This bakery is exceptional. Due to all the construction in the area that constantly changes traffic routes it’s a pain getting here but trust me when I say this, it is still worth the visit. I come here every Saturday and get all the freshly made croissants and other baked goods. Highly recommend anyone to stop by.

THE BEST ALMOND CROISSANT EVER!
I’ve traveled in Paris, Geneva, and this almond croissant is the best I’ve ever had.
Everything we’ve tried from this adorable bakery has been fresh, fluffy, and incredible. It’s worth the treck around the corner from Panther Coffee to get the pastries directly from the source.
Best pastry bakery in Miami in my opinion. You won’t be disappointed.

Good and bad!
Start with good as that is simple quality! Great breads and great tasting other stuff bakeries do.
Now the bad, I was looking for a great bakery who do whole wheat breads in Miami Beach as I was growing tired of Publix. I found True Loaf and was excited to try them out, so I made my way over excited to find good tasting whole wheat breads
I entered the store and identified myself as a True Loaf virgin buyer and when that didn’t give any reaction (like how can I help you or let me tell what we do etc) I thought let me help you a little more.
‘Hi I am a first timer here and I look for whole wheat breads? response ‘we have flax seed bread that is multi grain’.
OK limited options thus let me try your flax seed bread and I guess I will have to look for another place as this is very limited for a baker.
So I left kind of disappointed by the lack of service, the lack of options too. Only to trip over the board outside which seems to indicate that this place has different breads each day and also has different varieties of whole wheat breads on different days
Ah now True Loaf if you would have only explained that to me, the person identifying as a first timer, who was looking for whole wheat bread and clearly was asking for help you may have gotten the 4 or 5 stars as the bread itself is pretty tasty service a 1 bread a 4 so a 2.5 stars rounding up to a 3
Will I try again? yes probably but not as enthusiastically anymore as I was before going
PS I also tried a chocolate croissant, while not as good as the real stuff in France it is better than in all other place s I have been on the beach a 4 star for that

Pricey but totally worth it. We got the coconut bread, the potato onion baguette, and the multigrain. We couldn’t stop munchin. The baguette was shaped into a pretzel and filled with onions, potato, and Rosemary. It was moist inside with a crispy exterior. Superb. The coconut is savory with only a sweet exterior surrounded with coconut flakes. The texture was similar to the other – moist inside with a crispy crust. I’m ecstatic to see more bakery popping up around town.

Absolute Perfection. True definition of perfect breads, cookies and pastries. Everything I have ever had here has been perfect. Such talent and true passion is hard to find, especially in Miami.

Best chocolate chip cookies, almond croissants and challah! Nicest staff on Miami Beach. This place is a gem

I walked like 18 blocks in a showery morning to have an almond croissant but its worth even its kinda costy. Unfortunately they still have road works to sit outside to enjoy your coffee & your croissant. maybe later!

My husband has brought us some delicious croissants from this place! Also the spinach & cheese with sesame seed croissant is delicious! I need to come by & try other stuff

Best BREAD ever!!! Excellent service and Peaceful ambiance. The spicy beef pastelito is out of this world! Can’t say enough good things. Wish they had a location closer to us, but then again we wouldn’t be able to fit through door frames if we did. Love love love!!!

Baker uses high quality ingredients. In my opinion, way better than the competition. Foods are crafted with more love and freshness.

A glimpse of heaven is what True Loaf offers. Their breads are freshly made with only the best ingredients.
The oatmeal raisin cookie was to die for. It’s harmony of flavors is exuberant to say the very least. The cookie is dense and richly moist. You taste flavors of honey throughout the entire cookie with gives it just the right amount of swwetness.
The croissant… flakey buttery deliciousness. It’s a little taste of heaven.
The olive bread though moist and flavorful it wasn’t anything I would spend words raving about. Don’t get me wrong the bread was perfect in its execution and presentation but not particularly my favorite.

