This is the perfect place to feel at home even if you aren’t from Miami. It feels like the bar you always go to in your neighborhood. Chill vibe, great prices – especially during happy hour – and the regulars seem like cool people. Definitely come here if you’re looking for something cozy as opposed to all of the regular night clubby stuff around here.

I went to this bar to have a drink. As I walked in I saw the bartender yelling at a couple and though they must be drunk tourists that got out of hand. I live in Miami and usually avoid expensive bars that charge $ 6 dollars for a beer when I can get a 6 pack for that price. I went in and ordered a beer for $ 6 and gave the bartender a 2 dollar tip for a total of 8 dollars for a single beer. The bully bartender told me it was happy hour and it was 2 for the price of 1. When I ordered my 2nd beer he said that will be $ 6. I told him that it was my second beer and since it is happy hour it was supposed to be free. At this point he yells at me «The beer is 6 dollars if you don’t pay for the beer I opened I will call the cops for leaving the bar without paying for the beer». I was surprised by his yelling at me and his bully altitude. I believe that karma takes care of bad people. I paid and left. I can’t believe that this bartender rips off customers and intimidates them by yelling at them and rips them off by threatening them out of pure greed. I would avoid this bar and definitely not take a date unless you want to be humiliated in fount of them.

Quite a unique spot in SOBE! The bartenders are friendly, and the drinks are strong and cheap. We came here on Tony Bourdain’s recommendation, and we noticed there were lots of locals mixed in with out of towners. People watching here is primo. The smoke can sometimes be bothersome, but usually the door is open. Sitting near the door helps to diffuse the smoke.

The Deuce was a must stop for us and one of the main reasons we took a trip to Miami. We were so anxious to meet Mac after seeing him on Anthony Bordain’s show. We’re were devastated to hear he passed away a month before our visit at the age of 101. We still made it a point to go to his place and toast his life and all that he has given to the armed forces and to anyone who had the privilege to enjoy a drink at the place he made famous in Miami. The bartenders there are the best and still enjoy telling stories of Mac and we really had a great time. You can tell that his spirit remains in the club and if you stop by, a quick shot and a hand salute is a must in his honor.

A fun non pretentious place to hang out in South Beach. Crowd of all ages clock here. One can spend time here with oneself and with group of friends. Non touristy and reasonably priced. Just remember they don’t take plastic(debit/credit)

Best dive by on the beach by far! Bartenders are amazing! Fast as long as you put your drink on the rail! It is loud and smoky! But it’s a dive bar!!! Do you expect anything less?!? Totally a locals bar. If you stay long enough you will totally see awesome stuff go down. You can’t make this stuff up! Alyssa, Amanda, Allie, Angel, Mel, Kenny. Definitely the best bartenders on the beach! Check it out!!!

Dive bars are an endangered species in this country and«The Deuce» is one of the few left in south Florida(Tobacco Road and Fox’s having recently bit the dust) as every thing has to be shiny and new in Miami. The Deuce is a breath of fresh smoky air in the glitzy, over priced, over hyped, aesthetically pleasing South Beach. The place has character and is usually full of characters. Beers are ice cold, cocktails are stiff and both are cheap. Laminate bar, mirrored walls, pink and green neon round out the quintessential dive atmosphere. Staff is friendly and quick to refill your libation. Diverse crowd, as I’ve sat next to almost every walk of life, race, age group in my visits. Bum one day, successful business man the next. Such a unique place.

Well I love a good dive bar both the good and the bad! First, the good– the prices, payed $ 18 for two beers and a shot of Don Julio… err really a glass or three shots! Compared to the rest of South Beach. total bargain. Second, the bad– everything but the prices :)! The place is a hole, bigger issue is that bars that allow smoking get Smoker Migration! Although smokers make up 25% of the population, they make up 100% of the Dueces patrons, plus the two bartenders as a bonus. When the all light up… it’s a Cheech and Chong movie! Would I go back? Hell yes. it was $ 18 for the equivalent of 4 drinks!

