The baleadas sucks! They are super bad and the tortillas are thinner than a paper. Going to coco baleadas is a rip off! But the service is good there.

Today, I came in for the second time after a very long time. The first visit didn’t have much to rave about, so I tried it again. I ordered a pupusa, which is a tortilla filled with your choice of a combination of cheese, beans and fried pork rind or a mix. I ordered a cheese and bean filled one. The lady convinced me that they weren’t that big that I should order two. So I listened and ordered two. She also voiced it would take ten minutes to make. I said«okay.» 26 minutes later, I see the employee with my two pupusas in a to go box. And then she returns to the kitchen to put them on a plate for me. When I finally sat to cut into the pupusa. It’s to my surprise that’s it’s barely filled with beans or cheese. With my fork I pull off the top layer of the tortilla to inspect closer and indeed there was no cheese and a very, very, very thin spread of beans. Barely a sign of a trace of beans. As if beans were going out of style or maybe beans are an expensive demand? Not sure! But they were MIA in my situation. I shared my story with my mother, she said I should of returned it, I said I rather not return myself. If someone finds the filling in these pupusas let me know… I want to know where it’s hiding.

Great food and cheap. Found this spot a few days ago fairly late in the evening on Easter Sunday. I was out driving around with the wife and we got hungry. This was the only place nearby that was open so we stopped in. Neither of us had ever tried baleadas before so the lady working there explained how it works. Food took a little while to come out, but that could’ve just seemed longer than it was since we were pretty hungry. Definitely worth the wait. The small baleada with shredded beef was plenty big enough for a large late night snack and the pupusa that my wife had was pretty good too. Their fruit juices were better than most places I’ve found here as well. There’s meter parking on the street or, if you turn down 17th Ave, there’s a free private lot right behind the building and an entrance from the back so you don’t have to walk around to the front.

This restaurant has the best baleadas in Miami! I’ve been here twice and in both occasions the food has been amazing. They have really good service and if you aren’t familiar with Honduran food they’re more than willing to explain the menu to you. This is definitely a place I’ll continue to come to often.

The food was good but took really long to be ready. It was not worth the wait it took and the attitude I got when I told them they got my order wrong. And after waiting for an hour to get one baleada and told it is because they are made to order, I would not come back here again. I am Honduran so I know a flour tortilla does not take that look to make when everything else was already ready. In addition to that, the lady in the front of the house putting the food together kept touching her hair and her face and then the food. There is no point in wearing gloves if you are going to touch your hair with them after. Extremely dissappointed after all the hype my friends made about it.

This is your typical Honduran joint. No need to travel 2000 miles across the ocean to get this deliciousness. The food is amazing and fresh! Horchatas are delicious. Come patient because they take a while to prepare each meal to make it perfect!

Hands down the worst place to get«authentic» Honduran baleadas. Everything was stale, and flavorless. Gave it two chances, and sadly both times were a miss.

As a professional baleada eater, I can tell you this is the spot for authentic Honduran food . IMSOHAPPYCOCOBALEADASIS5MINSFROMMYHOUSE. Their baleadas are so legit ! I have been meaning to try this spot to compare with casa de las baleadas in little havana but for sure these baleadas are better ! Their baleades are HUGE and you can stuff many ingredients. Don’t forget the crema ! Paired with a corona I spent $ 10.00 . The only suggestion would be to cover the food if there are no clients .This is why I’m not such a big fan of salad bar setups. Aside from that, the service is execellent and they are welcoming. They do play Spanish music(if you are a proud Hispanic this shouldn’t bother you) and even have a big screen TV which played my favorite movie GREASE. I was sold from that moment . I will go back to try every item on that menu !

I have never had hondurian fast food before, but this has changed my mind. I ordered delivery from coco baleadas: Gemelitas: Bean + pungent cheese and crema: I love this it was fabulous, I can live off of this. Nachos– fresh fried nachos, with decently seasoned chicken that was grilled, with all the toppings pico, pickled onions, and they added jalapeño as per my wishes and it was great Cuchi Catracho– rolled tortilla with beans, cheese,(any meat but i got chicken) with plaintains, advocado, eggs) cut up into little bites, and topped with pico, cream, tamarind sauce, and arugula. This is divine. Love the use of tamarind as I have never seen this used frequently outside of south asian food. Will definitely order again, and again!

This is a hidden gem. A whole in the wall, literally on coral way and 17th. I am amazed how delicious this was. The CoCo Trompeta was out of this world. About 5 different types of sauces, stuffed with cheese, chicken, or steak. Just stunned how great it really was. Check them out!!!

I pass by coco baleadas every day on my way home and I had been hoping for quite some time to right the wrong of my visit to Honduras ten years ago — when I was there I never tried a baleada. When I walked in here they seemed to be celebrating an anniversary — there were balloons everywhere, they were handing out slices of cake, and there was a stereo with loud Spanish music playing. Not really my idea of good atmosphere but I would have to come back to see what it’s like on a regular day. The menu is pretty simple — almost all your options are a variation of the classic baleada which is a tortilla spread with beans and covered with cheese and cream. They have something of a salad bar setup and you can add pickled onions, other types of cheese, pico de gallo, etc. Because of this I thought that the food would come out fairly quickly since all they really have to do is churn out tortillas and top them with things that are mostly already made. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. For an order of two simple baleadas and one that more resembled a burrito, I was waiting at least twenty minutes after they took my order. I had actually chosen to stop in because I was on my way to a movie and I didn’t have time for a sit down dinner. It took so long that I told them at some point I would take whatever they had made but to please cancel the rest of my order because I had to go. At that point the woman behind the counter told me she was making it right away, even though I wasn’t next in line. This left me pretty uncomfortable as a) I couldn’t really keep waiting and b) I didn’t ask her to skip anyone else to accommodate me. I guess it was fortunate that I eventually got my food because it was incredible. The simple baleadas were so delicious — the tortillas were pillow light and the crema(similar to sour cream but not quite the same) had just the right amount of tart flavor to balance out the earthiness of the beans. The burrito-type baleada I ordered was also fantastic. This entire meal also cost me less than $ 9. You wont get better value almost anywhere. Bottom line: I’ll be going back to coco baleadas — but when I’m neither starved nor in a hurry.

