Don’t go to this place. The cost is not worth the poor service and average food. I went with 2 other girl friends and we got the three egg omelet and French toast. Everything came out cold. The potatoes that came with came out cold and soft like the food had been sitting for a while. Our waitress took our order and never came back. The food runner brought out our coffee but no sugar; two waters instead of three; food but no utensils; salt but no pepper. I finally had to wave down the hostess to get us everything we were suppose to get. I wish we had the option to not tip but it was already included in the total. Ohhhh and the cost of our beverages was ridiculous we had tiny tiny European size coffee for $ 3.50 and a sprite(with no refills) for $ 4.50. DONOTGOHERE.

0 out of 10. I am surprised this restaurant is even in business/exists. This was the absolute worst restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life! I have never written a review before but decided to because I was absolutely appalled by the poor service, bad and extremely overpriced food, and inadequate manager.(PS: DONOTORDERSIDEOFTOMATOESWITHBAGEL– really just an overpriced Thomas’s frozen bagel– BECAUSETHEYWILLCHARGEYOUANADDITIONAL4DOLLARS, LEADINGTO A GRANDTOTALOF $ 10SPENTON A CRAPPYBAGEL– without telling you and is not listed on the menu– robbery?). Also do not order the oatmeal, it is bad and overpriced. You are better off going to the grocery store and buying quaker oat’s instant oatmeal instead– it tastes better and is much more affordable. Also, be aware that a glass of orange juice costs $ 8.00, spend your money elsewhere. Our waitress did not know what raisins, and fat free milk were(even after being explained to her in a variety of ways), or grasp the concept of correct utensil use with different food types– I needed a spoon to eat oatmeal as they only provided us with knife and fork. She also sauntered around the restaurant and did not cater to our table(like re– fill our water glasses, give us or check in a timely fashion, give us a correct check, check to see how disappointed we were with the whole experience). Also, beware, they include gratuity(18%?!!) in the bill(most likely because they would never receive tips without forcing people to pay for their inept service), but just in case you find your self eating at this dumpy restaurant and do not feel that you should pay gratuity, tell the manager. He will hassle you and give you a hard time, but eventually, after you’ve waited approximately an hour for them to «fix your check», he will remove the gratuity from your bill and you will leave this restaurant completely unsatisfied, robbed, angry, and hungry. Bathrooms are clean is only plus(probably because part of a hotel) and I only know this because we were waiting for so long that I was fortunate enough to make a couple of trips to the toilet? End of breakfast grand total: $ 80.00 for four people not including the tip because we refused to pay gratuity(essentially 80 bucks on a frozen bagel, oatmeal, scrambled eggs w toast, and omelet, oh and don’t forget the OJ).

If I could give this place 0 stars or negative stars, I would. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my entire life! My girlfriends and I were in Miami for the first time for a mini vacation. We were walking along Ocean Drive and decided to try Ocean’s Ten for brunch. Our waitress was a sweet girl(at first) who just came from Argentina and had just started waiting tables at the restaurant. She spoke very little English, which was a bit frustrating because she did not understand any of our questions(ex: do you have peanut butter?), but we weren’t going to give her a hard time over the language barrier. Long story short, our drinks took forever, the food took forever, we received the wrong order, and the food wasn’t that good, but that was not nearly the worst part. After being ignored by the waitress during our entire meal(she was chatting it up with her friend nowhere near our table the whole time) one of us had to go up to her for the check. This is where it gets«fun». We’re sitting at our table and about 10 minutes goes by — no check. We’re getting antsy and she’s still chatting with her buddy. We complain to the nearest busboy, who manages to get her to come to us. She explains to us about something how the machine is not working properly and she’s waiting for the manager for our check. About 15 minutes goes by and we’re visibly annoyed. Our waitress finally comes with 4 separate checks for each of us… we didn’t ask for this and the checks have the wrong things on them. On top of that, one of us gets charged $ 4 for sliced tomatoes to put on her $ 6 bagel and our orange juices(no alcohol) are $ 8.50 each(not listed on the menu)…seriously? At this point we’re extremely annoyed and want to speak with the manager. Our confused waitress seems to have gone inside the hotel(Ocean’s Ten is outside Breakwater Hotel) to get us new checks when we told her we just wanted to speak with the manager. We all go inside where she’s near the register with this man who looks like a modern day Miami Vice d-bag(white pants, guido sunglasses). He’s the manager, fantastic. We start to tell him everything that has gone wrong since we’ve decided to get brunch here and he does not care one bit. We complain about the unknown prices and he responds with«this is Ocean Drive» in a rude tone and tells us we will pay for everything the checks say we got. After a lot of grumbling and pain we got our check with the gratuity taken off(they automatically add gratuity to checks), we paid, and left with our bloods boiling. This restaurant definitely put a damper to our morning and we were in Miami! We should have been just having a great time, not having to deal with ridiculous restaurant management!