I will never forget my first visit to Paris. Aside from the beauty, romance and rich history of this city, one of the things that I will always remember is the moment in which I tried, for the first time, a real pain au chocolat, or chocolate croissant as it is called in the US. The moment in which I sank my teeth into this perfect pastry oozing with melted chocolate just as it came out of the oven, my relationship with Miami-​made pastries changed for ever. I felt, somehow, that my eyes had been opened to something much better, superior, and I just could not look at their Miami counterparts in the same way.
Having always been a fan of croissants, this discovery took my french pastry obsession to a whole new level, leading me to have breakfast two, sometimes three, times a day and stopping by every single patisserie that crossed my way during my stay in Paris.
Eventually, my trip came to an end, as well as my dream of having the perfect pain au chocolat for breakfast every day. The good old Publix brands that would tempt me so much every time I walked past them at the store where just not doing it for me. The ubiquitous croissants from La Provence that I had cherished so much just weeks before were simply bland in comparison. I was just starting to accept my fate of not being able to enjoy my favorite breakfast food ever again, when all of a sudden, one glorious day, I stumbled upon a little gem in Sunset Harbor that restored my faith and love in Miami-​made croissants. This little gem is, quite appropriately, called True Loaf.
True Loaf is owned and operated by Tomas Strulovic, a formed banker turned baker, who decided to leave his job in the financial industry to learn how to bake at the French Culinary Institute in San Francisco, working at several local restaurants before opening True Loaf in Miami Beach in November of 2013. Even though Tomas is not French, I can assure you that he has mastered the art of french baking, especially when it comes to pastries.
What I like the most about True Loaf is that they always have several croissants on rotation to chose from, some of which include chocolate, classic plain, ham, and my new favorite: the almond croissant. This last one is filled with almond paste, and has little «legs» or patitas de almendra, as I like to call them, of the cream that protrudes from the corners, which are simply delicious when dipped in a cappuccino.
The good news is that True Loaf also makes other legit French goods such as madeleines, financiers, pain aux raisin and Brittany-​style kouign-​amann, a caramelized puff pastry that is topped with sea salt, sugar and lime curd. They only have a selection of pastries available every day, which makes it exciting because you never know which one you are going to get! Their bread is also quite spectacular, made fresh at the store, and always available for sampling. My favorite, surprise surprise, is the chocolate bread, but the olive loaf, which is packed with organic olives, is definitely worth a try.
So there you go. Even though there’s many solid new bakeries popping up all over Miami, when it comes to croissants, the best one is, by far, True Loaf. If you’ve had a real pain au chocolate before, I urge you to try them as they will transport you back to Paris with just one bite. The best part? You don’t have to travel 8 hours by plane to do so!

Really dig the area here. Quiet and off the main fray of South Beach. Ordered a chocolate and almond croissants. CC’s seem to always underwhelm with not enough chocolate. Same case here. The almond was excellent– would get another in a heart beat.
The people that work there are very nice and inviting. Give it a try and keep this joint open moving forward.

Came here for breakfast with a group prior to going to the beach. I had my cousins visiting from Brazil so I wanted to show them a good day with some good food. I had never been to True Loaf but I had heard good things and the Unilocal reviews were excellent so I decided to give it a try.
My first impression was OK, not a lot of places to sit and not a lot options on the menu. The few options were kind of pricey.
I ordered a latte, which is made with Panther coffee. That was really good, so good in fact that I didn’t even need to add sugar. To eat, I had the ham & swiss croissant. The croissant was perfect, simultaneously soft and flaky. I then had the chocolate croissant and this was excellent as well. The one thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the «Country» bread, but not because of the flavor. It had good flavor and was soft on the inside but the outside was just too hard this time around, making it almost impossible to cut with the plastic knife they provide or even to bite. With that being said, based on the quality of the other products, I am almost certain this is not the norm for this bakery. Will be coming back to try the bread again.
The only big problem I had with the establishment was that they were having a lengthy team meeting in which the manager/​owner was trying to find out who stole $ 300 from the register. The employees then proceed to complain that some of their stuff had gone missing as well. I just thought this kind of meeting should be done when costumers are not present, as it takes away all the employees from being able to help the consumer and it just looks really bad. The service was otherwise pretty good, the two employees that took our orders were very helpful and attentive.
Overall though, the food was excellent and so was the coffee so I will definitely be coming back to this place. Also, my cousins loved it and thanked us for the yummy recommendation. (Success!)

