A & R Café is as rinky-​dink as it gets. There’s no menu. They just jot down four options on four separate sheets of bright colored construction paper. One just read «Hash browns 75 cents.» I chose the bright pink sheet: «Ham Grits Eggs Toast $ 4.00.» Eggs, yay. Grits, yay. Toast, soggy. Ham, whoa-​no.
I asked the man what the lunch options are like. Man go «maybe fish. fry some fish.»
