I used to come to Chuck Wagon regularly, but hadn’t been in a while. I ended up coming in on a weekday for breakfast. Given the sparsity of customers, I would have thought that the service would have been a little better. The waiters were very friendly, but didn’t check on our table much. At one point I had to go looking for someone. Everything in the place seems a bit dated, and could use some freshening up. I’m a fan of the general atmosphere, but the tables and seats could look a bit newer/cleaner. The food, however, is very good, and reasonably priced.

We wanted a traditional American breakfast, so we tried this place. The cowboy theme throughout the place is very inviting. The staff is attentive and its clean. However the meal itself was not what I expect from a proclaimed, traditional American restaurant. I ordered a hashbrown omelette. It was not enough hash and the hash was not properly cooked before it was mixed in the omelette. Sadly, the biscuits appear and taste like pre-packaged, store bought biscuits. The home fries were served cold. My husband had the pecan pancakes. The mix was over stirred, thus the pancakes had a rubbery texture. The pecans were simply sprinkled over the pancakes, instead of in the mix. Sorry, but for that I could have brought my own crushed pecans and saved some money. The syrup was Aunt Jemima… really? Overall, it was not enough to go back. Oh, and the coffee is ok.

This place is a staple I the West End of Kendall. I have been coming here since they opened. If u want good food and nice quite atmosphere than this is the place. Once you sit down and put your order in it comes fast. Their are four tv’s to watch local news in the morning and you also get to see a lot of the regulars. The meals are large. I always order the«Wagon Wheel» comes with 2-pancakes 2-eggs and bacon or you can order sausage. I will continue to come here and there enjoy good service.

Love this place. Homey and relaxed place to get a real breakfast. They have many varieties of sausage which makes going each time an experience. They also have great biscuits and gravy. It’s out of the way but well worth it.

Ok I am shock to see this place has only three stars, to me they should have the full 5 This is the best breakfast in the Kendall area no doubt, and the best pancakes I ever had!!! The best part is that family gathering feel to it Everything is awesome, my favorite is the fried egg sandwich with cheddar cheese and ham on Cuban toast and a side of pancakes. Really give this place a try and avoid the big breakfast chains you won’t regret it.

Our first time to this place. Came for a Sunday breakfast. The place was busy but we sat promptly. Food was very good and came out quickly. Only complaint would be about our server. She was an older woman who took our order and delivered everything we asked for. What she failed to do was follow up to see if everything was good or if we needed anything. My husband ran out of his beverage and never did she come to refill it. Instead she spent her time talking to two other dinners that she apparently knew. The next time we saw her was when she brought our check and said thank you. That was it. No how was everything or can I get you anything else. She simply took it upon herself to assume that we were done. Despite the lack of service, my husband was generous with the tip. I would not have been. This will not discourage us from going back however because the food was good. I would have given a better rating had our server provided better customer service.

I’ve been here a couple times on my own for breakfast. I love the OJ in a boot(though I wonder how they clean the toes area in particular?) I’ll try not to wonder too much. I love the Wagon Wheel(?) Slam. It’s only $ 8 and comes with eggs, bacon, biscuit(and gravy which I skip) and home fries. It always fills me up. I love my biscuits with strawberry jelly so I save that for«dessert». The place definitely needs remodel/renovation(Robert Irvine would start by decluttering and rip out those carpets!) but in this case it isn’t a big deal to me. The food is fast, cheap and hot. The service is typical for diner-type place. Ask for a punch card when you pay. I’ll be back when I’m in the area and craving breakfast.

