashion sense what so ever but I was able to tell him what I was feeling and looking for. Second shot on the eyeglasses — he got it — he was able to pair me with a beautiful pair IC Berlin glasses that were extremely functional for someone a tad clumsy like myself. Beautiful and light design while also acting as a very rugged pair. He nailed the style I wanted for prescription sunglasses the first shot. It was a pair of aviator style Ed Hardy sunglasses. I simply said one phrase«funky» and it really nailed it. With that being said he was reasonable on how I had to pay with my FSA card and my personal card and even offered to let me use his personal computer in case I had to transfer some money over. I can tell the shop is very respected by the clientele that would come in both local and tourists and even had several locals come in and greet him and his other employee. I am usually a very frugal and cheap person but either he is a master of sales or just really made me enjoy my experience and sold me on it. I am not too familiar with optics and such but the experience was much better suited than my visits I had made to Lenscrafters and such. The prices stemmed from reasonable(Oakley) to ultra-high end(Cartier) I will visit this store again if I’m in the area for work or pleasure and this is the BEST way to finish off your FSA account for the end of the year.
