Not a bad sports bar in the Wynwood area. Definitely a nice spot to go watch a game and get something to eat. The food is great. Wings and burgers are awesome here. Got an ok selection of beer and offer a full liquor bar. I wish the beer selection was better. They only have like 3 or 4 drafts and the rest bottles/cans. All craft beer, which I like, but just not a wide selection. Still a great spot to go if you want a drink and some food. Best part is how they’re open late!

Great happy hour! Very relaxed. The bartender is laidback but takes good care of customers.

Expensive for a sports bar. $ 7 tap beer??? Lots of trendy, bitter, high-carb craft beers — but not a domestic light beer in sight! Limited menu. I ordered wings, and they got my order wrong, although the wings that showed up were huge and very good. There are very few seats at the bar. For a popular game, this place would suck. Parking is a block away with city meters under a creepy dark bridge. Benchwarmers is not worth the trip.

Finally a sports bar in Midtown! First, the space is great small and intimate and a lot of energy. It’s got that wood vibe but seems to be missing something — couldn’t get the Baltimore game turned on one tv because it was Dolphins day! Food — great little menu, although what I had hoped would be killer wings ended up being the bottom of the barrel cheap kind like hurricane wings serves they look more like rat legs. I had pretty high expectations for Garcia’s set up here and to be honest feel a but let down. Service is awesome, great staff and very attentive. Overall a 4 star deal, good selection of beers and drinks, great vibe and thank god something in downtown/midtown for our sports needs!

A laid-back sports bar is something that’s been lacking in the Wynwood/Midtown area, and Benchwarmers fills that void while keeping in character — it’s not the same generic sports bar you’ll find anywhere, it definitely keeps the feel of the neighborhood. They have great specials(like Ladies’ nights on Thursday where girls drink free from 10pm-12am), and the prices are reasonable even if you somehow manage to come in when there’s nothing going on. Even though the food menu is short — I’m talking you can pretty much count everything they offer on one hand — the cheeseburger is amazing and the french fries are pretty damn good too. My only gripe is the seating, which is ridiculously uncomfortable(also feels like you’re going to get home and be full of splinters) but I guess this is trying to be more of a bar and maybe the point is it keeps you from sitting down? Not a big deal I guess, as it isn’t going to keep me away. Benchwarmers has been around for all of about five minutes, and I can still easily say it’s already one of my favorite neighborhood bars.

What William O. said. That guy expresses my exact sentiments. Get out of my head! DATFRENCHFRYMENUDOE. All in all, these guys do one thing very well: persistence to perfecting their craft.

The grilled wings were bangin’ like Horce Grant in the paint. The vibe is chill like the beer in my pint glass. Looking forward to making this my home base once Heat seasons starts back up. Speaking of seasons the seasoned fries were slammin like Harold Miner in 95′.

Good food, good drink selection, everything is priced right. TV’s all over the place. This is becoming my go to sports bar of choice. The wings are absolutely great, and they offer tator tots which I can never pass up. The rest of the menu isn’t massive, but straight to the point. Minor complaint the sound can be a little loud where it becomes tough to communicate and this place fills up rather quickly.

French fries and beer are a few of my favorite things, so naturally I’m a fan. The owners of this place are geniuses. This area of Miami is very hip/hipster, so there aren’t a lot of sports bars around. They have managed to find the the niche of hipster-sports-watchers. I went here to watch the world cup finale, holy moly not enough seating. and it seemed like the staff was completely overwhelmed. It took thirty minutes for me to get a menu. A friend and I grabbed up some unused chairs and sit in a corner with no table. We were lucky. It felt like the servers were paying more attention to their tables than the people standing, which I didn’t understand because we are all patrons of the restaurant. But after about 30 minutes we were waited on and it was smooth sailing from there. I think this is an isolated experience but important to note if you want to watch big games there. Get there earlyyyyyyy. Like an hour early would be a good idea. I’ve only had the french fries here. First time around I got the cajun fries with spicy ketchup and aioli, HIGHLYRECOMMEND. Second time I got the bleu cheese dressing fries… it was still delicious but not as good as cajun fries. Happy french fries to all!

I have a French fry addiction. So, when I heard about their extensive French fry menu, I quickly made my way to Benchwarmers. Had the Pineapple Express cocktail, sans jalapeño and it was good. Very sweet, pineapple-y and in a pretty large sized mug. Tried the plain jane fries and was bummed to find them soggy and pretty much tasteless. Although, I forgive them because of their waffle fries, which I chose to have with fried eggs and bacon. Top that little treasure basket with some ketchup and you’ll have a party in your mouth.

Been there twice to watch World Cup and will def go back. Great crowd, great drink choices. Tried the hummus, waffle fries, tater tots, cowboy dip and salads. All were very good and I hear the burgers are awesome. Tons of parking in the back and location is prime. You did it again, Cesar Morales! Congrats!

Honestly there’s a bigger hype then what it really is… Went after a world cup game, music was extremely Loud, uncomfortable loud. I had to ask the waiter if they could bring the volume down since at that point it was a small clientele. Wings again ehhhh nothing to brag about. Had a nacho libre drink which is made with Mexican coke and vodka, again ok. Would I go back? Yes for a drink to watch a game but nothing beyond that.

