Ladi Dadi, we like to party. We found the Fashion Night Out’s in the AE District, complete with complimentary Grey Goose. How Fashionable! Free live music by Agape Featuring Nadia Harris on the live stage outside. The music combined with the heat and humidity made for a fun night out exploring the city and hitting up the fun parties. No we were not done yet… we just got started.

A gallery on the edge… on the edge of the Design District on the cutting edge on the edge of next to come on the edge of Midtown/112/Design District on the edge between regular venue space, gallery, and community meeting support spot on the edge of art, music, culture

I’ve been to this space a couple of times and always leave impressed! The brick walls, raw concrete floor and wood roof are a warm combination and seem to provide great acoustics for whoever’s DJ’ing the event. Whether it’s a hiphop photo exhibit, a «routine» Second Saturday Art Walk, or the launch of the Camarena Tequila Truck, AE District is a must-stop during your exploration of Miami’s Art District!

Was at the AEDistrict this weekend to kick start the Overtown Music Project, and any venue that gives back to the community should be noted. About 5000 sq.ft. of open floor, exposed so.fla. pine structure 18 ft above you, spacious., w/a menacing brick wall to lean on and view/enjoy the events postings, art work and projections. If expecting large crowds at future events the load of the mech. system should be increased., but that just may be my personal preference.

Miami has is a cauldron of creativity. The standards; book stores, art galleries and theaters are being supplemented by «spaces,» flexible spaces where the arts, broadly interpreted, are nurtured given the opportunity to partner with an inquisitive and open population. AE District provides this space and directs it in a logical and deliberate fashion, insuring not just lots of arts opportunities, but lots of quality arts opportunities. From theater, to film, to book clubs to Vanessa Garcia’s brilliant and inspiring writing workshops, this is a good idea, well executed.

The brick walls, the huge space, the art! A group of us went to AE District last night for the Michael Jackson tribute they had. It was really cool. They played MJ throughout the night and served complimentary vodka drinks. Yummy! On the right side were brick walls decorated with Simon Birch paintings. On the left side, white walls with more Simon Birch paintings. The space is HUGE! Everything is decorated, oh, so tastefully from the huge table with the antique chairs to the mod chairs in the back. I didn’t want to leave. This place is great for art receptions, parties, and other events. I really like how(on their website) they state that they will define themselves as a gallery or a retailer. AE District, you don’t have to define yourself. You just are and you are wonderful because of it!