It’s apparently the oldest bar in south beach and i believe it. The bar is shaped like this cool sort of wave too. Check it out, particularly if you’re trying to get out of the more general south beach scene.

Been coming here for years, One time I found a roach on my jack and Coke and the bartender told me it’s ok, it’s protein. No I said. Didn’t mean to write it until now how I was treated this morning. The bartender took care of me before. Lack of memory. Showed her my id. Yes it’s old. I got denied. I got an app on Apple Store that scans Ids. She refused. I don’t recommend this place ever again to no one. A local, good luck with the roaches. I’m amazed the city let’s this go. Being loyal sucks. Bartenders here at deuce need bartending school. So sad, bad repour.

In spite of its near perfection ss a dive bar, an oasis in a land of overly stylized everything, the history actually makes this a must stop in Miami. That Happy Hour that 2-for-1 Happy Hour starts at 8AM and runs 11 hours could be very bad for your sleep habits and liver. But what a way to go, like a Rock Star. Cheers Jason. RIP buddy.

Love this place! Have been here twice so far. Oldest bar in Miami full of neon signs, in a black décor laid back place. The bar is somewhat like a poker table, in that after you order you have your drinks in the double-down area to indicate that you want another drink. The drinks are $ 5 strong and you get a chip for a second drink, or you can have two drinks and forego the chip during happy hour. They sell shirts for $ 15. There is a pool table and a few TVs. They play really good 80s and 90s and the people at the bar are regulars, laid back joke around and converse freely with others. Bartender was hilarious and sarcastic, and you just get this good all around chill dive feeling without the tourist(as brickell people we appeared as tourist in there asking to buy a shirt, a request by my brother in law lol) we’d consider coming to thi spot for happy hour and the hitting up a restaurant afterwards as a nice way to explore south beach dining more frequently during the week days! Will definitely be back!

Wow… definitely the diviest of any dive bar I’ve ever been too. Place looks like it hasn’t changed its look or been renovated since the 80’s. The music they play and crowd in attendance matches the general vibe of the place. This is all fine by me but the big problem with this place is that they are cash only and have been for the past 50 years according to the bartender. Seriously? It’s 2015! I’m ok with your 80’s décor but get a damn credit card system and maybe I’d actually open up a tab and come back. Food for thought…

My first impression when walking into the bar was that this place has seen a lot of history. I mean, a lot. Maybe not some crazy 400 years of European history, but it has seen some big changes in America. It’s sort of stuck in the past, which is pretty cool in my opinion. Also, the owner is 100 years old, how crazy is that? I randomly stumbled in because the neon signs looked pretty cool, then I later learned it was on Anthony Bourdain and learned the history of the establishment from the show. The bartender was the definition of «DGAF», in a good way. Definitely a «call it as you see it» type of person. Poured me stiff drinks and had an interesting conversation. The bar patrons were all of different backgrounds, classes, etc. Very interesting and entertaining crowd.

Saw my man Anthony Bourdain at this bar in one of his latest episodes. If he loves it there, it’s worth checking out in my book. It’s south beach’s oldest bar. Bartender was great– his heavy hand made for some stiff drinks!

You have been targeted by the #havereservations Staff. Here is your review: Miami’s original dive bar. Atmosphere: small dirty dive, pool table and great socially angled bar. You can see and talk to everyone from any seat. Service: Snarky and fabulous. Kenny is a treat. You are treated the way you are perceived. If you are a douche, expect to be treated like a douche. Pricing: reasonable. Cash only. Bathrooms: small dive. Go before you go. The oldest bar in South Beach has tons of character and characters. End your day or start your night there but don’t be a douche. We have no reservations. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend was obsessed with this place, and upon bringing me for the first time, I was not convinced. Then we got a really stiff drinks, played some tunes on the jukebox, stayed and chatted it up for a while with the bartenders and fellow patrons– now I’m hooked! This place is a gem on SoBe and has been open for decades. Something weird ALWAYS happens when I go to «the deuce» but it always keeps me entertained. At first, I was turned off by the darkness and the grittiness but over time I have become the one dragging my boyfriend here instead of the other way around. I’d highly recommend coming by for a for a drink here and just taking in the history there. On the walls, you can find magazine articles framed from their decades of being open. Also, the drinks are dirt cheap and really strong! Amazing.

