Helium was one of the first places I discovered when I moved to Miami in 1997, yes, it has been around THAT long. I wish I remembered the name of the sweet girl that worked there at the time, she was great. Over the years I have made it a point to check out the items they have to offer, it is quite eclectic and has some beautiful things for the home. Like all SoBe stores it is expensive, but you will find adorable things. The reason it has three stars and not four is because one of the owners was very rude in front of me towards an attendant, it was unfortunate and the last time I went.

Adorable shop! It has very unique gifts and friendly service. It’s just a little pricier than I personally would like. I would still highly recommend popping in, you never know what you will find!

I really love this place! Unlike many of the shops in South Beach I’ve popped into, Helium has a ton of really unique items that I would not and could not have found at many other places.(In South Beach or otherwise.) In fact, at least three gifts that I gave away during the holidays were purchased here including, daschund salt and pepper shakers, fashion icon caricatured tea bags, and vintage looking postcards from around the world. All random, yes I know — but that’s just one layer of why this place is neato torpedo baby! There are tons of cool home décor items(some which are downright expensive) but there are also plenty of cutesy, mid range items as well. The woman that was working during the time I dropped by was awesome. The shop is fairly small, so once she introduced herself once and offered assistance she just kicked back and let us browse. She was also so knowledgeable about everything in stock, providing a wealth of information anytime we inquired. I have a feeling they switch things up often, so I’m definitely looking forward to my next trip to Miami to see what ‘s come in since my last visit!

Great little store, with lots of interesting, but expensive stuff. A lot of fun really unless you have to return an item! Having spent over $ 1000 in this store I had occasion to return one item. They simply wouldn’t do it. I waited an hour for the store manager and nothing. I guess when you are on SOBE you can afford that attitude and don’t need local business. Not. what one would expect in this day and age. They lost a customer today.

Finally, a little quirky shop in South Beach that isn’t A. a chain, or B. sells trashy clothing! Anyways they have all sorts of fun homewears and things that would be great for gifts. The guy behind the counter was really nice. I was also excited to find a store that has lomography cameras for sale that isn’t Urban Outfitters…(and much more reasonably priced too!) I am now the proud owner of a Pink Fisheye 2! Thanks Helium!

This is a cute little store with a bunch of random things in it. I’ve gone by it countless times & never noticed it before… mom my actually did. If you are looking for a unique little gift or something interesting for your home this is your place. They have a bunch of quirky watches, lamps, clocks and random other stuff. I love little stores with random things. The sales people were also attentive & kind, not too pushy.
