Ignored by waitress and hostess. Decent food. I was here in Miami and thought I’d have better service.

On the Wednesday afternoon that 2 of us came here for lunch, this place was deserving of 3 stars for«A-OK». Though I see some others have given it 4 and even 5 stars, it certainly didn’t earn those ratings based on my experience. Know that parking is very difficult to find. There’s a parking lot next door, but it’s shared by the stores in that plaza, and each of the stores has their name painted on a number of the spaces. As soon as we sat down here at Norman’s, the first thing the staff asked is if we’d parked in the lot next door, and she explained that if we’d done so, it’d cost us more than $ 300 as the stores that owned the parking spaces were known to tow right away if they saw people park there and walk away from the lot. When we arrived here at Norman’s the place really wasn’t busy, we asked to sit outside and as there was only 1 table with people seated at it, we were invited to sit anywhere we’d like. The server was there right away to give us menus and take drink orders, and she returned in good time to take our food orders, but IMO, the quality of the service went downhill after that. We’d both asked for simple things, I a chicken ceasar wrap and fries, and my friend a wrap and a salad. Once we’d placed our orders, it took at least 20 or 25 minutes for our food to arrive. The server explained that the guy in the kitchen was working alone and they had a large table inside, but from what I could see when I went in later, the place was mostly empty. The wrap I had was very good, but they were pretty skimpy on the fries. The waitress did keep our drinks topped off throughout the meal, which was much appreciated. Once we’d finished our meals, we basically felt forgotten about. I went inside after several minutes to use the restroom and asked for the check on my way back out when I passed our server. Overall the food was good, prices were reasonable, but again, it took quite a while to get our food, and then to try and get the check once we’d finished. The bigger issue, however, is parking, as it’s nearly non existent unless you’re lucky enough to find an open space along the street somewhere.

Just disgusting. Food quality is similar to Mcdonalds. Service was attentive-when it gets to paying for the food. I went there twice and i waited for a waiter for 15+minutes. Food was cold, tasteless, cooks should be ashamed, so as the owner!

Food is Decent. Service is Horrendous!!! Incompetent wait staff for the most part. Neighbor casual restaurant. Sit outside and enjoy the breeze. Good for snacks and watching sports.

Standing the weekend in the area, at a hotel across the street, brought us to Norman’s. My friends and I came in for an early dinner on Friday afternoon before an endurance event that evening. They have a large outdoor seating area that is great for people watching and would be really nice to sit outside when the weather is nice. Their indoor bar area was also great but very dark, even in the middle of the day. They have two large pool tables inside plus a great bar area. They were pretty empty when we were there and our food came out a little slower than I would have expected. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad and the chicken filet was HUGE! In reality it was actually too much chicken; I had to cut a piece off so it would fit on the sandwich bread. Our server was very nice and accommodating but didn’t come back as often as I would have liked. Overall, great little sports bar to stop in if you need a bite to eat and you’re in the area.

I was staying in the area for the weekend with friends and we were looking for a place to have dinner Friday night. The front desk staff at our hotel suggested Norman’s since it was right down the street. The interior is very Irish pub with lots of wood. A little dark but clean and lots of seating. They also have some outside seating if you’re there on a nice day. I ended up getting the chicken tacos and fries. The tacos were tasty. Lots of filling and a really good sauce on top. Fries were good and crispy. I actually ended up ordering more sauce on the side to use as a dip for my fries. They have happy hour from 4−7pm Monday-Friday with half price drinks so my beer only cost $ 2.25. Service was friendly and fast. Glad to know there is a good place to eat in the area if I’m ever back down that way.

I was staying nearby for a night. and came here…3 times… dinner, lunch, and then HH… too much right? Anyways m-f they have HH from from 4−7pm and every night there’s HH from 12am(midnight) — 5am! There are better specials after midnight — martinis and stuff! For afternoon it’s just house drinks. I tried the tuna entrée which was good, the fries are TOODIEFOR though… i love love loveeee the fries. My friend’s salmon is good too– he got the salmon entrée. My other fries got the fish tacos which they said was good and i views as enormous! haha. Service is slow… but they come eventually.

This place is my neighborhood salvation. North Beach has plenty of restaurant options to choose from but pity the person who one day will find him– or herself hungry while walking down Collins Ave in North Beach. They will pass restaurant after restaurant and they should just keep walking — no matter how starved they may be – because frankly, most of the food establishments along the avenue should be ashamed of what they have the nerve to serve to the innocent person who may wander into them. It’s sad because I really love North Beach but many business owners seem to care less about quality. Perhaps they can survive by serving their negligent product because there will always be enough tourism so they will never have to depend on repeat business. Luckily there are some standouts and Norman’s is one. This is a consistent, professional outfit with no-nonsense american food and a great bar. Burgers, Grilled fish, seafood, steaks, chops, ribs, whatever you would want. I usually order items from the grill as this is where Norman’s really shines. The meat is really top-notch, we’re talking grass-fed beef and always fresh. They have this Catalan grilled mixed seafood platter I also highly recommend. Huge craft beer selection, pretty and able bartenders, friendly staff and Norman’s is open all day long. You can’t miss it – it’s the restaurant that always has customers sitting in the pleasant outdoor café tables. There’s often great music playing on their sound system and great people watching. I don’t understand how their competition can’t figure out why Norman’s has been around for so long and always does such great business. Because they actually care about what they do. I wish the other restaurants would follow their business model. It would make North Beach an even better place to live.