This place is HORRIBLE. The people watching & the location is fine — if you like the touristy area. However, if you are coming to have a bite, you’d do better at McDonalds. We ordered the brie & guac appetizer. The brie was fine — that is not hard to mess up. The guacamole was the kind they squeeze out of the tube. How cheap, how gross and how bad! We then decided to share some mussels. The menu described the sauce as spicy red tomatoe sauce. Well, the sauce was the sauce they use in Spaghettios. DISGUSTING beyond belief. I’d rather eat my napkin. The mussels this time of year are not huge, so even though they were half the size of your pinky, at least they could use something other than Spaghettio’s sauce. GROSS. Drinks were fine. Nice host. Friendly waiter. Ok service but seriously, NEVERAGAIN!!! EVER! Just remember you are in Miami so tip is included. If you want Spaghettio’s go buy them & save your money from these thieves. Can I give a negative star rating???

Umm… no. No, no, no, no no… absolutely not. Let me tell you how it is, from a New Orleans native — capital of best foods in the world… NO. DON’T DOIT. DON’T EVENSAY«I’LLGIVEIT A SHOT». Seafood was very bland. Ummm hello! I eat seafood at least 6 days a week in NOLA and my 5 year old cousin could boil better seafood than this. If you check out my profile, you’ll notice that I do not often post negative reviews. This was one of those few exceptions.

Nine is the Medusa of all restaurants, alluring new visitors to Miami with its outdoor dining(perfect view of Ocean Drive), beautiful décor, and a promising menu. Once you fall into her trap, as we did, the nightmare begins! Exhibit A: «$ 25 Margaritas» — say wat!!! Exhibit B: Horrendous customer service! Why? 20% gratuity automatically included!!! Exhibit C: Mediocre food: / There are far better restaurants in SoBe to put your hard earned $$$ towards, and Nine is def NOT one of them! ___________________________________________________________ See more: ___________________________________________________________

On saturday Me and my friends wanted to hang out at ocean dr during the Miami Music Week to have lunch and some drinks and this restaurant really caught our attention. They had a female Dj(dont know if she was famous) mixing great music and singing, the environment was just right. Not everything finished up being perfect though, no complaints about the service or the food, but to give a perfect 10 they should definitely bring down(or at least show in the menu) the price on the cocktails!!! Also for the price you pay to stay there for more than 2 hours the bathrooms inside the hotel deserve to be clean… Anyway, we had lots of fun and probably overpaid for a couple of drinks but, you dont often do this and moments like that one will probably be remembered.

First ever review written. The most over-priced food that one could imagine for the quality… which there was little of. $ 21 for a bowl of spaghetti with a few pieces of cut up chicken. $ 11 for a bowl of vanilla ice cream. I dine out often and I can not believe there is a place on Ocean Drive that serves such poor quality food. The price with 20% off discount was still 50% too high for the quality. Service was fine, but take your money elsewhere.

The steak was just alright. The gnocchi was much better. We were here for NYE, so the atmosphere and people watching was great.

I would give place .25 stars. The service was fine and a nice enough place if you want to pay for a $ 25 daiquiri. Usually if pricing is not on the menu you would think pricey but good food. Wrong! The food is horrible — Don’t fall for the bait! The steak was so chewy. If you didn’t have TMJ coming in, you’d definitely have it coming out. Worse is the total lack of flavor. The best thing on my plate was the instant mashed potatoes. The server was at least conscientious enough to offer me something else seeing that I didn’t touch my food but I declined and he removed it from the bill.

It could’ve been such a nice no strings attached«one lunch stand», but there were little things that spoiled what couldve been a pleasant memory that I would keep somewhere in my liver(since I dont have a heart) Overpriced food considiring the quality, but I closed my eyes to that since its a touristy spot so they take advantage of tourists like everyone of the restaurants on ocean Drive(its a Times Square of NYC) My steak despite me asking to cook it rare was very chewy and they charged $ 7 for single shot of espresso(always ask for price of everyting u order) pros-very nice waistaff, especially my waitress and hostess were super nice girls. plus another cute detail, there are girls walking around selling cigars. and the restaurant allowed me to smoke a cigar in outdooor area so it was me+steak+espresso and a cigar. Just like in Jack Vettriano’s paintings(if only i was a bit skinnier)

Happy hour drinks are watered down… waitstaff wasn’t happy with us because we cancelled an order that was off the specials menu that came out to be $ 109. Can we say major menu discrepancy!!! We decided to ask about the price after placing the order and reading Unilocal reviews to pass time… good thing we did… or else we would have been robbed!!! ASKABOUTPRICES… or be prepared to be robbbbbbbed!

