Just as everyone says, a hidden gem in Miami beach! Lous is a super chill spot with a pool, good beer & cocktails and really good food. The service is typically very good as well, I’ve never been disappointed! The salmon tartare is a must have. I read some reviews saying it’s over priced, and those people must not live in Miami beach. It’s very decently priced. Always a good time at Lou’s, I’ll definitely be back!

A hidden gem! Don’t let the name«Beer Garden» fool you. The food is delicious, upscale and the atmosphere and swanky… perfectly Miami without the pretention. Do yourself a favor and give Lou’s a try. It will become an instant favorite.

Nice chill spot. Hidden in plain site! When I finally walked in the first thing I noticed was the pool in the middle of place and I wouldn’t help but wonder how many people have fallen in it. According to the bartender none, disappointing really. They have an extensive roster of craft beer. The ambiance is chill. You can seat at the bar, have a table around the pool or just stand somewhere. Which ever option you go with the place is nice. I have the objective of trying most of their craft beer not all in one seating though, wish me luck.

Gran lugar.

I have lived here on north beach for a couple years now, and have drive by this place hundreds of times. I finally went a couple nights ago, and finally know what it is. The location is amazing. Hidden In a courtyard surrounding a pool, it almost feels like you step into another world. There is a wide selection of craft drinks, and a good vibe. The only downside is the ridiculous prices for food. Seriously, this place would make a KILLING if they offered food at a reasonable price. Most craft beers are $ 6-$ 10, which is reasonable considering location and ambiance. But when appetizers are $ 15 – 20 each, I would rather eat somewhere else and then come here for a drink. Too bad. I will definitely be back, as location and drinks are awesome. If they would lower food prices, I would have all of my friends join me weekly for dinner and drinks.

What a fun spot! For a romantic or chill evening, come here on a weeknight. It’s incredibly quiet and feels homey with a backyard pool. However, it still has an intimate charm about it. They have an extensive collection of beer, and with Unilocal check in you can try one for free. A lot of the beers are from local Miami and Fort Lauderdale breweries. This place feels very private because it’s shaded by trees, something rare in Miami. With hanging lights, you’re bound to feel like you’ve escaped out of the city. Lou’s beer garden is best suited for a small group.

I don’t get the rave reviews either. I went here and had a sub par experience. If you are looking for a cocktail, they are actually pretty good it seems. The people I was with ordered cocktails and the bar tender made a personal visit to our table to confirm what they wanted. I thought that was a nice touch. However, if you want a beer. Good luck. I tried to order about 4 different ones but, they were out of them. But, I wouldn’t know this until the server had checked with the bar tenders. The fact that it is a beer garden makes me wonder if it is indeed a beer garden. I ended up getting something that wasn’t a craft beer. Also, why is the food so expensive? $ 23 for a small pizza! I refused to get food here.

I went for brunch this past Sunday. My breakfast burrito was absolutely amazing but almost anything might have tasted great after waiting 50 minutes! The waitress was not proactive in telling us what the delay was so we had to keep asking her what the heck was going on. I MIGHT call ahead to order the burrito again but I certainly wouldn’t go back to dine in. . When our food finally came out, my friend who had ordered pancakes didn’t have syrup. Again, we had to flag her down at which point she said someone had to go buy some because there wasn’t any on site. No syrup on site during Sunday brunch AND you had to go buy it AFTER you served the pancakes 50 minutes after they were asked for? None of it is logical. So yea, good food, terrible service and no apology for the nonsense that we experienced. First and last time that I’ll be visiting Lou’s.

Everybody raves about this place, but I really don’t get it… Small place, in the back yard of a small hotel. No parking. Overpriced food and drink. Tiny bar, with about 4 seats. Only«craft» beers without even the option for a more popular well-known domestic brand… Oh well…

I have been driving by this place for years and have always wanted to stop by. I saw that I get a free beer just by checking in so I thought I’d give it a try. You walk in, and at first, it’s like you are walking into an old apartment building. Then you get to the pool and think this place is awesome. Candle lit tables and smooth music equal the perfect combination for a post beach wind down. But, why is it empty? The waitress came by with menus and confirmed our free beer. I look at the first thing on the menu and it says Ahi Tuna $ 21.wait a sec. I thought there would be bar food. Next thing I notice. High Cholesterol Mac and Cheese(actual name) for $ 19. Prices seem a bit high for where we are at. I guess I wasn’t expecting this considering we are in the middle of what looks like two motels. I decide on a $ 15 burger factoring in I just got a free beer… Drunk math… And the end result… A good $ 7 burger. This place has a great ambiance but it is over priced for it being outdoors and hot. It might be better when it is cooler outside. On the upside, they have a great beer selection. Would I come here again? Yes for the beer and to have a nice ambiance in a place that seems underground or hidden. Well… Maybe. It’s worth checking out once. Everything was ok but the food is double priced. As a local, I would be here all the time if the prices were a bit more reasonable or they put out some fans.