I think the food here is tasty and inexpensive and the service is fast and friendly. This place needs a good $ 15K to remodel the interior with new flooring an tables/booths/chairs. That or Robert Irvine and the team from F.N. to come in and fix it up. I ordered the Grand Slam and could not believe the amount of food I was served for just $ 8! A little less egg and a little less homefries and it still would’ve been a good size portion. I watch a lot of R.I. on the Food Network to suspect that this place might not know its food cost. What does that mean to you and me as patrons? For one, if they cant turn a profit they can never save enough $$ to remodel. Or worse, they might not be able to stay and business. Again, all of this is speculation on my part. I really have no clue how they stand financially. I just want to see them do well so I can come and enjoy their delicious biscuits. I could dock a star because the place is outdated and a little dingy(especially the carpet eww) but that would be counterproductive in my opinion. Besides, the food hit the spot. So about those biscuits… they were absolutely PERFECT. Light and fluffy and warm. And I.Love.Biscuits! The order came with 2… yay! So I had one with butter and one with strawberry jelly as my dessert ;) The eggs were perfectly seasoned and surprisingly flavorful. I’m used to being served very bland eggs at most diner-style breakfast joints. But these were yummy. The potatoes were alright. I was especially happy to see I wasn’t served all the black burnt pieces most places will give you along with your potatoes(a-hem Deli Lane!) Anyway, I wish these had some herbs or spices(paprika?). I didn’t taste the sausage gravy because I personally hate the stuff. And the OJ was your regular OJ from concentrate(perhaps Minute Maid?) Fine by me because I’m trying to keep it cheap when I come to places like this. Fresh squeezed wouldve been a $ 1 or 2 more, understandably. All in all, a tasty, fast, friendly, inexpensive breakfast joint desperately needed in Kendall.(They also serve Lunch… I will update review once I’ve been back to try it.)

We love coming here! It’s super close to our house and the service and food is always great. They’ve recently changed up the decoration which is great because I used to feel that it was too dusty in there.

This place is good because of location, however they are very unorganized and they don’t know restaurant service. Also, the host and hostest doesn’t do a proper greeting they lack training in general I don’t know how they still have job here. They finally somewhat updated the place inside with new carpet. All things aside the good thing is that they never screwed up my order and they are quick to serve you your food.

Cause Cracker Barrel is too far!

It feels like a greasy western theme diner, which is exactly what it is. The service was pretty fast and the staff was nice. The food was ok, sorta too greasy for me. Here’s the con to this place… It feels dirty, there were lipstick on my coffee cup, and when I asked for another cup I got another mug with lipstick on it. Gross!!! The place was pretty busy. It felt like a Denny’s.

Never go back again!!! Horrible service. Went this Morning around 10:00am, place was half full. It took 15 minutes to get the waitress and then she said she only had time to get the drink orders. After 15 more minutes had to ask the hostess to get the waitress to get the order. She said she was very busy and said if we wanted good service we had to come at 9:00am, cause they are very busy on Sundays. This place doesn’t have enough workers for the size of the restaurant & they obviously expect the customer to suffer the consequence. After another 20 minutes breakfast came without bread and cold. She came to ask if everything was OK? We said no missing bread. After another 10 minutes bread came. By then the coffee was already cold. I feel I’m paying full price for service and food anytime of the week. If they can’t handle a full restaurant they should close part of it. The Chuck Wagon in 117th and Sunset is always full and we always get good service and food.

I really want to love this place, even like it would be good. It’s close by, descent menu and never busy. We’ve tried a few times, but the service is just so poor. It’s hard to understand how the service at the sunset location can be so good and this location be so bad. I know they share the same owner, menu, even décor. Yet the staff is worlds apart. This location is so much closer to home, has better parking and never has a wait, understandably… The chili cheese omelet is always good as are the biscuits. Bacon is crispy and the French toast is ok. The food is probably worthy of three, maybe even four stars, but the service negates that. We settle on two stars and choose not to come back. It’s a shame, would definitely be regulars if they could get their service in line with the quality of the food.

…see here partner, these fixin’s look a bit canned. Okay, that was my John Wayne impression. I have enjoyed the food and atmosphere at The Chuck Wagon. The staff is always friendly and you’re treated like a good neighbor. There’s always coffee brewing and pancakes flipping. The French toast is pretty good, and the omelettes made just right. If you’re looking for something fancy, this is not the place. Stick to eggs, grits, bacon, pancakes, etc., and you’ll always leave satisfied. As always, if you pay with your credit card, leave the tip in cash… they’ll love you for that.

Chuck Wagon, you’re so outdated, it’s part of your charm. Since New York, New York closed down, I’ve been frequenting you for delicious breakfasts, and as far as your food is concerned, I think you’re doing a wonderful job. The best veggie omelets and pancakes around! I also love your café con leche. I heard from a server today that you’re renovating. I’m on board with the renovation for reasons of cleanliness. I come here a lot and there’s been a couple times when the smell of wet, dirty rag has filled the air. So there’s definitely room for improvement. The bathrooms are also pretty gross, but again, I don’t come to Chuck Wagon to use the bathroom. I’m just glad to hear you’ll be upgrading soon. I just hope you don’t lose the Chuck Wagon feel. I like it here.