I must respectfully disagree with my peer Alex H. Full disclosure: I attended the same meal, ate the same food, and experienced the same waitstaff as Alex described. So here’s my take on it: Nine has only been open a very short time. So I’m going to guess that EVERYONE is currently getting the 20% discount because they want to fill the tables. Now would probably be a good time to go if you want to try it yourself. The good: Interesting appetizers. Guacamole and brie on crostini is pretty creative and pretty tasty. And while I don’t take umbrage with the crispness of the crostini, I would have preferred the brie be slightly warmed so it would be more creamy in texture. All the other appetizers that we did not try also looked interesting enough to taste next time I’m back. My entrée. I had the curry shrimp. This was a very generous portion of shrimp(I counted 2 dozen in my bowl) served over basmati rice with a very delicate curry sauce and julienne vegetable. Think Caribbean curry, not Indian and you’ll be on track. I found it to be quite delightful and surprisingly light. And the seafood risotto was amazingly delicious! Yes, it was overpriced and they should have told us and frankly two or three of us could have shared it and therefore amortized the costs, but it was amazingly delicious! Creamy, but al dente. I would get that again(if I had a partner). The chocolate mousse dessert. Creamy and rich! Almost too rich and decadent in flavor. It’s hard to get chocolate mousse to taste like that. On a sidewalk. In humidity. The annoying: The bread. Hmmm… plain and boring is how I would describe it. I had mine with balsamic vinegar but it wasn’t really robust enough for it. The water. What water? How about refilling our glasses? Ever? The restaurant’s looking for a rating. As soon as they knew we were Unilocal, they were practically begging for a good review. I say, let the food speak for itself. You have some pretty good items on your menu and you seem reasonably accomplished and able to reproduce them on a regular basis. If you want a higher rating, get back to some of the fundamentals in terms of service and giving a good meal for the value of the money.

Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to this review. Congratulations! You are reading one of my coveted ONESTAR reviews! I do NOT hand these out easily; nor do I hand out five star reviews easily. Thou shalt not take advantage of your customers for our wrath is rather eternal. I was going to give a three or four star review until the check came. More on that later. Before sitting down, because we had a very large( Unilocal Elite) party in the building, we were given a discount to encourage us to stick around and try the food. I was VERY happy and gladly stayed. My party decided to pick the people-watcher seats along the sidewalk. Frankly, great seats. The only complaint I have is the odd cavalcade of people that would randomly come up and ask for money or food(or both). Is it the fault of the restaurant or hotel? No. I guess it’s just been too long since I’ve sat on ocean drive to eat. It took a while for the wine we ordered and the table bread to arrive. The house wine was ok. Nothing out of this world. Life moved on. The sweet bread came with butter, oil, and vinegar. Not a major complaint, but you need to decide, as a kitchen, how you want someone to eat your bread; picking either butter, oil and vinegar, or as other places have pesto. Pick one, not all. The bread was good and fluffy. For the appetizer course, we ordered the Guacamole and Brie on Crostini. It was a good combination. I really didn’t expect the combination to be good. The crostini was a tad harder than I’d care for. Once again, good, but not anything out of this world. For the entrée, I ordered the seafood risotto«special». Here is where everything falls apart; I just didn’t know it. The plate arrived and it was HUGE. Freaking massive. Three prawns on top with shrimp mixed in with the risotto. Wow. I had about half of the plate. I couldn’t finish it. Super buttery. Smooth. Very full of flavor. When I looked at the menu, the price of pastas ranged from 18 – 30 a plate. So I figured I would be paying in that neighborhood. When the check came at the end, $ 55! WHISKEYTANGOFOXTROT!!! THEFREAKINGFILETMIGNONONTHEMENUIS $ 35WITHSIDESINCLUDED. HOWONEARTHISTHISPLATENEARLYDOUBLETHEPRICEOFTHEFILET?!? ANGERANGERANGER!!! DONOTTAKEADVANTAGEOFYOURCUSTOMERSBYCALLINGSOMETHING A SPECIALANDHIDINGTHEPRICETHATISEASILYDOUBLECOSTOFEVERYTHINGELSEONYOURMENU!!! ARRGGGGG!!! For dessert, I had the nine chocolate cake. It’s pretty much a lava cake without the lava pouring out; just chocolate on the inside. The hazelnut ice cream was bland; more of a vanilla flavor than hazelnut. The cake was more of a cupcake than a cake. I was thinking I was getting a slice of cake. The«mixed berries» garnish was ONE strawberry sliced into three parts. Meh. I could tasted two or three chocolates, max. Nine? I doubt it. I’m not saying they weren’t there, they were just lost in the mix. When the check came, I honestly wasn’t planing to be paying so much for ONE entrée! It should have been sold as «an extra large» portion. Cut it in half(the size) and cut the price in half, and it would be acceptable. Footnotes: The server was friendly, but NEVER attempted to refill my water without me asking. He wanted to sell us $ 1 «filtered» water. Miami tap water is VERYCLEAN and NOREASON to pay for filtered table water. The«live» music was. umm… bad. My heart goes out to the poor girl singing. Music isn’t her calling. Bottom Line: DONOTORDERANYOFTHESPECIALSNOTONTHEMENU. THEYWILLTAKEADVANTAGEOFTHEIRUNLISTEDPRICES!
