My family and I stopped by this fairly new spot, the owner was very nice greeted & opened the door to welcome us. The space is small but the ambiance is very chill and comfortable.

The menu is wonderful with plenty of choices. We ordered from the sushi and entrée menues. Everything was fresh and delicious. The prices are quite reasonable. The restaurant is very clean and presentation of the dishes is beautiful. Unilocal readers, this place is a real winner.

This is a great Asian style neighborhood restaurant in north beach… much more than just sushi. Their food is very fresh and really good. An added bonus is that it’s reasonably priced. And the owners could not be more accommodating and appreciative of the business.
I went with a friend and we shared everything and both agreed it was all great. We had Tuna Tataki (mayo on the side) $ 9 — beautifully seared and flavorful; Vegetable Spring Rolls (2 pieces) $ 3 — crisp and light; Beef Ramon Soup $ 11 — perfect in every way; Fuji Signature Roll, a combination of salmon, avocado, scallions, masago and topped with shrimp tempura and sweet fuji sauce — nice!; and we also had salmon, eel and white tuna sushi — so fresh!
The other nice thing about this restaurant is that there is plenty of available parking around. Everything about this restaurant makes it worthwhile!

And let there be fusion! I hit the jackpot with this sushi and sake lounge. This place has great service. The beef ramen noodles are FANTASTIC and soothing. The chicken katsukan all blends together to make a great taste. The shumai is great and cleans your pallet. The desert: brownie and ice cream is awesome and hot and ready to be eaten. The service is great here too! This is a place with some food to savor! I was hesitant to write this review because it was so good and I wanted to try everything.

Nice atmosphere, food was good, not excellent, just good, decent prices for the area. Considering you can get fleeced around this area. Relaxed chill place with good light and music that won’t disappoint.

Fresh sushi/​sashimi/​nigeri prepared in a relaxing environment. Everything from the gyoza to the special house drink, passion fruit infused green tea, is delicious to the last drop.
Having eaten at the majority of the sushi places Miami beach has to offer, this place stands out for some reason. Maybe it’s the thicker slices of fresh tuna. Maybe it’s value for your money and attention to good, friendly service. Either way it’s worth checking out.

This restaurant had excellent sake! THere house hot sake is great. Their sake prices are reasonable. We were visiting from orlando for a dance competition, we found out this place just opened and tried them out. They have excellent miso soup (there is actually different choices of miso soup.), good sushi rice and excellent sushi. I had their vegetable sushi, which I enjoyed. We walked to the location so we drank alot of sake. The staff was attenttive, cleared our plates super quick and kept the sake coming. I recomment this restaurant.

We visit Miami beach for 1 month each year & are always looking to try new restaurants in the area. We discovered Kanpei which is new, and it is a gem! The
vibe is very cool and the food is excellent… very fresh! My husband had the tuna fatalities and I had the Ramen soup and Singapore noodles… all were fresh, cooked to order and not loaded with sodium. Raoul, the owner is very nice and couldn’t do enough for us. We sat at the bar & I could see into the kitchen… it was very clean (something I always try to see when I go to a restaurant). Prices are resonavle too.

Great Asian fusion restaurant/​lounge!!! I was in Miami on a business trip with my partner and we decided to give Kanpei a shot. We went there for dinner and drinks. Food was great we order some rolls and they were excellent!!! We also had some sake that the owner recommended for us and it was great!!! We will definitely come back to Kanpai the next time we we are in town!

I love a good Asian fusion spot. Needs work tho. I’d stray from the dumplings and go straight for the Tuna tartar. I’m giving them five stars because I want this place to work and I believe it can be. But as of now it’s more of a two. Best of luck neighbors!