Got the appetizer sampler and it was laughable. They should be embarrassed. Huge pile of fries and obviously frozen over fried junk. I knew it would be fried but this is was something you could have gotten at McDonald’s. Wast of money and calories. Best to stick with a burger I guess.

Local’s beware! I have been going to Norman’s for years. I live across the street. Last night I decided to have a midnight snack with a friend. After sitting down someone mentioned the next venue over«Sandbar», so as a friendly local I advice. Our waitress goes ballistic on us! Screaming at us! I have never seen or experienced anything like it. Called the manager and bouncer and she was still screaming like a maniac! News flash«Karen» just because you work in a bar does not mean you need to behave like a ignorant drunk”! Shocking! Will never go back unless she is fired as there are a lot of great restaurants in the area in which I won’t get screamed at! Her loss as I am a good tipper.

Wonderful! I am staying at the hotel across the street. Super hungry at 10 on a Sunday night and randomly walked in Seated right away, the food was out very fast, and it was delicious. Service was awesome. And it wasn’t freezing inside like it is in so many other restaurants.

Every time I come here, it’s always good. We get seated quickly, and our orders are filled within a good amount of time. And reason I say this Is because Miami doesn’t usually have fast service. I enjoyed some drinks and had a chicken sandwich, a chicken wrap. the previous times I’ve been here I had salads, mushroom sand which, and a turkey burger. All which was good! It’s sorta like a pub type Place kinda nice to get away from all the Latin cuisines and fancy bars. We sat outside which was nice and not too busy.

Seriously this is the worst resturant iv ever been too. The taco with chicken was cold, the quality of it was lower than what would be expected of applebees. The service was extremely slow even though the place was empty. Our waiter was rude and didnt take down our order right. On the recipt he made it very clear how much to tip. He wrote down the total with 20% included(just incase we didnt notice he had a bunch of arrows pointing to it). Then when we gave the tip we added in an extra 50 cents, and the waiter would not take it. He told us the restaurant absolutely didnt accept change. And then he waited around expecting us to round it up to a dollar.

Ducked in for a little happy hour action with LG and it was a fine time, here’s why: * Clean * Nice, dark décor * Good service from bartender Alyssa * Happy Hour Pricing! We had the Coconut Shrimp with 7 cocktails and it was less than $ 25 bucks. SCORE! Cabeza OUT!

Great food, great service, clean and efficient — the place runs like clockwork to make you happy and well-fed. Service is friendly, fast & multilingual. It is not uncommon for the manager, owner or chef to stop by your table and ask if everything is OK. All the little details are cared for too — you will never(ever) find a dirty fork or a grease-stained menu. Even the kethcup bottles look like you were the first person to ever use them. These are nice little touches that shows the place is well-managed and well-cared for. In short, Normans has its act together, unlike most of the places on the Beach. I’ve tried nearly every dish on the menu and have not had a bad meal yet at Norman’s. Big, good sandwiches. Great steaks, fish, daily soups and salads. Generous portions too. The Marinated Steak Tips and Grilled Salmon are my favorites, not to mention TWO generous sides with every entrée, plus optional add-ons like grilled portabellos, sweet potato fries and other extras that are not available everywhere. If Mama taught you to eat your veggies, she would be a big fan of Norman’s, where REAL veggies are fresh-grilled and super good. Seasonings here are very unique. If you are a fan of cajun, chimichurri or pico de gallo, Norman’s versions are better than what you find elsewhere. Sriracha junkies will not be disappointed. Norman’s even offers a selection of tacos, bigger and better than what you will find in a taqueria. Grilled chicken or steak, mahi or deliciously marinated pork. They come with a side, and are a perfect light meal. «Soup is good food» and that includes the Jerk Chicken, Beef Veggie and other daily-made soups at Norman’s. Listen up, Lentil-Lovers… Great selection of wines from around the globe, with a variety of price levels to meet your taste. The Louis Martini Cab or Josh Pinot Noir are my favorites. Big selection of beers too, tap, bottle or microbrew. After-midnight drink specials for a nightcap is nice too. If you like vodka(but it sometimes does not like you) in addition to all the brands you already know, Norman’s serves a rare upcoming US-made brand called Deep Eddy. This ultra-clean vodka is distilled 10 times(roughly double what Grey Goose or Tito’s do). If you like sports, this is THE place to watch a game — without clouds of smoke. One huge theater-style screen, with lots of other TVs all over the place. There are no bad seats in the house, even during a championship when the place is lively and fun. Like all of Miami Beach, parking is tight — but the staff goes out of their way to tell you where to park safely to avoid the tow-trap. They offer reserved parking passes upon request. Norman’s is the perfect combo of high-quality, without high prices or the typical Miami Turn-Offs. Try it; you’ll like it.

My husband and I went in to watch a hockey game and have some beers. Despite the bartender being very busy with drink orders, she was still very nice to us. The appetizer we ordered was really good and the bill was very cheap compared to everything else in Miami we have seen. Reading other reviews makes me hesitant to try other foods here though since someone just posted they found a roach in their burger. I might just stick to beer.

If you are a niter like me and live around Dade County you may find yourself at Norman’s. It’s a very American bistro on Collins Ave and always busy because of the lateness of the closing and the drink specials and the high quality of the food, for a bar that is.
