I went here for the first time today and had one of the best hair cuts and hot towel shave I’ve had in a really long time. To make the experience sweeter, I had no wait and it was cheap. My hair cut was $ 13 and my hot towel shave $ 10. It’s definitely worth a visit.

My first time here was like 4 years ago. When i was on high school. I’ve been coming here for a while. They always keep it clean. And also i always leave here with a fresh cut for a good price. I can’t ask for more.(Luis the barber) always keep me on point.

There’s a certain basic-ness to a buzzcut where a frou-frou Gables salon doesn’t do it justice. You don’t want champagne, you want cafecito. You don’t want Kaskade or something jazzy, you want sports or hiphop. You don’t want a polished neighborhood. You want a certain urban grittiness. Nene’s /The Bottom fits the bill on all counts! (Note: I’m only taking one star out because it’s a cash only operation. The crew and the cut is definitely five star!) It had been awhile(about a month ago according to my Glamorama badge) since I had gotten my trademark buzzcut, and it certainly needed an upgrade so I can GQ style for tomorrow’s Unilocal Lunch Picnic. That’s where Nene’s /The Bottom comes in. I had seen the«Nene’s» spot during prior Viernes Culturales in Calle 8. Speaking with my barber, I was told the name was changed to «The Bottom» to have a more current image. There are two flat screen TV’s showing ESPN and the subsequent Heat game, as well as various sports memorambilia on the wall. In addition to the 4 barber chairs, there are about 10 waiting seats and space towards the back of the shop, giving it room to expand. There’s also a shoeshine station. In addition to a good cut(machine and razor), the barbers themselves give you a good sports talk. This might be a cool place to watch the Super Bowl!