Just enjoyed our pick up order. It was delicious! They prepare your order right in front of you and are not skimpy with the fillings. My husband had the Hypersuperturbomegagrande Taco which he wasn’t able to finish and I had the mini hyper. The mini hyper is anything but mini! It’s about 7 inches long and stuffed with delicious shredded meat, sautéed peppers and onions(ordered these extra) and is covered in delicious sauces, pico and cheese. My husbands taco was HUGE, same fillings as the mini, he loved it and is looking forward to the leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. We will definitely become regulars, especially with their great prices!

Came here last Sunday night. My family is Honduran so we know what good authentic Honduran food is. Coco Baleadas is more in the realm of Honduran fast food. That being said it was absolutely delicious and authentic! I had the tacos and my mother and grandmother had the chicken enchiladas. We also ordered a couple of the gemelitas. Everything was great and I love the banana sodas just like in Honduras. I will most definitely be back to try more dishes.

Even though I have heard the name«baleadas» mentioned countless times, and even though I know Miami has a very large Honduran community, I have never *ever* seen a «baleada». Actually, I don’t even know what a «baleada» is… yes, I am ignorant. I admit it, yet I will do something to correct this. So, here I am driving down Coral Way and I see this very bright sign for Coco Baleadas. «Ah! I thought, here is my chance to meet a baleada». Coco Baleadas occupies a pretty large space. Everything is pretty new and clean. The food menu is on the wall, and it is a picture menu, with names, prices and… pictures(yes). It was my first visit, and I told the person at the counter this, so I had someone explain the items on the menu. Many of the dishes looked interesting to me, actually, it all seemed really good, but on my first trip I had to get a «baleada». That is exactly what I did, and I also got some«gemelitas». After I ordered, I was asked to move to the food assembly line to pick three ingredients for my «baleada». I picked a meat(I got«carne asada») and two non meats(plantains and white cheese) to go in my «baleada». I was reminded that I could pick more items for an additional charge, but that seemed plenty already. And it was then, while I waited, that I found out that a «baleada» is a whole wheat tortilla spread with beans, and topped with cheese and cream. Post-assembly it kind of looked like a calzone made with a tortilla. The«gemelitas», that I had also ordered, are a pair of tortillas filled with beans and cheese, and topped with white sauce. They put my food on a tray, I got a grape soda called Tropical, and I sat down to eat. A soccer game was playing on the TV. The stuff was really good, so good that I devoured my food. Ah! That«baleada» was plenty tasty! The tortilla was super soft, the beans were tasty, the meat and the plantains were excellent… I initially thought that I was going to eat half and save half to go, but forget about that. I ate it all. The grape soda was also surprisingly good. I was very surprised. With the«gemelitas» I was more cautious, and I took one home. But the good stuff vibrations wasn’t over yet. When I got to the register, my bill came out to be $ 12 for all that food! I scored a home run that I am still digesting. I was stuffed on the good and cheap. Like they say in Central America, «Bueno, bonito y barato». I couldn’t be happier. OK, wait… yes, it is not gourmet, grass fed, whatever, yeah, I don’t know the provenance of all the ingredients, organic or not, but it was really good food and not expensive. And what really mattered to me was that I got to try«baleadas» and that I finally sneaked(snuck) into Honduran culture and their gastronomy, something that had eluded me for many years. To summarize, Coco Baleadas is really good. To expand on that, well, they are a very good starting point to explore Honduran gastronomy. That’s all. By the way, there is parking in the back, so come around and avoid the meters.

I had the Tipiquito while my boyfriend had the mega something, which wasn’t that big for him. The place is ok, the staff is friendly, the food is average. I liked it, but it didn’t have that wow effect on me. I would try something else on the menu, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it.

Full recomendado.

First time eating here today. Coco Baleadas has a great family atmosphere not like many other Honduran restaurants in Miami that have an ugly bar feel. Staff is very friendly, but can be a bit pushy if your not sure what you want to try. Overall food was very good. I had the Gemela’s, miniature Baleadas(Flour tortilla with refried beans, cheese, and cream) & also a smaller version of the St Lucia(Cilantro rice, refried beans, cheese, a slice of avocado, sweet plantains, and well cooked steak pieces) The Gemela’s we’re very good, great taste. It could’ve been a little warmer though. Will be back soon.

I love a great baleada but where I live the only way you’re going to get a good one is if you make it. We heard about this place as we knew it from Honduras. The place is spacious, not very decorative, menu items on the wall, and the order bar. There weren’t too many people in the place when we came which was good since there was only one person working up front. I had the tamisita and it was delicious. I had an horchata, very distinct flavor and different than the Mexican variety. I would definitely stop in again if we’re in the area.