The chocolate walnut cookies are seriously the BEST. I’ve never loved or craved a cookie more. I’m not even a big dessert/​sweets fan but I cannot go into this store without getting one.
I think that this bakery is a great addition to Sunset Harbour and something that this side of town has been missing. Everything is so fresh and you can tell that they put a lot of time, energy, and love into their products.
My favorite bread is their multigrain loaves, but I frequently get the baguettes since they have them everyday. I do think the bread is a little pricey but I also do not think there is a place on the beach that has anything comparable.
Other favorites include the almond croissants and the chocolate bread pudding (i think only available on the weekends).
It’s worth noting that I got pre-​ordered a pumpkin pie for thanksgiving from True Loaf and it was excellent so if you live close enough and remember these words next November I highly recommend getting on the list!

I’m all for more bakeries in Miami Beach but True Loaf is significantly pricier and not noticeably better than another French bakery I frequent in Miami.

From our visit, I realized they need to better label all their goodies and breads. At least the name of the item and ideally the price please? We annoyed all the dudes behind us in line, who were antsy for their coffee fix, by asking the employee what all the pastries were. I really had no idea what they were. The small pies and other more unique pastry items were unlabeled.
We got a half loaf of the chocolate bread although the employee didn’t want to give us the half at first — until she realized one was already cut in half. $ 10.75 for trying their chocolate bread for the first time was too much in quantity and in price. Fortunately, the bread had a nice crunchy crust and was filled with an adequate amount of chocolate chips. The crumb was tender and airy.
However, I wasn’t wowed by the croissants, chocolate croissants, or the baguette. They didn’t smell or taste better than the ones I usually get or make at home.
Pros — Email receipt option. Fun flavors of loaves to try. So many different loaves with seeds and different flours. Easy place to load up on coffee, brunch, bread for dinner, and tomorrow’s breakfast.
Cons — Not much space to sit and eat. Couple of small, café tables outside.
Not all items were labeled. You had the option of checking out the chalkboard that had some but not all items with prices, asking what the pastries were, then looking back on the chalkboard to check the price. Back and forth.
The pastries were placed behind the counter around a corner towards the front store window, so you have to lean awkwardly over the cash register to see them all. The big bread loaves are also placed far away to the back. Whoever designed the place should have put the items behind glass but closer to the customers.
Parking — Parking garage $ 1 is nearby or the same building, can’t remember. Some metered street parking.

Build a parking garage, open a few businesses on ground floor, and Boom! You got yourself a neighborhood… at least in Miami that is.
Jokes aside, Sunset Harbour is home to great restaurants like Petit Bistro, Pubbelly, Barceloneta, Tequiztlan, and of course Icebox and this bakery has been a perfect addition for the locals and tourists alike!
As for the bakery… Holy moly!
My shirt starts to feel tighter and I go up 2 pant sizes just by walking inside! The French baguettes and almond croissants are spectacular. Cookies are on my list for next time!

The truest, freshest and best bakery in South Beach. It’s located in Sunset Harbour, the most up-​and-​coming neighborhood in Miami Beach!

True Loaf bakery is serving up some tasty baked goods in their relatively new Sunset Harbour location. From freshly-​baked breads to cookies to pastries to Panther Coffee, True Loaf has something for everyone, and the intoxicating aromas are sure to lure you in if you happen to just be passing by.
I’ve not yet had the pleasure of sampling their actual bread, but I’ve indulged in a couple different pastries that have absolutely blown me away. I had a passion fruit cream-​topped financier that was buttery and delicious. The passion fruit flavor was strong, but the butter flavor of the financier came through.
On my most recent visit, I tried True Loaf’s almond croissant, which was flaky and delicious. Buttery, flaky layers of a croissant with a bit of almond cream, topped with almond slivers and a dusting of powdered sugar — yum, yum, yum. I also tried a passion-​fruit pastry cream-​topped kouign-​amann, which is a type of Breton pastry (yes, I did have to google it). It was a crispy, sugary confection that I’m eager to try again. The passion fruit cream helped to offset the otherwise sticky pastry.
I’m looking forward to other delicious confectionary treats from True Loaf, and will definitely be trying their breads in the near future!
