Saddens me to update this review but after 5 – 6 more times of ordering or visiting I am no longer a fan. When they first opened yes they had a few hiccups which is understandable. Over plenty of time though they seem to have lost control. Not only quality of the food but service as well and prices. Located across from where I work we were excited to have an organic healthy option. It seemed like every time we ordered from the office, they missed something in our order, took forever to deliver, and service has been a real issue lately. The other day we ordered a salad and Panini for $ 28, totally not worth it. The salads in the past were fresh and flavorful, now the lettuce seems old and dry. Trying to place an order for delivery has been crazy with the young girl who keeps you on the phone forever trying to figure out what you want. Not sure about you but I have no time to stay on the phone for 10 minutes to place a food order.

I came here because I had a coupon; boy am I glad I didn’t have to pay full price, because even the discounted experience left a lot to be desired. The one good thing I can say about this place is that the sandwiches we ordered(the Clasico and the Espanola Way) were pretty tasty. That being said, the sandwiches were $ 12 each and came with a salad(no choice of sides here) that was so bitter it was almost inedible. I don’t know if the problem was the greens used or the vinaigrette but regardless it was terrible. At that price, I can definitely do better elsewhere. The ordering process was unnecessarily arduous. They had this poor woman working the register who informed us that she was new who had no idea what was going on. We had to repeat our order to her at least 3 times, and she had to call the owner because she couldn’t figure out how to process our coupon. How do you leave someone this poorly trained alone on a Saturday? I don’t get it. It took us at least ten minutes just to place our order. Part of that was also because they were out of important items. Did you want a soup of the day? Too bad, because even though it’s advertised on their regular menu they decided not to make any soup on Saturday. Would you like a choice of white or wheat baguettes? Too bad, because they don’t have any wheat baguettes… at the start of the day. Two other weird negative details: the place was somehow full of mosquitoes. So much so that my boyfriend and I got eaten alive by the register. Also, it seems they don’t play any music. Since we were the only 2 people in the place, it was deafeningly quiet. There are a lot of other really good sandwiches in the area — I can’t think of any reason why you would want to come to this overall subpar spot.

We received a call from the owner of the restaurant two weeks after we submitted our first complaint as an office(about the horrible burger). She called the office and said that the company that she ordered the burgers from had in fact changed their product. She changed companies and said that she had personally tried the burger herself and that they were as before. She stated that if we wanted to try again, the next time we ordered there we could pay $ 10 each for the burger. I was about to raise my rating until we tried to order today… Before, you could order the burger and YOURCHOICE of a side. Well, they’ve changed that. Now instead of getting to choose your side, they give you a side of tomatoes and lettuce with a balsamic vinaigrette(wow, I could make that at home). You have to pay EXTRA($ 6) for a side of your choice. So, let’s see that’s $ 14 for a BURGER and then EXTRA for the side. Even though they offered us the $ 10 burger(probably about $ 16 after we all chose our sides), none of us were up for paying that price(especially the $ 14 just for the burger in the future) for lettuce and tomatoes as a side. Expect to pay $ 20 for a burger and a side of your choice here. It’s not worth it. I’d rather go spend that at B&B. We’ve decided that this place is too complicated. No thanks.

There is a large wave bombarding South Florida and a large green wave at that. People are becoming more health conscious and are seeking out vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, organic and free range options. Intriguingly this month old restaurant Bamboo Bistro has carved out a menu that caters to both the carnivore and the herbivore while incorporating unique menu items of gluten free, organic and free range options. * ORDERED1STVISIT — Quinoa Veggie Burger on a Herb and Olive oil Portabella($ 13) (came with a small side salad). Not the typical«vegeburger» with buns, it was more like a creative gourmet dish with an ordinary name. The burger was creamy while soft textured to the palate with a light crunch of quinoa. I felt like I was eating herbed heavy cream. You can request this item with a bun. The name is kind of deceiving for those expecting something reminiscent of a conventional vege-burger. I was not fond of this dish at all, I would pass on this one. RATING2.5 — Cauliflower Mash toped with Parmigiano-Reggiano($ 6.00) . Scrumptious to the bite, you can actually feel the health pervading your cells with each bite. The piquancy of the Parmigiano reggiano went perfect with the planty tasting mash. RATING4.0 * ORDERED2NDVISIT — Grilled chicken sandwich with provolone, avocado, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and salsa golf.($ 14) large tender flavorful and delicious, I truly loved this sandwich but not for the price. 4.0 * AMBIANCE/DECOR — modest comfy interior with a large communal table , L shaped counter , and a sprinkling of traditional tables. Place is spotless. RATING4.0 * MENU — the menu is creative and diverse you have free range chicken, organic beef and vegetarian items.
— smoothies and fresh pressed juices to order. — cane sugar made Boylan sodas in Black cherry, crème soda, cane cola and root beer. — they also serve organic coffee. — they have gluten free bread and pastries. * SERVICE — The owner is friendly and loves to have casual conversation with her customers. * PARKING — parking in the rear of the building that is shared with the other restaurants on location. There is also metered parking on 30th st, 29th st and on the village way. * NEGATIVES — menu is overpriced. — tables do not have individual condiments.

Used to be 4 stars, now 1 star because it’s CLOSED!!! Such a disappointment cause this place actually had really good options for vegetarians, even a couple of vegan choices, and tons of healthy options for anyone on the paleo diet. After taking two years to open, it lasted six months. RIP Bamboo Bistro :-(
