Fiancé wanted to come here that’s the only reason why I agreed. The food was terrible. The«Orange Peel» Chicken tasted nothing like orange chicken and the shrimp fried rice was orange! We had to cover everything in siracha sauce just to make it edible. The two stars were for the service that’s the only redeemable thing about this restaurant was that the staff was very helpful and polite.

Don’t let the ratings for this place fool you! it is definitely a hidden gem! The food was delicious fresh and hot. The waitress was incredibly attentive and so nice! We ordered the orange beef sesame chicken and some shrimp and crispy noodles! You definitely should not judge a book by its cover! It might not be the most beautiful building but the food was excellent! Fair prices and walking distance from most hotels in south beach

I have heard the Chinese take out is not the best in Miami and after last nights dinner I am a believer. It was chilly so we decided to order delivery but regrettably the options were slim. Despite the reviews and my gut instinct I decided to give it try to avoid having to leave the house. 45 minutes later and $ 50 wasted our meal arrived. I didn’t think it was possible to mess up even the basics so badly. The«vegetable» lo-mein was horrible($ 10.50). There were a few frozen carrots and some soggy bokchuy and the noodles were saturated with oil of some sort. The sesame chicken had an odd after taste and also very oily. Needless to say most of the food was wasted because we threw it away. It was that bad. Do yourself a favor and pass on the«convenience» of delivery from this place. We will be paying for this meal in more ways than one because even now as I type this review the following day my stomach is still upset.

Ugh! Is all that comes to mind when I think of this place! Service is non existent, they ran out of what I ordered and arbitrarily substitute it with spring rolls. Have the decency to tell me at least! Food is below mediocre, only reason why I ordered from here is because there are limited Chinese option around, but even then I will for go this place.

We ordered in dinner from this restaurant tonight. I was concerned because of some f the ratings, but my experience was excellent. The food arrived on time and hot and delicious. My only issue was there should have been more eggplant in the eggplant vegetable dish. The shrimp dish had lots of shrimp as did the chicken dish. We will be ordering from Sum Yum Gai again.

We ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, seafood bird nest and General Chong chicken and they all turned out pretty good. In general, not bad Chinese food. Great service. Definitely would come back again.

If I could give zero stars I would. My boyfriend wanted Chinese food on South Beach though this had mixed reviews I said let’s give it a try. When I first came in there were workers lounging in the sitting area shoes off and everything. The menus were older than ancient. My thought was to leave immediately but he really wanted Chinese food. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered the most basic food that could be made chicken friend rice and he ordered beef fried rice. Portions of my chicken fried rice was hot and others were cold. My assumption it’s not fresh at all they freeze and and warm it up to serve. When I left there I was so sick to my stomach. I had to take milk of magnesia to relax my tummy. Avoid at all costs. Then the waitress had the nerve to add a service fee lol

Wow! Yellow rice for Chinese food! This food was horrible barely edible We ordered delivery it came extremely fast service was absolutely amazing however the food was disgusting! I took my neighbors recommendation to order from there and this was the last time I was asking for referral. We ordered something with shrimp in it and it came like shredded shoelaces and dryer than tree bark. The wonton soup was like eating rubber, and the free dumplings they give you were not even cook

Food is ok. One day it’s great and the next day it is just ok. They lack consistency. Not the best Chinese food on South Beach.

As fun as their name is to say… The food is not very good. We had delivery and it arrived hot but that along with the white rice were the only good things about the meal. The noodles were so thick and gummy they were one big lump. The orange chicken, ordered spicy had barely any flavor and definitely no heat. The rice with veggies was dry. Another chicken I think general tsao was just not good either. Very expensive sad experience.

It was hot as eff few years back in my hotel on my week long vacation in miami and i didnt want to go out during the day, so i found this menu from the lobby and it was a funny looking character with the funny take out name, delivery was pretty fast, and food was as good as the next, but portions wasnt as much… i am used to the large portions up north in jersey lol

A 3 star review for Chinese spots on the beach is basically the equivalent of a 5 star review somewhere else. I’ll add to the redundancy on the subject —there are basically no fantastic Chinese food spots on the Beach. Honestly between that and the fact that there are no Trader Joe’s in walking distance, I almost didn’t move here. The joint was pretty busy with one server working. When he came to us, the first thing he did was apologize for the wait – so unusual to get such an acknowledgment and I appreciated it. My Mikie is trying to go healthy lately – never hurts, eh? So we ordered 3 veggie dishes and I helped him understand the virtues of ordering sauce on the side. Everything arrived looking fresh and delicious and just right. If you follow me, you know I’m picky. And that broccoli is my favorite food. My dish was just as I requested and the broccoli was perfect and fantastic. I requested that the fried rice be prepared with as little oil as possible – it was perfect. Mikie ordered Buddha Delight and it was really delicious. The veggies were plentiful, more than most places around here. I had just seen Marky Mark in The Gambler, so I was in a good mood-the delicious meal was a great capper. The one caveat is that gratuity is included. We didn’t see that posted anywhere and only learned that when we were confused about our bill total. So be aware of that. Give SYG a whirl.

We ordered from here on Christmas Day, traditionally a very busy day for Chinese food. It still got here within the window they gave us, and the food was really good. We ordered the sesame chicken and the beef and broccoli, as well as the wontons and some fried rice. The sesame chicken was great — mostly chicken(instead of that mostly batter chicken you get at other places) and well spiced sauce. The beef and broccoli was also good. The broccoli was cooked well, and still had a crunch to it. Their spring rolls are really great as well. I didn’t love the wontons, but they weren’t terrible either. This will now be my go-to Chinese place.

With a name like this how could 2 girls resist? Lol. After a long day at the beach and before getting ready to get our night started, we stopped into this place which was conveniently across the street from The Clay Hotel, where we were staying. It’s not NYC chino’s. Definitely a little pricier. They’re fast. The service is always the same at chinese spots, so not much to say lol. The food was good. I had the honey garlic wings and the pork fried rice. I shared with a friend and we still had food left over. Those were bomb though. They were big too. Not bad at all and don’t have anything bad to say.

This place has a cute ambience. You feel like you’ve entered somewhere completely out of South Beach when you go inside — which can be cool if you’re that type of person. The people there are nice and the food was pretty decent. If you’re looking to have Americanized Chinese food, this place is perfect. The szechuan chicken wings are delicious!

A small place in the middle of the beach. Service as in most Chinese places is kinda cold but tolerable. The food was ok, nothing to go crazy about. I might give them another chance but then again I might not ;)

Fighting furiously for the crown of worst Chinese food in SoBe —(or maybe the world?) — we find SYG !! «Could I have some more grease on my Kung Pao Chicken please? How about an extra handful of starch??» Ordered a coupe items last night including the now infamous KPC above and… can anyone say«Gloopy-Shlop Oil Fest» ?? Disgusting all the way around — these people need someone like Gordon Ramsey to literally hit them over the head with a iron Wok. Simply Horrendous — cannot imagine how this place stays in business. Wouldn’t feed this stuff to my dogs. Sorry to be so harsh — but the lack of a decent Chinese restaurant in SoBe is a mystery to me as big as how a place like this and a couple of the other Chinese«JEWELS» I have reviewed here on Unilocal can stay in business — and it all just pisses me off !