What a weird and cool place! I kind of doing want to Unilocal about it so that the secret remains, you know, secret. But since the pig… er…I mean the CAT, yeah, the CAT is already out of the bag… here goes: We stopped by on a whim on a Saturday night, looking for some good drinks and a light dinner. The entrance to this place is a bit hidden, and we weren’t sure we were in the right place until we caught a glimpse of the pool in the back of the«hotel» that hides it. Lou’s feel like a dude’s back yard. It’s small, and the tables are set around an in-ground pool. It’s very intimate, to the point of feeling like you’re invading someone’s private backyard luau. Until the super sweet Easter European server stops by your table, rocks your world, and changes your Iife. But I can’t write about that here. The beer selection is awesome(though be warned that the guava paleta beer tastes like nothing), and the cocktails are pretty sweet(though I’d advise against the pumpkin Moscow mile – but who, besides me, would order that anyway?). Have a good time and explore the extensive alcoholic offerings. The food was delicious. Three of us shared the ceviche(with a generous serving of fresh avocado), mac and cheese, … and something else that was great but whose memory has been clouded by the general good time Lou’s induced. And then there was«Charlie»… Ah, good times! ;-)

My friend and I ventured up to North Beach and stumbled upon this amazingly chill spot. For a «beer garden,» it was pretty and quaint and had a relaxed vibe. The dozen or so beers they had on tap were a nice selection, their service was good(not quick, not slow — more like chill-with-a-smile), and their whiskey selection was HUGE. We liked the place so much we stayed hours later than we originally planned to. We ended up having their free check-in lager(nice, smooth), their lychee drink(sweet, refreshing), some Miami Weis’s(I’m a hef kinda girl, so they were perfect), and a whiskey sour(I love me a sour made with fresh ingredients and an egg white; I would give their sour an 8⁄10). All in all, the not-too-loud music and the strung-up-lights reflecting on the pool water was the perfect way to end a crazy sleepless South Beach vacation.

As suggested by my aunt this was our first stop of the night while we were in south beach for my bachelorette weekend. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff is super friendly. The story goes if you have way to much to drink you might get some extra free shots but jumping in the pool! To my surprise the food was delicious made from scratch and very flavorful. Definitely recommend this place to go have a couple bites, a drink and chat the night away.

Wow. Pleasantly surprised. The food was outstanding. We shared the Greek Salad and got 2 entrees to share. Scallops and the 14oz Black Angus NY Strip steak. Everything was so well cooked. The scallops melted in our mouths. The mushroom risotto that came with it was YUMMM!!! The steak was juicy and cooked to perfection. The fried pickles that came with it were crunchy and a perfect touch. Will definitely be coming back here again. The people next to us got one of their thin crust pizzas and it looked sooooo good. The ambiance is very cute. Little tables surrounding a pool. Good music in the background and the waitress was very nice.

Huuuuuge variety of beers, whiskeys, and very nice specialty drinks. The service was amazing, our server was very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. Our favorite thing was the cheese board. The three cheeses it came with I had never tried before and they were amazing. The only issue we had was the humidity— it was hot, but that is not the restaurants fault. This is a little hidden gem.

Lou’s is a nice spot for a unique cocktail. Their whiskey menu is absolutely incredible. I highly recommend visiting for brunch, or if you want to experience something new on a bright & sunny day. The service here is not as great as when I visited in 2012, but maybe it was just a bad day. The food is pricey, but delicious, and their whiskey smash is to die for! Make sure if you visit during the day to bring a bikini for the pool, and do not visit on a rainy day as there are only about 8 covered seats. Lou’s is overall a nice hidden little gem. Will be back soon!

This place is great if you’re looking for quality food and drinks and want to get away from south beach. The all-outdoor seating surrounds a pool giving it a fantastic laid back atmosphere. This is my favorite bar in Miami beach.

Lovely Gastro pub hidden away in the courtyard of an older Miami hotel. Good beer selections, great food, good service. The backyard is a garden of lighted trees surrounding a beautiful swimming pool. We stumbled on this looking for a spot to relax and were very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was.

Lou’s Beer Garden by now is a stablished institution in North Beach. Had the opportunity go to this place practically almost since they opened. Lou is the best host around. This place is really exceptional and i can say is one of the best places in NB. It is located inside a hotel and shares the space with it, adding thus a special felling. The strongest point is of course the beer options that they carry, but also the food they offer as part of their menu is exceptional both in presentation as in its deliciousness. What is the best part of the place is the people, you can find anytime a balanced mix of locals and visitors alike, and the mood is regularly upbeat. Sometimes, most in the week when the place is not as full as in weekends is a great place to chill out and relax. Great place! PD. Ask for Ivan, a true regular that is a staple of the place. Regularly you will find him at the right side of the bar. A great guy that always has a funny story to share.

Had high expectations of this place, but it felt short. Yes. is cute and is next to a pool. but was lacking character. I ordered the ceviche… and wasn’t at all what I was expecting… it came with tortilla chips that had way too much pepper in them… the ceviche was bland and the guacamole seem to overpower the rest of the flavors. Our server was ok, but this place seemed understaffed for a busy sunday afternoon. If I’m ever in this part of town. might give it another chance.

We went there looking for an alternative to the always crowded and touristy SOBE, so we remembered this place. And it was perfect :). The entrance looks a little sketchy but it’s all part of the charm, trust me. Service is not the best, they’re super nice but it’s just kinda slow. The place was kinda busy for a Sunday night, maybe because it was the last day for Art Basel, the crowd seemed eclectic and I loved that. People from different backgrounds, it makes it all that much interesting. Our cheese plate was yummy. It was just the perfect size. Our entrée which we shared was perfectly cooked, even the Brussel sprouts LOL. All in all, it’s a great place if you want to get away from SOBE for a while :). Give it a try if you can.