Great sports bar. Great food, great atmosphere. They have Tons of TVs. You can literally see at least 4 from every seat. Tater tots are the bomb. They have lots of vegetarian options and the Asian chicken salad I had was sooooo delicious! They also have pitchers of craft beers(which is rare) my husband loved it. The only negative thing I can say is the Bathroom is too small but that seems to happen in a lot of places in Miami :/

Watched the World Cup here last week, great real sports bar. Had Tito’s Vodka which is a + in my book, and great grilled chicken wings, we got the Caribbean Jerk and Plain ones, I would stick with the Jerk, they were delicious and plump. Waitstaff was a bit slow, but expected as the place was crowded, but they were all super nice. Glad to have in the neighborhood and planning to come back more.

Went for what, I believe, was the soft opening. TVs were still being hung, the full menu hadn’t been rolled out. I’m pretty sure the walls hadn’t even been painted blue. Still. This place, it’s by the people who brought us Wood Tavern.(You can find me at Wood most Friday evenings chasing shots of Jameson with gulps of Blue Point.) No, I couldn’t wait anymore. I had to go. I HADTO. Sat at the bar to enjoy the Colombia vs Greece match, and what struck me – and, in looking at pictures, what continues to strike me – is that the décor isn’t your typical sports bar décor. What I mean is… it’s not like a ten-year-old boy’s bedroom with Florida Marlins sheets or the pukey«man room» you might see on some network-TV sitcom or in a divorcee’s house. And yeah, you know what I mean. You know the difference between the place that just accumulated wonderful, smoke-stained, outdated-yet-not-outdated décor over the years(I love you, Mike’s at the Venetia) and the place that was intricately put together to make you feel like a pineapple under the sea. It’s just simple. It’s a sports bar. Benchwarmers, they let the sports do the branding. Not the myriad jerseys. Not the countless pennants. Not the endless posters featuring some local sport’s hero. (Save for the picture of The Godfather in Laker purple. All Hail.) It’s just sports. The sports do the branding. The sports and the craft beer and the simple, unstained wood and and the chicken strips and the jalapeño poppers. It’s just sports. That’s all. A place to watch sports. A place to eat. A place to drink. No owls. No pictures of fat fishermen. No fifteen pieces of flair. Just sports. The staff is great, too. Smiling. Eager to help. Open to conversation. All of it. Not a perfect 5 just yet. And this isn’t an insult. I mean… they hadn’t even finished putting the puzzle together, and I’m still giving it a four. No, I’ll update this soon. Once I’ve had a burger. And the fries. The fries look unreal.

If you have been to one sports bar you have been to them all. I am not sure this is a bad thing but it is definitely a thing — I think. This place is definitely a sport bar. There are a bunch of TVs and while it isn’t very big, it was a great place to watch some games. I was there this morning for Germany vs Portugal and the place was pretty crowded at noon. There were the typical just opening issues(out of a couple of beers, beer cooler not installed etc) but these things weren’t such a big deal to me really. The service was fine even though they had to search through coolers to find beers and things like that. The beer selection is great and I was easily able to find something to drink. The menu didn’t have a ton of stuff on it but there was a nice variety. I understand they will be expanding it in the future. I only ordered some fries and while they were tasty I thought the amount I got was pretty meager. I saw someone later get a salad and it looked amazing and huge. There seemed to be burgers(and a veggie burger option) and some chicken wings. I will definitely be back to watch some sports and drink some good beer. I’m curious what it will be like late night(it will close at 5) when there are no sports on and there is music playing. Maybe it can double as the neighborhood dive bar. I went back a few days later and the coolers were gone and all beers were available., It was packed and was a fun place to watch some soccer. It would be great if they had a fish sandwich though or fish and chips or some sort of seafood. If you don’t eat meat the choices are underwhleming(cauliflower burger — no thanks, portobello burger and spinach/artichoke quesadilla). There is also some hummus and maybe something else.

Benchwarmers is almost ready for the big leagues. it’s almost ready to supplant the sports bar who’s logo looks like a certain bearded Latin American dictator for my sports bar spending. I came in the other night after shopping at midtown across the street and was fairly impressed. Almost. fix the few links noted below and they will be MVP! The art is cool — can you say vintage Pat Riley, looking like a hipster instead of rocking Armani and Zecha? There are also other vintage sports posters on the wall, some of which they were still mounting. I passed on drinks since I had to head back to work, but the food was tasty. Start off with one of their twists on fried eggs. Served on curly fries(yes, direct competition with the beard) I enjoyed my bacon bits and two fried eggs. The yolk could have been a little more runny but that’s personal preference. I also had a very large chicken breast, with a sort of pepper and citrus seasoning, with fresh lettuce tomato and bread that was as tasty as it was large. They were out my first choice of cheese and the one they had was a «cheese sauce» per the menu. Natural cheese, por favor. The coke did taste a little flat, a little different. However, I do appreciate the hustle of getting me a to go cup as well as the free refills. The bathroom stall seemed a little on the small side even though I’m not Rick Ross sized. Also, while there’s some street parking available I can see it being an issue during art walk or big game nights. A couple of pointers and Benchwarmers will be a starter soon.

Great new spot from the folks that brought you Wood Tavern. It’s on the Midtown/Design District border on the North side of 36th Street. If you’re not riding your bike, park in the same lot that you would when going to the Stage. The beer selection is pretty elaborate and the food menu is decent. It’s a little trendy, but it’s a sports bar for the most part; with plenty of t.v.‘s. It’s not huge, but it’s not tiny either. About the same size as the Abbey, but much brighter. Wood has a decent crowd and vibe, so you should expect the same from Benchwarmers. I love the oldschool player card/poster of Pat Riley. I’ve never seen that before ever. Great find!
