I’ve been living in little havana for 15 years now after having lived in coral gables for 5 years. A lot of my friends thought I was crazy to move here. They don’t understand that this area is the heart of miami’s culture with great little shops and restaurants — Alfaro’s is the first place on Calle ocho I’ve encountered that makes the neighborhood look bad, what a little den of thieves. If you’re in the neighborhood or want to check out viernes culturales you’ll have a great time as long as you stay away from this place.

We had a great time at Alfaro’s. We went Sunday night to see a very talented new singer, Luis Alberto, and enjoyed it so much. There was a $ 20.00 cover charge, but it was well worth it. The show was SPECTACULAR! It was quite full and we didn’t have a reservation, but they were very nice and accommodated us. The service was excellent; the place was very clean; the music was wonderful, and the mojitos are soooo delicious. Alfaro, the owner, even came to our table to make sure all was well. I look forward to going back again to this very fun and friendly establishment.

This is an after hour lounge, its best on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 pm on to late night, is a great place to see new stars and old stars form Cuba and Latin American countries, is clean and the staff is very nice . This place is excellent to chill and have a good time if you like Bohemian, jazzy, feeling music. A place to see stars like Annia Linares, Malena Burke etc, there is a minimal cover charge that is worth every cent.

It was a Sunday evening and we were invited to see a family friend sing on Calle Ocho at Alfaros. An entertaining evening that started with the Band Playing for the first hour. During that time, we ordered a lineup of Tappas International that included Garbanzos Fritas, Chorizo al Vino, Queso Brie Fundido and a Chorizo Sandwich. The menu included appetizers only but they had a full bar. For this event, almost all the songs were in Spanish except for some 70s songs. There is valet parking and metered parking on Calle Ocho until 6pm.