In my opinion, Mac’s Club Deuce is THE last true dive bar in South Beach; and certainly the oldest. Been at the same 222(hence, the name Deuce) 14 Street location for about 89 years(yup, opened just after prohibition in 1926) and having had only two owners during that vast time(the current owner, a friend of the first, purchased when his bud passed away and there was talk of the Deuce closing), Mac’s is not only the coolest dive bar in all of Miami Beach, but possibly in the world. Mac’s Club Deuce, or simply the Deuce to SOBE locals, is one cool joint. So much so, that now famously worldly traveled and purveyor of booze Tony Bourdain’s friends took him to the Deuce as his first stop on his very first trip to Miami… and he keeps going back. If you seek cheap drinks in SOBE, the Deuce is the only place you’re going to get really cheap — regardless of SOBE standards or practically anywhere else! 2-for-1 happy hour runs all day from opening at 8am(yes, AM) until 7pm! Cool laid back vibe with just friendly enough bartenders, awesome memorabilia slapped on the walls, and neon signs befitting of the old school SOBE scene(some left behind from Miami Vice shootings that were filmed there; MV actually had their wrap party at the Deuce when the series ended), the Deuce just can’t be beat for a retreat from the heat, lowest priced drinks around, and fantastic people watching(the locals are a hoot, but be sure to keep your eyes open for the occasional Keith Richards or other famous folk spotting… Kate Moss was once turned away at the door). An absolute MUSTDO when in South Beach. And don’t worry about being looked down at as a tourist. They welcome you. I highly advise you buy a T or tank(great conversation starter), ask for a few comp stickers, and maybe even«borrow» one of the bar coasters. When you visit the Deuce, you are really experiencing an authentic and important part of SOBE history that simple cannot be replicated. Savor the moment… because you never know when it might be gone… although I can never see the people in South Beach allowing that to happen… at least I hope not. Cheers!

The music was a saviour, the drinks where reasonable. Miami is a tough city to make friends however. Mostly cause of all the player action that comes and goes I was alone and had Tourist face all over me . So don’t blame the bar … Try it out if u like dive bars

This is place is definitely a locals bar!!! I LOVEIT!!! «People don’t go looking for the Deuce, YOU wind up at the Deuce!» I think that says it all… After a perfect dinner at A la Folie on Española Way, we were just walking down the street and didn’t feel like going home yet so we decided to go to the Deuce!!! Awesome decision, I’ve seen this place before but never stopped, I’m glad I did. It’s awesome, very colorful but definitely be back.

Definitely my favorite and therefore the best bar in South Beach. This place has literally everything I love in a bar. First off it is a dive bar, so divey that they refuse to let any outside light in during the middle of the day. The place is also a real dump, aside from the big screen TVs and the jukebox, I wouldn’t call a single thing in this place even halfway decent. The prices are amazing, the have a 2 for 1 deal the entire day and they open at 8 am, imagine the trouble you could get into with that amount of booze at those cheap prices. The staff is perfect, surly and taking no bullshit but also surprisingly funny and nice. Kenny is the man, he makes your drinks strong just the way I love them and has a great sense of humor. Both my friend and I spilled drinks and while he threw a towel in our faces and told us to clean that shit up, he also refilled the drinks for free. Only downside is that they allow smoking which I hate but not enough for me not to love this place. Greatest South Beach Bar EVER!!!
